Excellent process management and orchestration capabilities that helped free up employees and reduce time-to-market
Pros and Cons
  • "Process management is easy with Bizagi; validating processes and assigning resources is straightforward."
  • "I would like to see simulation as a free feature again. In version 3.3 it was free, but in 4.0 it isn't."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution to map all our processes, including HR and IT processes. It's installed on our desktops, and if we need to change a process, we can upload the change to our Drive for the others to download. There is nothing online or in the cloud.

How has it helped my organization?

The solution provides insight into user activities and is excellent for optimizing processes and activities. We can also simulate where processes stop, so Bizagi significantly helps optimize our organization.

Bizagi helped us connect stakeholders with processes, giving them a greater understanding of our processes and interacting with them to increase optimization.

Bizagi reduced our time-to-market because we can log our activities and activity details, improving our operation and providing standardization. The tool helped a lot with our SDCA cycle.

The solution helped free up employees to do more valuable work, especially with the activity maps, which show employees what tasks to do and when to do them. It streamlines our processes, making them more efficient and saving time for everyone.

What is most valuable?

The simulation is an excellent feature.

Process management is easy with Bizagi; validating processes and assigning resources is straightforward.

Bizagi's orchestration capabilities are excellent; it's easy to use and very intuitive. It's one of the best solutions for modulating and mapping processes.

We can adapt processes created with Bizagi as our business grows and more processes are automated; it's straightforward and intuitive. Even people unfamiliar with the solution comment on its simplicity and intuitive nature.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see simulation as a free feature again. In version 3.3 it was free, but in 4.0 it isn't.

I also want more space to write in the activities and comments.

A good feature would be if the solution showed the time to validate when there is an error in the process, and if there is no connection between activities, for that to notify us in red.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Bizagi for six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution's stability is excellent. It does freeze very rarely, but it's quick to go back to normal when that happens.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is highly scalable because it's free to download and use. It's also very straightforward to use, so a broad spectrum of people can interact with it.

How are customer service and support?

I didn't have to contact customer support so far. I got all my questions answered by visiting the FAQ on the Bizagi website, so the support is excellent in that sense.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We briefly used IBM Blueworks Live and switched because the company changed its partnership with IBM one month after I joined. We had to continue mapping processes, and I was already familiar with Bizagi, so we went with that.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very straightforward, and I could do it in Portuguese, which helped a lot.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We use the free version of the solution because the price is in dollars, making it expensive for where we are in Brazil.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the product nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to set up and has an updated design but needs better reporting functionality
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is super simple."
  • "I'm not really satisfied with the reporting aspect."

What is our primary use case?

Right now, I am just using the modular version of the product.

What is most valuable?

The export feature is very valuable to us. The export is nice due to the fact that there's a different way to find different formats. It's easy to modularize, with some flow. It's quite convenient. I didn't really use a simulator. I'm interested in it, however, I haven't used it yet.

In terms of navigation, when you're exporting HTML, it's good. It means you can go inside within the subprocess to get the view.

The initial setup is super simple.

What I like about Bizagi is you just add data. You say this user is using this in the flow chart, and then you add some forms. This is what I like about it.

There's a new design and it's more modern. They've even updated the logo. It's beginning to look much better.

What needs improvement?

I'm not really satisfied with the reporting aspect. It's not really nice. It's a bunch of data that isn't really organized for reporting. The design just isn't that great. The report should be concise and nicer looking - something you'd be proud to show to third parties.

I would be happy if I could use the studio and engine side. It has been redesigned. However, if I could use it for two to three months of intensive work, I'd have better relevant feedback.

I'd also like the capability to double click on the sub-process to access the corresponding tab directly instead of clicking on the right button. There needs to be a shortcut. Maybe there need to be more properties on each activity and each task.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for five to six years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Visio as well. Currently, in our company, we have a Peoplesoft and Pega system, however, I'm looking to implement Bizagi within the client environment. The Pega system is a bit too big for me. I'd like something that is easy to use.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is super easy. It's user-friendly to me. That's why I like Bizagi. The design itself is nice as well.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I used to be very pleased with the pricing. Now, it's a bit more complicated. I don't remember exactly, however, it might be $10 a month per user. I don't really remember.

Previously it was super easy to at least use a modular version. I'm not yet using the professional version.

I prefer to have a free solution to start with.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Bizagi is a great BPM tool, however, I am also interested in looking at Signavio, as there's a GMN inside with decision-making notation. I'm curious about KiSSFLOW as well and KiSSFLOW is really modern. I've never had a chance to use them, however.

What other advice do I have?

I was thinking to get a certification from Bizagi. I actually passed the first level, and have not yet done the ones where you purchase the professional site. I'm not using the professional version. Someone else from my company is studying the other levels on the professional version right now.

I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten, as I have yet to try Studio and the Engine.

I'm not a reseller. I'm just a consultant. I'm using some tools. I'm trying lots of tools and out of everything, Bizagi is my favorite right now. However, if there was no more free plan I might have to look for another option.

We'd be curious to learn how to become partners with Bizagi as we do have clients who want to use it as well.

Good price and easy to create different types of processes, but doesn't integrate with other solutions and not suitable for complex processes
Pros and Cons
  • "Its cost is the most valuable. It is not as expensive. It is also easy to make different types of processes for the users."
  • "Bizagi doesn't have integrations with other solutions, such as ERP systems. In the industry and your company, you have a lot of systems with which you need to integrate, but Bizagi doesn't have such integrations, which makes it very difficult. Its scalability can also be improved. It is good for a startup, but when you need something more complex, it is not good."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it for our processes. We have its latest version.

What is most valuable?

Its cost is the most valuable. It is not as expensive. It is also easy to make different types of processes for the users.

What needs improvement?

Bizagi doesn't have integrations with other solutions, such as ERP systems. In the industry and your company, you have a lot of systems with which you need to integrate, but Bizagi doesn't have such integrations, which makes it very difficult.

Its scalability can also be improved. It is good for a startup, but when you need something more complex, it is not good.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable. We have a good impression of its stability and don't have any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Its scalability is low. It is good for a startup, but when you need something more complex, this solution is not good. We have up to 50 users.

What about the implementation team?

We have two to five engineers for its deployment and maintenance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is not expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are evaluating Appian and OutSystems to replace Bizagi. Appian or OutSystems can be implemented locally. This technology is good for transformation.

What other advice do I have?

It is good for proof of concept. You can have a lot of issues if you don't know the features. It is a good solution, but when you have a complex problem, it is not enough.

I would rate Bizagi a five out of ten.

User friendly with quality options; very quick and easy to install
Pros and Cons
  • "Very user friendly and a professional solution."
  • "Difficult to export in formats other than PDF."

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case of this product is to draw processes. I don't deal with any of the automatization or other features. I'm a customer of Bizagi and I work at a consulting company in Spain.

What is most valuable?

The solution is very user friendly and the icons and options are high quality. I always use it as a modeler, not as a BPM.

What needs improvement?

The solution has issues when it comes to exporting in formats other than PDF, which is what I used to do. It's difficult sometimes to connect with a solution like Visio. For example, if I try to import, it's difficult because they don't keep the same pattern and process. The tools have been moved so I never connect Visio and Bizagi. The formats should be simplified, in my opinion. I'd like to be able to develop collaborative work but it's difficult to see how I could do this with Bizagi. Exporting is quite difficult and it's also impossible to attach documents. The design doesn't support this and it would be helpful if they could add this feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for almost four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't had any problems, this is a stable solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward, it took me maybe four or five minutes. The product doesn't require maintenance. They update every new version as it appears. Sometimes there is an issue because the program comes out in English first, and it can take two or three weeks before the Spanish version comes out. I generally wait two or three weeks until they bring out the Spanish version and that's when I download it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm using the free version so there are no licensing costs.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Visio is also currently used in the company. It's now integrated with Office 365 and this is an advantage that Bizagi lacks. I think Visio is probably easier to use because they have more libraries of icons and things like that. Bizagi focuses on BPM while Visio can be used for a lot of things because it has a lot of libraries and different topics, more functionalities than Bizagi.

One thing Bizagi could implement would be the option for collaborative work because it's difficult to work with another person the way things are now. In my view, the collaborative factor is underdeveloped in Bizagi. Visio is used by most people in the company, I'm the only one using Bizagi. I used to use it on a daily basis but only occasionally now.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution because it's easy to use and very quick to install.

I rate this solution a nine out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Actually, Bizagi has collaboration built-in. See https://help.bizagi.com/proces... for details on the Modeler collaboration.

You say there are issues with exporting? Which version of Bizagi are you using? We have no issue exporting Bizagi to PDF or Word, and with BPMN 2.0 compatibility, the ability to move models in and out is fairly direct.

Free solution used to visualize processes, but lacks quality integration opportunities
Pros and Cons
  • "This is a free solution that allows us to create quality visualizations for our company."
  • "The solution's interface could be a bit more user-friendly and I would like to see more integrations with other Office products, not just Office 365."

What is our primary use case?

I use this solution internally for my company to support departments that want to visualize their processes.

What is most valuable?

This is a free solution that allows us to create quality visualizations for our company.

What needs improvement?

The solution's interface could be a bit more user-friendly and I would like to see more integrations with other Office products, not just Office 365.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the product is fine, I have not had any issues in regards to this manner.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I don't have much to comment on the scalability as we use it as a standalone. We currently have about twenty to thirty people working on this solution locally who are a part of the design management team in addition to some consultants.

How are customer service and support?

I have not needed to contact support. All of the questions that I had were answered in the FAQ's.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was not too difficult. Though, the process during registration was not 100% clear, so this required a bit more time than I was expecting. All-in-all the process took ten to fifteen minutes.

What about the implementation team?

I was able to implement the solution by myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

This is a free solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We may decide to increase our usage in the future and may consider switching to Visio.

What other advice do I have?

Bizagi is a good, free solution for companies that do not need to make complex diagram or flows. For those looking to create more complex visualizations, such as electrical schedules, or if you want to integrate better with other standard products, I would suggest going with Visio.

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

The product lets users connect with flow chart elements with ease, but it is not suitable for complicated processes
Pros and Cons
  • "The product allowed users to connect with flow chart elements with ease."
  • "The solution was very limited."

What is our primary use case?

I used the solution for work. The solution helped us make process flow charts. It was specifically used for the BPMN process.

What is most valuable?

The product allowed users to connect with flow chart elements with ease.

What needs improvement?

The product did not work with very large and complicated charts. It became slow and barely usable. So, I stopped using it. The performance of the bigger charts must be improved. The import and export features must also be improved. There was a lot of trouble with exporting files that other people could use. The solution was very limited.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used the solution for two months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the tool’s stability a seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the tool’s scalability a five out of ten. I was the only person using the solution in my organization. I used it daily to complete everyday work tasks.

How are customer service and support?

The information was not readily accessible. It was mostly on forums. The product doesn't have a large section for frequently asked questions. If we send the team an email, it takes a very long time to get a response. It's not really useful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Tableau. I switched to Bizagi because I wanted to try it out. It was recommended as a good tool for BPMN.

How was the initial setup?

I rate the ease of setup a seven out of ten. We needed internet connectivity to access the product. It was one of the major disadvantages of the tool. The deployment took us minutes. It was fairly easy.

What about the implementation team?

I deployed the solution myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I was using the free version. The paid version was quite pricey. Bizagi was one part of a bigger solution. Three parts worked together as a whole system. Hence, the price was high. I rate the pricing a six out of ten.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was comparing Bizagi and Visio. There were some features that I liked about Bizagi. It had some user-friendly features.

What other advice do I have?

My recommendation depends on the needs of the person. If it's for complicated processes, then I wouldn't recommend it because it just gets slow and is barely workable. However, if it's for beginners who are learning BPMN, it is very good. It's self-explanatory. The solution explains the shapes and how they are used. Overall, I rate the tool a seven out of ten.

We moved our clients from Intalio BPMS to Bizagi
Pros and Cons
  • "With the appropriate governance framework, properly trained business analysts can be empowered to design and build business solutions themselves."
  • "Bizagi has been aggressively adding features to maintain its market-leading position, however, in some cases, this has impacted the stability of certain product builds."

What is our primary use case?

InnoVelocity is a leading independent specialist with Bizagi, with 12 expert consultants throughout the US having successfully delivered projects for 20+ customers over six years. InnoVelocity offers consulting packages ranging from short "kick start" and training engagements to long-term enterprise business transformation partnerships, and a full suite of services including Modeling/Analysis/Audit, RPA Implementation, BI/Analytics Implementation.

How has it helped my organization?

We work with clients in a variety of domains that are highly regulated or have strict compliance requirements - such as Healthcare, Financial Services, Government, Oil and Gas, and Manufacturing. In common with all of these, the ease of use and agility of the product have allowed for rapid response to regulatory changes, and the visibility/data/reporting and built-in history tracking ensure appropriate documentation to demonstrate compliance.

What is most valuable?

Bizagi offers great ease of use - building working solutions and making continuous improvements is very quick/agile and does not require a large technical team "behind the curtain" to assist with completing the application, resolving compilation and deployment issues, etc. With the appropriate governance framework, properly trained business analysts can be empowered to design and build business solutions themselves.

What needs improvement?

Bizagi has been aggressively adding features to maintain its market-leading position, however, in some cases, this has impacted the stability of certain product builds. Bizagi has been recently slowing down the pace of these changes and investing more in QA and support to address this concern, and we have seen some improvement in this area.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using the solution since 2015.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability has been improving of late with the aggressive investments Bizagi is making in support and QA.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

InnoVelocity has experience with enterprise-wide on-premise implementations of Bizagi and noted that the solution scales appropriately, so long as sufficient server resources are allocated and the correct configuration is applied. Bizagi is ending support for on-premise installations and moving all present and future customers to cloud, which runs on Azure.

How are customer service and support?

Customer Service:

The US Customer Success team is top notch and ensures that needs are proactively addressed.

Technical Support:

A support team is available with different levels of SLA/response through a ticketing system.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Intalio BPMS with a number of our key customers in the past, but the company had dissolved and sold its assets. As a trusted partner to our customers, we helped them evaluate different alternatives, and Bizagi was universally selected because of its ease of use.

What about the implementation team?

InnoVelocity is a specialist implementation partner for Bizagi, and we are often utilized to help clients in the US market stand up for the product and their development teams. Although the product is very easy to start using right away, it is highly advisable to ensure that in-house teams start their program with the most appropriate structures and best practices in place. Bizagi has been emphasizing their own professional services of late and is growing this team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The value proposition of the product compared to its competitors is strong. The usage-based pricing model is a better value for larger organizations with many users. Smaller companies looking for a lower-cost perpetual license may be advised to explore other options.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

When moving our key clients from Intalio BPMS to Bizagi, we assisted them in evaluating a number of other platforms against their requirements.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
Disclosure: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer: InnoVelocity is currently the leading US implementation partner for Bizagi, with 12 expert consultants throughout the US, InnoVelocity partners closely with customers to help them launch successful Digital Transformation programs - offering consulting packages ranging from short "kick start" and training engagements to long-term enterprise business transformation partnerships.
