Check Point Pointsec [EOL], in the 2000s, was one of the pioneers in information security with its new analysis and security on mobile devices. This tool marked an era of innovative features. It had such as disk encryption, secure authentication, centralized administration, and password management. It was a tool that revolutionized the security market. 

In our case, it helped us a lot in maintaining well-secured equipment and providing confidence to each of our collaborators.

Some features that were commonly considered valuable are:

  • Full disk encryption helps us ensure that data stored on a device is encrypted.
  • Removable media encryption helps us encrypt data stored on removable media, such as USB drives and external hard drives.
  • Centralized management helps manage encryption policies and keys from a central location.
  • Compliance reporting helps us comply with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS.

These and other features made Check Point Pointsec an excellent tool for security and compliance.

One of the characteristics that give us the most value is that it offers the ability to perform HTTPS inspections. It manages to scan and protect the SSL encryption that passes through the gateway, and the gateway decrypts the traffic with the public key of the sender. They review, analyze, secure, and then re-encrypt the content so that the encrypted content that passes through our SWG and back to the sender. It is also important to understand that data such as banks or health centers can be omitted due to privacy issues, and thus users are more relaxed about personal and financial security issues.
