Has the ability to customize and build out the platform to make it more useful and valuable

What is our primary use case?

We've done a lot of automation with the product in the last two years. We started with accounts receivable processes in finance. I would say like AR function is one of the most mature functions in the product right now because we almost automated all the aspects of accounts receivable. We have also started looking at automating the accounts payable process as well. I've only mentioned finance at this point, but we also have done a lot of automation with IT, as well as with procurement. Right now the penetration is higher with the support functions but we are also looking at different ways to… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "The ability to create automation itself is a benefit that reduces human error and enhances efficiency. Technical support is unsurpassed."
  • "It is difficult to learn all the possibilities that the product and automation itself offer."

What other advice do I have?

If I were to rate this product on a scale of one to ten where ten is the best, I would definitely rate them nine. It is not a ten because of what may be my ignorance of the entire Automation Anywhere platform. Probably I'm not aware or don't know the complete suite of assets. I'm not in a position to rate it a ten. To rate Automation Anywhere a ten means I should have complete knowledge of the product and I am sure there are things I have not yet explored. As far as advice, the normal tendency — and the mistake often made by organizations — would be to commit at the time of vendor selection by…

The tool helps with speed to market, efficiency, and accuracy

What is our primary use case?

We use it to automate a lot of data entry or do manipulation in regards to our ERP system. We are still pretty new with the solution. We have maybe a dozen wizards right now. Some of them are different variants of similar wizards. For the most part, it is used all around our ERP system. E.g., if we have a new product that we're going to make, we take the information from marketing and engineering. That gets handed off to the bot, then the bot enters that information into our ERP. This is a pretty intensive manual entry process. Everything that we use is on-premise.

Pros and Cons

  • "The bot is typically about twice as fast as a person and more accurate, as long as the data going in is good. That is the biggest advantage."
  • "The only unstable part is Studio where you build this stuff. In our version, the 5.25. It has a memory leak. If you leave it open for too long, eventually it just freezes. Saving your work, closing, and opening it just once a day is all it takes. However, this is a bug that I have noticed about the stability of the actual tool."

What other advice do I have?

I would really recommend the tool. I definitely see a lot of value with it. Just in the few release notes that I have read for some of the versions they've released since we installed it, it sounds like they are still adding a lot of features and functionality. We are very excited to get this upgrade under our belts and see what new things the new version brings to the table. It has been a great value-add for us personally and easy to use. We are happy with what we bought. No buyer's remorse here. The biggest challenge that we have had isn't even with the tool. It is with the business funding…

Running unattended processes and receiving daily reports has helped us become more efficient

What is our primary use case?

We are using attended and unattended robots, Orchestrator, and Studio. We are in the financial services industry. A lot of what we do is background data processing, and we use the unattended robots for a lot of it. We do have some attended robots as well, but most of our processes are unattended. I am a developer, so I primarily use Studio. I write the instructions for our Orchestrator Application Manager to do everything we need in Orchestrator. We are currently operating an on-premises deployment, but we're in the pilot group for Cloud, so as soon as we get a date on that we'll probably be… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "I think the most valuable feature is being able to run processes in an unattended way where we can schedule them, and then have the report sent to the process owner's inbox in the morning."
  • "I would like to see a biweekly scheduling option in Orchestrator."

What other advice do I have?

When I was in business school, they taught us that the things that users like the most are the things they didn't know they needed. I think UiPath does a great job of anticipating the users' needs, and they meet them before we knew that it was what we needed. I am excited about the next release. I recently had a discussion with my father, who works for one of the energy companies in my state. He works at the IT level but on the infrastructure side. When I explained to him our savings in terms of hours that we have had since adopting RPA, he was very excited and is now heading their RPA…

Enables us to serve various automation needs as both tech and business users

What is our primary use case?

We are using WorkFusion as our enterprise RPA solution at this time to help us deploy some automation. It is a hybrid-based installation. Eventually, we are going to try to move everything to the cloud. Some of our customers are dealing with transactions, trader solutions, governance compliance needs, and other special cases so it is not totally possible to go totally on the cloud at this time. There are also clients who deal with things like a KYC (Know Your Customer) type solution, and then a few operational needs like ATM reconciliation and financial revenue reconciliation. The regulations… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "The Robotic Desktop Automation Express component allows us to do rapid development outside the normal, time-consuming processes."
  • "The product could do more to expand its 'codeless' coding options by adding drag-and-drop assistance in building bots for non-technical users."

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would recommend this solution to other users. I have got nothing against UiPath or Blue Prism or any of those other products, and I think there are other options like Python people can make use of. But from my experience with this product, I certainly recommend it. On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate WorkFusion about an eight. Between a seven and an eight but on the high end of that range.

Good customer support but some technical issues need to be addressed

What is our primary use case?

I have used BotFarm to automate web applications and Microsoft products. I have also automated mainframe applications for a healthcare product. I automated around five to six processes for them. All together I have automated more than fifteen processes with this solution that we have deployed in-house.

Pros and Cons

  • "Automation Anywhere provides a very flexible UI."
  • "Sometimes I feel like it doesn't work properly and we are not able to provide the dexterity needed."

What other advice do I have?

It’s hard to give any advice without seeing the project you are working with. If you want to purchase any RPA tool, then I’d have to check the project or your process so that I can identify the requirement and I can see which product will completely fulfill your requirement. Make sure to choose your solution based completely on the project you wish to automate. In other words, I can’t give you any direct answer. If you’re automating a web application, then I would use UiPath. If you’re also automating their applications but you have to automate PDFs as well, then I would definitely choose…
