Functional virtual assistance and highly scalable solution
Pros and Cons
  • "It is highly scalable. I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten."
  • "There is room for improvement in the support."

What is most valuable?

There are many valuable features like Trinity, which is a functional virtual assistant, user-defined policies, and provides compliance reporting.

There are multiple features depending on the user's requirements. The dashboard is pretty good, and it serves us well.

What needs improvement?

Pricing is a big one. We can make it more competitive. Other things I can see are SQL and the slide on the top. And pricing. Cambium add more features to the SQL functionality.

Basically, the process of working with switching switches is a source bundle. Cambium add more features to the record server.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. It has very good stability. I would rate it a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There are around 20 to 30 users at a time. It is highly scalable. I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

There is room for improvement in the support. As for the MPMs (Managed Performance Metrics) on the pricing portal, no one was there to guide me on how to access the pricing information.

I needed the support to be more hands-on. I would have liked a video tutorial training.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment took one to two working days. There was a team who deployed the solution. However, I am the only one who maintains the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Honestly, compared to other brands, I would rate Cambium seven on pricing, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend using the solution. Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Cost effective solution but could use some updated features
Pros and Cons
  • "What I find valuable is the fact that you don't need to purchase any license. Basically you just get the hardware for the access points, configure an IP and connect it with a switch."
  • "I think this product could be improved if It were SMS based. If I have a visitor in my office, I'd like to be able to send them the wireless password as a message via SMS, so I don't have to give it out."

What is most valuable?

What I find valuable is the fact that you don't need to purchase any license. Basically you just get the hardware for the access points, configure an IP and connect it with a switch.

What needs improvement?

I think this product could be improved if It were SMS based. If I have a visitor in my office, I'd like to be able to send them the wireless password as a message via SMS, so I don't have to give it out.

I would like to see some type of blocker device. I need to block certain devices that should not be present in my organization or in my network.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Cambium for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good.

How are customer service and support?

I think support could be better and more efficient.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very easy and only took about five minutes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is no licensing cost, just the initial fee for the solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I also evaluated Meraki.

What other advice do I have?

I give this product a seven out of ten.

This is a cost-effective solution and you can get many benefits from it, but you don't get 100% of what you need. You're getting 70 to 80 percent benefit with the Cambium, as opposed to other solutions that cost more.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

A user-friendly tool that is easy to deploy
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution's coverage range is good, it is easy to use, and deployment is very easy and user-friendly."
  • "If someone wants to go to the location-based portal of the product, like the one available in Meraki, it would not be possible, and it is an area that needs improvement."

What is our primary use case?

In my company, we use the AP mode of Cambium Networks Wireless WAN since there is no use of a wireless controller.

What is most valuable?

The solution's coverage range is good, it is easy to use, and deployment is very easy and user-friendly.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes, I have found some roaming issues related to the solution. I did not blame Cambium for the aforementioned issue I found in the product since it is an overall good solution.

If someone wants to go to the location-based portal of the product, like the one available in Meraki, it would not be possible, and it is an area that needs improvement. Cambium Networks Wireless WAN's dependencies on third-party API integrations is an area with scope for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Cambium Networks Wireless WAN for a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution's stability is okay.

Stability-wise, I rate the solution an eight to eight and a half out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution.

In my company, 40 to 45 users handle the product.

If the number of users increases, the performance of the access point will decrease. If the number of clients and users who use the solution increases, then they can get another access point for themselves.

How are customer service and support?

For the wireless solution, I didn't use any support from Cambium, so I don't have any idea about Cambium's support.

How was the initial setup?

The product is easy to deploy.

The product's setup phase is easy since you just need to connect to the wireless solution, go to the dashboard, and do some access point configuration, which is a very easy process.

During the deployment process, you just connect to the access points and do the access point configuration, which is a very easy deployment process.

The product's deployment phase for one access point takes an hour and a half.

What about the implementation team?

In our company, one of our in-house teams takes care of the product's deployment process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing part of the solution is not very expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Another option for Cambium Networks Wireless WAN is from D-Link. My company chose Cambium, considering the comfort that the product's stability and pricing areas provide us over other tools.

What other advice do I have?

I can recommend the solution to those who plan to use it, but it all depends on the budget of those who want to buy it.

I rate the overall product a nine out of ten.

Is reasonably priced but needs more user friendly configuration software
Pros and Cons
  • "Technical support has been good."
  • "The installation and configuration are a bit complex."

What is our primary use case?

It is good for small hospitals and small shops because they are places where there are more people in a small area.

What is most valuable?

It is reasonably priced and has good technical support.

What needs improvement?

I think the installation and configuration could be easier. A bit more user friendly software for configuration would be good.

The stability could be improved as well.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using it for a couple of months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I think it could be more stable.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support has been good.

How was the initial setup?

The installation was a bit complex. It took about an hour or two for one access point.

What about the implementation team?

We used a vendor team during implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think the pricing is fine for Cambium.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Cambium at six, on a scale from one to ten. The price and technical support are good, but the installation is a bit complex.

Stable with good performance and an easy initial setup
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is easy to handle. It's quite simple."
  • "The solution needs to add an LTE solution and/or something in 3.5GHz."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution as an internet service provider to the end-user, individual user, for direct collaboration, and in the government offices.

What is most valuable?

Cambium is really nice. I used to use Ubiquiti and that solution was fine for a while. However, Cambium is better because as they have eEPMP 400. In Africa, you need a low price. You also need to get a lot of customers.

In terms of performance, even in small items, everything is very good.

The initial setup is easy to handle. It's quite simple.

What needs improvement?

The solution isn't as well known in the country. Most people are more familiar with Ubiquiti, and that solution has a lot of other options.

Pricing isn't ideal and could be improved.

The solution can sometimes be very slow and clunky.

The solution needs to add an LTE solution and/or something in 3.5GHz.

For how long have I used the solution?

I originally started working with the solution in 2014. It's been a number of years now since I was first introduced to the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is quite stable. It's very reliable for our clients. It doesn't crash or freeze. It doesn't seem to have bugs or glitches.

That said, sometimes, for streaming in the country, we have issues. They're just minor. It's not a big problem.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is quite scalable. If a company needs to expand the solution, they should be able to.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never personally dealt with technical support, therefore I can't speak to their level of service.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We've used Ubiquiti in the past and prefer Cambium over Ubiquiti. There were a lot of problems previously and customers were complaining it wasn't working right, so we had to abandon Ubiquiti. Now the customers seem to be content.

In some cases, we still use Ubiquiti, although it's rare now. We also occasionally use an AT&T PS 300.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not complex. It's very easy to implement.

The deployment is almost instantaneous. It only takes a minute.

You only need one person to handle deployment and maintenance.

What about the implementation team?

We implement this solution for our clients as a service provider.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is a bit pricey. There are extra costs, for example, for equipment or hardware that isn't included, such as cables, etc. It's not too expensive, however.

What other advice do I have?

We're a service provider and a customer. We're working with an older version of the product. We have ePMP 2000 and we want to upgrade to 3000, which we will be doing soon. We plan to use the solution into the future.

I'd recommend the solution, and recommend everyone uses PMP.

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. It's worked very well for us.

Easy to maintain and a scalable solution
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a stable solution."
  • "The solution's price could be better."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for enterprise Wi-Fi access points service.

What is most valuable?

The solution is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

The solution's price could be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using the solution for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution, and I rate its stability as an eight.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. We have customers working with more than 50 units of the solution.

How are customer service and support?

The solution's customer service is good.

How was the initial setup?

The complexity of the solution's initial setup depends on specific outdoor infrastructure. Its deployment involves multiple factors, including equipment, electricity, bandwidth, wall mounts, technical design, radio design, IP engineering, etc. It requires approximately a day to complete and varies from project to project.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is an expensive solution.

What other advice do I have?

Cambium is easy to install, maintain and work with. I advise others to make the purchase decision based on their requirements.

I rate the solution as an eight.

Stable, easy to deploy, easy to learn, and good service
Pros and Cons
  • "It is easy to deploy, and it is not that complicated. There are a lot of systems that are very complicated, and they require a special kind of training. Their response is also very slow, especially with the Chinese vendors, but with Cambium, we have not faced any issues. Everything is going well in terms of cooperation from Cambium. We are happy with them, their services, their cooperation, and their quick response. They are just amazing."
  • "If they could move from the fixed wireless point to mobile, it will make a big change in the market. The cnPilot coverage should be covering big spaces. It should also have an external antenna, not a built-in antenna."

It is easy to deploy, and it is not that complicated.

They are just amazing.

What needs improvement?

If they could move from the fixed wireless point to mobile, it will make a big change in the market.

The cnPilot coverage should be covering big spaces. It should also have an external antenna, not a built-in antenna.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for a couple of years. I am using its latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable.

How are customer service and technical support?

We open a ticket, and they respond to us quickly. Somebody calls us within a day.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to work in mobile spaces with NEC, Ericsson, and Nokia. This is the first time we are working with Cambium for Wi-Fi.

How was the initial setup?

It is easy to install, and we have all the required material from Cambium. If there is anything that we share with them, they are able to deliver on the spot and tell us how to do and what to do.

We are generally able to finish deployments in one or two days. The deployment duration can vary, but that is not because of Cambium. It usually is because the wiring and the power are not ready at a customer's site.

What about the implementation team?

We have our own team to handles this. We have four people at the moment for Cambium networks. We have a CTO and four trained engineers.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Its price is in the middle range.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution. I am very pleased with Cambium. It is competing in the market, and it has a good future. Cambium is growing up quickly. In the upcoming years, I can see it as a huge technology. With cnWave and the 5 gigahertz, they will take a very big share of the market worldwide. They are doing something amazing with cnMaestro.

I would rate Cambium a nine out of ten.
