Nilesh Pawar
Director - Cloud Architecture at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees
We use the solution for Process Mining for Order To Cash, Procure2Pay, and Finance (AR,AP) processes. O2C process was identified for mining as it spans multiple departments. Celoni from Order Management, Planning, Operations, and Finance and leveraging O2C Process Cockpit, we were able to quickly get details insights, anomalies, and discover bottlenecks.
We were able to understand how process variants have organically grown, with huge deviations, delays, human touches, reworks, and huge cycle times between department handovers. The potential Opportunity Cash Value identified was around $19 million.
Celonis EMS is hosted on Cloud integrated to Oracle EBS R12 on-prem database using an on-prem DB link agent.

We use the solution for process mining, BI dashboarding, machine learning, data science, pattern matching, optimization, and as a triggering point for automations.
Most of our use cases are related to supply chain, procurement, and logistics in manufacturing.
We have 12 to 15 developers and hundreds of end users.

We have done ITSM. And for Citibank, we have done some process mining. I have done it for Citibank. And for accounts payable, we have done it for one of our clients. For resolution time and DSOs, on-time deliveries, all this is what we have done.
View full review »The main use cases for Celonis are twofold. Firstly, it involves the end-to-end implementation of Celonis for various business processes so that clients can monitor their business processes. Secondly, there's a secondary use case related to internal audits. Here, we analyze one to two years of data to identify process inefficiencies and other pain points.

View full review »I use the solution for process mining. We create dashboards for auditing activities. In the insurance industry, the throughput time is essential. We ensure we deliver insurance within seven or fourteen days, depending on whether it is for personal or commercial purposes. We also use it for standardizing the processes within the organization. We try to reduce the variance within the processes by discovering the variants and standardizing and improving the processes.
View full review »If we deal with finance and accounts, we can do process mining for our customers' accounts payable processes. Within the accounts payable, we can observe the flow and invoices. We can see how many days it takes and which invoices are processed right the first time. We can also generate the process flow using Process Explorer.
In addition, some dashboards display the day's outstanding payables and show how many invoices are pending. It helps us know how much money is lost and how to get discounts or pay the full amount.

View full review »We use the tool for supply chain transformation. The tool has helped us find the bottlenecks in the supply chain like where the delay occurred in delivery, payment, etc. We had to extract two years' of data from the SAP system and an internal tool. We fed the data into Celonis and it created a process map for us with hundreds of variations. It has helped us see where exactly the bottleneck was. The tool has also helped us generate a lot of reviews and KPIs. It has helped us to find the problem and the remedy through process optimization.

I use the full process to list purchases for materials, as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable.
We're using this solution for process mapping, analysis, and data mining. Right now, we're mapping customer journeys in retail space and product onboarding journeys.
We are focused on the merchandising space. For example, in merchandising, there will be a lot of processes. There's product onboarding and pricing promotions, etc. We map the journey and then try to understand what are the hiccups in the current processes and then identify them and then automate those strategies.
Celonis gives us our consulting licenses separately. We use those licenses for a quick study for the customer place and then recommend it. If the customer is willing to go ahead and implement Celonis, then we'll go for the corporate license model.
I'm a consultant and we primarily work with retailers.

I had prepared a proof of concept regarding segregation of duty. We used to have a lot of problems with the segregation of duties of SAP. The solutions that we use are ServiceNow, SAP, and one other. SAP has three systems, the first one is the main enterprise system, the second is the AP one, which is used for planning, and the third is the CRM system.
We also have something called DW, which is a data warehousing system. I was mostly in the security sphere, such as segregation of duties. There's no automatic role provisioning for the users who have joined the company or who are supposed to use SAP. We need to provide the accesses manually. We have to analyze the risk for each of the roles by using the GRC tool in SAP. It's an intensive manual process. There used to be a lot of problems while giving the rules, and while giving the rules, there are different markets. This company operates in 64 different countries, such as Uganda, Budapest, India, and Sri Lanka. These countries have different rules to define into it. For example, a user in the UK shouldn't have access to India. There is no possibility that we can trace it because there is no standard flow. There is no way you can pass through the data or event logs through this because there is no foolproof way of preparing a workflow.
In Celonis, you have something called a Petri net. Petri net is a token-based entry system, which helps you to find out the way how the event logs work. You have something called concurrence, which means if a PO or an invoice creation can happen at the same time, a process mining tool will not pick these two activities in their chronological order, because they might have happened at the same time. However, a token-based approach would have been better and more accurate. You would know that this particular event was passed, but this event is supposed to pass on the fourth or fifth phase of the tokenization. This was not the situation we had. The Petri net is complicated compared to a Google DMN flow. Google DMN flow is easier.

The idea is to track the entire process, from onboarding a vendor, issuing a purchase requisition (PR), getting a quotation, and creating a purchase order (PO).
Celonis helps identify deviations, delays, reworks, and quality issues within that process. It reveals things like which vendor types or invoice categories tend to have the most issues. These are the insights we can get from the data.
View full review »Celonis helps to understand the processes within a company. For example, if you are an insurance company, you can use it to check how the end user or the person who's doing data entry of underwriting is performing their tasks. You can also analyze the flow of insurance and determine how it should be done. This can help you reduce your costs by 30 to 40 percent.
Additionally, you can use Celonis to define and optimize your existing processes. By doing this, you can derive the perfect process mapping and customer claims processing can be streamlined. Celonis can be used for various processes, including underwriting, procurement, and end-customer claims.

One main use case is to see change in price, why the change in price is happening? What are the plans associated with it? What can be done in the action engine? You have smart price detection. Based upon the smart price detection, it'll give you three options. Either you update the price in the master data, or you notify the procurement user accordingly.

We use the interface data of our clients, from which we take timestamps of every activity. Based on these timestamps, we create the process flows that are happening in their organizational systems. This process is solely predicated on our use of Celonis and not on any understanding on our part. When I accept the timestamp, it will create a process by a certain time based on it or on the occurrence of the activity. So, suppose a purchase order was approved today and created tomorrow, the solution will create the flow based on the bank time.
The solution also allows for visualizations. We can use it for the monitoring of continuous controls, with auto-commissioning being the end result. The solution contemplates segregation of duty.
The solution shines and we can implement it in multiple ways. We can make use of it for conducting internal audits and continuous conscious monitoring.

In terms of our primary use case, for example, we use data mining for the procurement processes. Let's say the company purchased keyboards and mice from vendors for certain prices, for example, $10 for each mouse in 2017. But after 2019, we purchased the same mouse for a different amount. With the help of data mining, we can identify different costs. Celonis does background research into the data from the different solutions and puts it into the dashboard so we can see the differences between the pricing over the previous years.
