The most valuable feature of AWS Glue for me is the ability to write PySpark code and execute it within Glue. I use Glue functions to publish parameters and interact with Glue.

With AWS Glue, there have been a lot of updates over the past couple of years. The feature which I like the most is that AWS Glue has now integrated Jupyter Notebook into it, causing AWS Glue to become interactive and develop new use cases. The fact that we don't have to worry about the resources required for any particular job since it gets taken care of by AWS Glue adds to the valuable feature set of the product.

Data catalog and triggers are the two best features for me.

AWS Glue has its own data catalog, which makes it great and really easy to use. Triggers are also really good for scheduling the ETL process.

What I like best about AWS Glue is its real-time data backup feature. Last week, there was a production push, and what used to take almost ten days even to send out around fifty-six thousand emails now takes only two hours.

I also like that the data backup in AWS Glue is spontaneous, and data is recorded and backed up every single moment.

The AWS Glue crawlers are valuable features. It is very versatile. It can detect the nature of the underlying data. It is quite smart, and it takes a lot of offloads rather than having to worry about configuring it or managing it.

If you have the Fund Manager, you could use a fast processing engine, which is crucial for performance.

I also like that you can add custom libraries like JAR files and use them. So, the ability to use a fast processing engine and embed basic jobs easily are significant advantages.

The fact that we can use PySpark to program them is great.

It's fairly straightforward as a product; it's not very complicated.

The fact that Amazon offers it and it's a quick way of getting things done, and the fact that it doesn't require a lot of training is very positive attributes.

The initial setup is straightforward.

It can scale.

The best feature is the price point. It's pretty cheap as compared to other tools like Informatica, et cetera. That's why major companies are moving to the cloud and using Glue. At least, that's what I found.

The solution is stable and reliable.

You can scale the product if you need to.

The most valuable feature of AWS Glue is that it provides a GUI format with a drag-and-drop feature. The solution provides a codeless feature or no code feature, where you can write a pipeline without adding code in AWS Glue.

If you are working on AWS services for your pipeline, AWS Glue better interacts with the AWS services than other third-party tools. The solution provides inbuilt data quality and cataloging features. AWS Glue provides a complete package, and you can do all things in one place.

AWS Glue is fast and managed by AWS. Hence, you don't have to worry about capacity and the performance of Glue jobs. It has integrations with other data stores of AWS. The product offers metadata management, logging, and ETL processing capabilities. It comes with a powerful feature, Glue Studio, which helps to do queries interactively within the community. It is a managed service and very secure. Another popular and mature service is S3.

The Glue Crawler can have a set of connectors, so you can utilize those connectors to connect with the external databases, which may be on-premise in different networks or maybe locally on AWS. Basically, you can use the connector to fetch the data.

Once you have a data schema, you can start streaming or fetching the data in the particular format conversion. For example, suppose you have the text file, and you have Word in place or maybe in SQL, and you can use the connector on the fly to convert the database.

For batch processing, batch genetics, it is helpful for the ETL process.

The setup is easy.

The solution offers a free trial.

The solution can scale.

It's stable.

Users only pay for what they use once they have a license.

If you want extremely high-performance functionality, you have to use both AWS Glue or Data Lake to store it in some temporary table. First, you will have to do some cleaning of the data, then if you need performance and speed, you have to use IIS with an IBM tool.

You have to use the right tool in the right places. For example, if you're using Oracle, you have got to use the Oracle tools. If you are using SQL, you have to use the SQL tools. There is no other tool that provides the performance.

It's context-based and project-based. In the projects that I have used, it has worked well.

Transformations are valuable because you can modify or override complex data logic from an open source or Spark to solve issues.

For example, it is easy to solve issues where volume is good but performance is degrading because you can split jobs into small chunks to more quickly handle data loads.

The most valuable feature In terms of convenience, the drag-and-drop is really nice. The no-code interface, is really nice, being able to drag in my connectors. And then the nice thing, as well, is that it generates the framework, the wireframe of your code, so then you can just input whatever Spark or Python you want to input to make any further transformations.

The solution is serverless so it allows us to transform data while optimizing the cost and performance of Spark jobs.

The solution works with many data sources and services in the cloud.

Glue Watch monitors our Spark jobs and immediately alerts us to issues so we are able to resolve them quickly.

We find the solution very useful when we make use of certain scripts. In some cases, it allows us to get rid of duplicates.

Its user interface is quite good. You just need to choose some options to create a job in AWS Glue.

The code-generation feature is also useful. If you don't want to customize it and simply want to read a file and store the data in the database, it can generate the code for you.
