Like other solutions, first, we did a review of the security tools offered on the market. That's how we got to know Check Point. Some others we looked into include:Palo Alto Networks, Symantec, and Trend Micro.

We evaluated Cisco ASA and FortiGate.

I evaluated other options and my main focus was looking for something robust. That was my main goal. At that time I was working on completing my certification in Check Point, and as I learned about Check Point I really liked the solution.

I bought only the hardware, and used an open server license for the rest. CheckPoint would not suggest it, but it works for me.

We evaluated Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet.

We also evaluated Fortinet.

We also looked at Cyberoam, Cisco ASA and Fortinet.

No other options were evaluated.

We did not evaluate any alternative solutions.
