What is our primary use case?

Our company uses this product for the automation of core banking processes. I'm an enterprise architect and team manager and we are partners with Camunda.

What is most valuable?

We are system integrators, and the value of Camunda for us is that it's easy to integrate into the products and applications we provide for our customers. The product is based on BPMN and is closely integrated with that standard. It's not complicated and generally easy to use, particularly for students and junior developers who come to learn from us as part of their studies.

What needs improvement?

It would be helpful if the solution had additional out-of-the-box activities.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for about a year. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product is scalable. 

How are customer service and support?

We use the Camunda community if we have any problems. We haven't needed to engage directly with any level of support from Camunda. The company arranged some learning sessions before we started using the solution and we already had a lot of experience with other platforms. 

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward. 

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We're using the open-source version of the solution. 

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Activiti as a possible alternative to Camunda but we decided to go with Camunda. 

What other advice do I have?

If you're considering an open-source tool, I would recommend Camunda and rate it eight out of 10.

Camunda Platform is better than IBM BPM, and Azure. It is more elaborate.  It is divided across the platform. The integration is separated as well as the UI, and the internal work. It also integrates well.

I would like to see better pricing.

You log into the Camunda website and download the folder to install it directly.

The installation process took 20 to 25 minutes.

We configured the integration and the UI.

Generally, the price could be better, as well as the licensing fees. 

What other advice do I have?

We have not yet explored all that Camunda Platform offers.

We would recommend this solution to others who are considering using it.

I would rate Camunda Platform a nine out of ten.

The most valuable feature is the scheduling.

What needs improvement?

The upfront enterprise-level support could have been better. They need improvement.

The initial set up could be simplified, it's complex.

I would like to see better sales support, upfront implementation, and more a more wizard-like walkthrough with the next release.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Camunda BPM for three months.

We are using the most recent version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a stable solution. 

We have not had any issues in the three months that we have been using it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have not done any scaling yet.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support is good. 

We have more of an issue with sales support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use another solution previously. Camunda was our first choice.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was complex and it took us five days to deploy it.

Licensing costs are anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 USD per year.

What other advice do I have?

For anyone who is interested in using Camunda BPM, I would recommend reading the documentation. 

The documentation is good and can be easily accessed online.

I am happy with Camunda BPM.

I would rate Camunda BPM an eight out of ten.

The modeler and REST APIs are valuable, but the user interface needs improvement

What is our primary use case?

We are doing some development around Camunda, so it is not live right now. It is for a local government organization that wants to map some specific processes on Camunda.

I am using its latest version.

What is most valuable?

The modeler is useful for creating the flow. The way to access the data through their REST API is also valuable. This is what we're using right now.

The way to create workflows is straightforward, which is one of the major benefits of the Camunda platform.

What needs improvement?

The user interface needs some polishing because it is too technical for end-users to use it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for one month.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It has been stable so far. There is no problem with it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have not yet scaled it or integrated it.

How are customer service and support?

We just use the forums that they have.

How was the initial setup?

It took a while, but I believe it was more related to us; it was not specific to Camunda.
