What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are really the same as our primary use for the product: intelligent handling of potential email attacks and offloading or load-balancing. This… more»

How has it helped my organization?

It provides a solution for protecting our infrastructure from malicious email attacks without having to use a lot of internal resources to support the product.

What needs improvement?

One aspect of the product that can be improved is the availability of support. We don't have the availability of support 24/7, and it takes some time to get answers. These… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Barracuda Email Security Gateway is sort of a mid-range price high-end solution. The pricing is scalable depending on the volume of use.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used three advanced email security systems, including Trend Micro (InterScan), Cisco IronPort, and Barracuda Email Security Gateway. All three are good solutions… more»

What other advice do I have?

As far as advice to other organizations considering this solution, I would generally recommend the product. But it depends. I can recommend Barracuda as a user because I… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

In our choice of a product to use as an email security system, I mostly went by previous experience in using Trend Micro and Cisco IronPort. These are two other very good… more»

What needs improvement?

The reporting functionality needs to be improved, as it is not customizable. The dashboards can also be improved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Licensing is a yearly subscription that is based on the number of users. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I do not have experience with any other solutions.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to anybody considering this solution is to first evaluate the product and understand the features that they need. See whether the solution is capable of handling… more»

What is most valuable?

The solution helps me to do internal routing and to configure interfaces. FortiMail works on the profile.

What needs improvement?

I would like it if the solution could be more affordable.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My company pays around 28.000 Egyptian Pounds per year for this program. It is rather expensive in my opinion.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

My company previously used a software but when using an anti-spam solution as a hardware, it's better than an application, because an application could be corrupted.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this program a ten out of ten, because it's configured right. The person who configured it actually knows what the real function of anti-spam is. It protects me from cryptography. I do see some… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We compared it to Sophos, but it is more for users that aren't IT experts. It is so easy that anyone can use it - even my young child can configure Sophos. But for Fortinet, you need an IT expert… more»

What is most valuable?

The encryption features are most valuable to us.

What needs improvement?

I've not been able to use more than two domains in the back end. I like to view logs for the different domains. If I add any other domain I'm not able to get a proper cPanel for that domain. I am… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It should cost around $60,000. We bought it as a bundle, so everything comes together in the license. That is standard.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Check Point which has a feature for email security. I switched because Check Point didn't have a separate solution for email, it was just bundled together with their firewall.

What other advice do I have?

From my experience, this tool is able to protect the network. I would definitely recommend this solution. I would rate it as nine out of ten.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also evaluated IronPort from Cisco. There's an email security solution from Cisco.
