The solution is very stable and powerful.

The solution is very fast and an entire discovery can be done within 15 to 20 days. 

The solution is definitely useful.

BMC Helix Discovery is very intuitive. All of BMC's products are intuitive and simple to look at from a look-and-feel perspective. They have tabs like "discover," which means to discover something, "managing," which means you can manage something. They are very intuitive. If you know the language, you understand what it does.
Another thing is that it is easy to implement because BMC is a virtual appliance you can use in your environment. It's not like you have to install an operating system. Instead, you must install the binaries or dependencies before installing the application. It's a complete package in one bundle as a virtual appliance. You don't have to provide a machine or libraries or install dependencies or verifications. The solution is agentless and non-intrusive.

The tool's accuracy of the results we receive looks promising in general. Its values are more than 95 percent accurate compared to other clients or different tools. I would say that Discovery offers a valuable mechanism to discover information.

The new features of the blueprint open doors for platform teams within organizations. In manufacturing or service industries, specific platform levels of networks are available, and the product simplifies finding that information. Modeling is also easier.

Apart from these, there are many other features, but the most promising factor is user-friendliness. It's straightforward: scan it, and you'll get the result. Another important aspect is security. BMC Helix Discovery's visualization may not be available in other tools. Compliance metrics and results from Tenable and Splunk are promising, but they usually filter information. BMC Helix Discovery provides a holistic view, which is valuable.

I consider BMC Helix Discovery easy to learn, especially with proper training or one month of good mentorship.

The security is invaluable. The security features are great.

The security policy of the appliance and system architecture is configured at the highest level. The appliance credentials used to log in are stored in the credential vault, and this security feature is very valuable for security reasons.

Another valuable feature is that the content of the vault is secured using 256-bit AES encryption in CBC mode.

The Sync feature syncs found assets with CMDB and BMC Remedy Asset Management. 

There are a lot of supported protocols and device lists.

The most valuable feature is the automated service mapping.

The most valuable feature is Windows proxy. We now need to install an additional link proxy server in Windows. The proxy is available as an outpost in the Elastic store. That is the advanced feature is added.

There are many other features which can be used once we discover them. One time I was scanning the servers and all, going to data from additional based on the additional features, including advanced data like score upper display data successfully discover servers. There are many things good things that can be implemented using it while we haven’t installed those yet.

The data models are the most useful aspect of the solution.

The product has been quite stable. 

There are plenty of item capabilities that make the solution excellent.

The technical support is excellent and extremely helpful, even though they know we are not continuing with their product.

The scalability is pretty good.

The deployment is very fast.

We use it for all ITSM processes.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is easy to install and deploy. In general, BMC Helix Discovery works properly. The solution helps solve problems, so I have never witnessed any high-end problems.

The most valuable feature of BMC Helix Discovery is it operates well. It is well known and has gained recognition for its software.

The modeling, service mapping. The start anywhere application mapping approach is actually a really good solution for those who use map services.

1. It is agentless, which means you don't have to install anything on all the different pieces of hardware that you are looking to discover.
2. It now comes with a very flexible deployment solution, whether you want to keep it inside your data center or want to have the cloud, depending on if you're cloud forward or not.
3. The speed at which it's able to collect a wide-range of information, then make it useful for you, like asset management, knowledge management, and incident management. 

Those would probably be the three main tenants of why Discovery is valuable to a customer.

Next to a horizontal discovery, there is also a capability of dependency modeling enabling us to see relationships between CIs.

I've used other discovery tools, but I found BMC Helix Discovery to be more UI-friendly, and that's the most valuable feature of the solution.

A valuable feature concerns the ability to integrate with different solutions. BMC Helix Discovery can integrate with BMC Helix ITSM and ServiceNow ITSM. ServiceNow is another solution, and so BMC Helix Discovery provides the information and data about the devices. It is important to have visibility of the complete infrastructure in one's organization.
