Integration is much easier than with competitor products such as Ubiquiti because it allows for segmentation inside the network.

The solution's life cycle is long at around ten years.

I can't think of any specific feature in particular. We use it as a simple L2 switch. The solution is flexible to use because the solution consists of unmanaged switches. One needs to just plug in and play it. However, I am not sure about the performance because we are using unmanaged switches, so I can't comment on the performance part, including its commercial part.

Cisco's product is excellent and highly stable with decades of experience in switching and technology. It's a top-notch solution when your entire network operates within the Cisco ecosystem, allowing for a wide range of capabilities. However, the challenge with Cisco lies in its prioritization. When integrating with third-party solutions, like Juniper, it can be somewhat challenging, but it still performs reasonably well. Setting up Cisco switches is not a straightforward process; it's complex and requires more than simply powering them on and figuring things out as you go. You need a solid understanding of switch and stack configuration because Cisco has its unique software features. Cisco excels in vendor lock-in, meaning that if you want to combine Cisco switches with non-Cisco functionality, it can be both time-consuming and costly. While Cisco offers the most extensive capabilities, it can also be less flexible and more challenging when you want to deviate from the Cisco ecosystem.

I think the most valuable feature of Cisco Switches is basically the ease of use, the ease of management. The most important thing may be the support. Support is available and having access to good support has been the difference all along as a user of Cisco products. The most important thing about product support is that everything is made very available. Most of this stuff — I would say more than 90% of the technical stuff — is available online. Anybody can just go online and Google their questions, problems, or what they want to find out about and just download the documents and then get to work with the product. Some other products are good products, but there is not so much good technical information out there to support the products. Those products become less useful and less fully utilized.

In a previous use case, we deployed Linksys Switches for blocking unwanted signals within a premises with the help of their clean air technology. This was one of the notable advantages of Linksys Switches over Cisco. For SMBs, Cisco and D-Link are a better option. In terms of enterprise-level companies, Cisco is preferred due to its optimisation quality during high traffic. There are many valuable features of Linksys Switches which include speed support and manageability. This makes them comparative with local brands and also much secure due to its security features. In terms of reliability and time, Cisco still ranks higher than its' competitors.

Their speed and their ability to handle the network well are the most significant aspects of the product. I remember an incident where we bought a different unbranded switch and had many network issues. We had to discard it and buy a Cisco switch. Once some routers and switches from China were installed, the network became very problematic. The only solution was to buy a Cisco switch, replace it, and it was able to handle the network reasonably well, the users and everything. The bandwidth was perfect after replacing those with Cisco. I trust the products from that perspective. They're able to deliver where they promise.

What I find truly remarkable about Linksys Ethernet switches is that it offers great value at an unbeatable price point. We have been using Linksys ethernet switches for the past four years and it just gets the job done at a very low price. With Cisco acquiring Linksys and repackaging it as Cisco Small Business, that just attests to how good this product line is and the value that it brings to your business. This also validated our decision to go for Linksys switches for our mainstream work group switches before we decided to go for Cisco Catalyst. We are still using the old Linksys-branded SLM224G4 as well as the Cisco-branded SFE2000 24-port ethernet switches. Aesthetically, the old Linksys switches look better than the new ones.
