I think we have seen ROI in regards to integrating with an external MDM to enforce greater security requirements for business managed devices that aren't Active Directory joined.
View full review »I don't know what the investment was, because I'm not involved in the pricing aspect of it. But there's no way for us to run a secure, reliable, user access or device administration access without something like ISE. The return on the investment, I think, is great. It's integral to our network so I don't know what we would do without ISE.
View full review »In the cybersecurity space, return on investment is something that is very difficult to justify. ISE is something that is a pure network cybersecurity resiliency solution.
I can definitely assure my management that by implementing this, we are good in the overall cybersecurity posture.

The product has helped us save money drastically. We were able to get rid of two different service contracts. We could invest more into the solution or into people that can help us administer it. So it's been nice. We save quite a bit of money getting rid of those other products.
View full review »The company does see a return on investment. We definitely use it a lot more than we thought it would be used. I can be used for something as simple as a wrong password, which is something that everyone does in the office, especially right after updating it all the way to something as complicated as if a site has a specific switch or router that depends on it, and it's down, and there's some sort of phishy activity happening. So it is definitely an investment that we all like and appreciate. We do feel that we're getting back what we paid for.
View full review »We have witnessed a return on investment with Cisco ISE due to the protection it offers to our environment and the capability of 802.1X to assist in managing security risks.
View full review »We've seen an ROI. They last a very long time. For example, we have Cisco Campus, which is the next 7000s that we put in 2012, and ten years later, they're still there. We just changed the supervisor modules. However, the chassis is still sitting there and is still working quite fine.
If I'm not mistaken, it's at end of sales already, however, its end of support is in 2024. That's what I like about their products. They support their product for a very, very long time. They easily last for ten years. Even our access switches, which are 4900s, are just being switched out now. Those have been in since probably 2010.
We spend $1.5 million as we have two switches on every single floor. Those are the ones that we're changing out now, and they still work quite fine. Cisco just decided to change them. Their products are very solid and they don't break. We keep them for a very long time. Therefore, the return on investment is not bad. I know when I put it in that I don't need to look at it again for ten more years. I know it's going to be supported for that long.

The solution helped me by making my job easier. I manage and deploy the solution. All the other users have to do is log in and look at what they need to do. The product makes it easy for me to manage and enables the end users to log into other systems.
View full review »It's difficult to say whether the clients have seen an immediate ROI with the deployment of the Identity Services Engine. Oftentimes, you have to take on additional technologies in the ISE product family in order to receive that comprehensive benefit. So I think only time will tell what the true ROI is. I can tell you that the value exchange that occurs between a partner and a client when we're talking about everything within the Cisco security portfolio being fully integrated together and working comprehensively has been an enormous advantage to customers who today have a complex act of multi-vendor products. Being able to consolidate on a platform-based solution is an incredibly powerful story to tell, and it's also incredibly powerful from a cost-benefit standpoint as well.
View full review »In terms of ROI for Cisco ISE, I'm not sure what we paid to begin with, but I know that it's indispensable, since it is our only gateway for wireless users to connect. Also that it's flexible for us to school up new user grow groups fairly easily.

Network Analyst at a healthcare company with 10,001+ employees
In terms of return on investment, I would like to think that we've seen a significant return on investment with Cisco ISE. Just looking at it purely from my perspective, in terms of time-saving, if we consider this impact on a single person and then scale it over two to three thousand employees when you multiply that data on a day-to-day basis, the time-saving is tremendous. Moreover, in terms of solutions, having the ability to keep things integrated and manage them through a single pane of view adds to the benefits. I believe the return on investment goes beyond just the financial aspect. It extends to mental well-being, reduction in stress, and as employees. It's really great.
Our ROI is that once clients have a Cisco system installed, they tend to stick with Cisco. They'll upgrade to the latest Cisco product rather than looking at any other vendors.

If I were to comment on the return of investment on ISE, I don't really know where to begin because it was something we never did before. It was somewhere where we were lacking. We just didn't have the time or the manpower to do what ISE will do for us.
I'm sure someone out there can crunch the numbers and quantify the ROI on stopping an attack or a breach, but I don't have those numbers and thankfully, we haven't had one yet.
For us, we didn't have the manpower to do it right. Implementing ISE has saved us the need to invest in that manpower.

The return on investment we have seen is related to time in terms of troubleshooting. The logs, such as the security logs, inform us of the issues that people have had. ISE has been very instrumental in helping isolate those issues. We've seen a lot of cost savings because we don't have to pay an IT person to waste time doing something that should be instantaneous.

In terms of ROI, the only thing that comes to mind is if you look at whatever the current market data says for a breach cost if you have ransomware attack or something, if you choose to rebuild your network, as opposed to paying the ransom, what does that cost? Is that $100,000 a day? Is that a million dollars a day? So whatever that cost is, go look at the cost of the NAC licensing, ISE or ClearPass. And that answers the question for you. If you can block the threats on the front end, you can avoid the whole ransomware conversation.
