What do you think of Automic Workload Automation?

Primary Use Case We do many basic things with it for the SAP system on Windows. We also use it with many with other communication systems. For example, we sell it as an iPhone 5.  As a system, you can examine many pictures from the company. I must catalog these pictures with the names and architects, therefore we have many file transfers. For example, we take information from the SAP system and send it to Azure from the automation engine. • Improvements to My Organization Our company uses it to connect different systems. That is a big feature of the system and platform. We are a small company. The system runs fine. We have no performance problems. • Room for Improvement There are too many functions and features in the system. The basic must run first. Refine the basics...

Tivoli Workload Scheduler Solution Architect at a non-tech company with 10,001+ employees

What is most valuable?

Dynamic scheduling: This is one feature which helped us achieve some important business objectives without the need to install TWS on a server. Some of the servers in our organization have restricted access and dynamic scheduling helped us schedule jobs on these servers without the need to install TWS.

What needs improvement?

* Monitoring * Reporting TWS doesn’t have in-built monitors to capture and report READY/INTRO state jobs. In our environment, we use TWS to schedule jobs in SAP and without an in-built monitor to capture these, we use custom-built scripts to report jobs stuck in READY/INTRO state.

What is most valuable?

* Cross platform scheduling * Built-in file transfer * Batch impact management * Self-service They are all such valuable tools. Though, the ability to dynamically predict batch run time is so valuable.

How has it helped my organization?

Cross platform scheduling has transformed how we run our estate workload. It is just so much more efficient now as we can tie together all the workloads across the estate and make the whole process reactive to events.

What needs improvement?

It is a very strong product, but the reporting could be better. I know BMC is working on this feature and hope to see some improvements in future releases.
