How are customer service and technical support?

We have dealt with Cisco's technical support in the past and we are satisfied with the service.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have experience with similar products by other vendors such as Aruba and Arista, and we prefer products by Cisco.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very easy. The length of time required for deployment depends on the situation at the client's site, in terms of readiness. It will also vary depending on the number of switches and routers that are in-place or need to be installed.

Generally, the deployment will not take more than two hours.

What other advice do I have?

This is a product that we recommend over other similar ones by other vendors.

I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

Very easy installation, stable, and scalable

What is our primary use case?

We're using Meraki for our AP. We're also using Meraki for our SD-WAN.

The visibility of the site is most useful.

What needs improvement?

Its licensing can be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is pretty stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have scaled it. There is no problem. We have 230 users, and they don't even know that it exists.

How was the initial setup?

It is straightforward and very easy. It is basically plug-and-play. It is very quick. It probably takes more time to actually do the physical installation.

What about the implementation team?

I did one site myself. The rest were done by others. They were IT guys.

We have four people for deployment and maintenance. They are SMEs or system specialists.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Its price is okay for an enterprise. Its licensing is the most painful. If you hear anything bad about Cisco, it's about that. We're supposed to be one of the resellers but had to come back down to become a user. It's really bizarre.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options. It was a long ago.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN an eight out of 10.

Scalable, robust, and it can be deployed on the cloud and on-premises

What is our primary use case?

We have deployed this solution both on private cloud and on-premises across at least 100 distinct locations.

We have been using Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN for approximately four years.

It is very stable, very resilient, and very robust.

We don't have any challenges with the scalability so far. From our experience, it's quite scalable.

On a daily basis, we probably have an excess of 5,000 users on this solution.

There are no immediate plans to increase usage, however, there's probably a growth rate of about 5% to 8% per year for the next year or two.

How was the initial setup?

This solution is not significantly hard to setup and deploy.

It's a manual process.

We deployed this solution across a complete government network over a three-year period.

What about the implementation team?

We had a system integrations consultant working cohesively with us on it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We don't like the licensing model and we think that it needs to be improved significantly.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Their support is extremely good. They generally dispatch the hardware in four hours. They give us a dispatch notice just after four hours of lodging a complaint. Their engineer does the on-site visit within 24 hours.

How was the initial setup?

It is not complicated. It is quite user-friendly.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution. They have a good setup and local support in India.

Provides a high level of security and stability for teleconferencing

What is our primary use case?

We have a small, growing company, and they're looking for a wireless capability to do typical office stuff, except that now, we're doing a lot more meetings on Teams and Zoom. We often have a setup where a few people in a conference room connect with remote workers on a Teams meeting. We've had some Teams and Zoom calls interrupted due to problems with the wireless and the wide-area network, as well as some other standard internet issues. Meraki is a decent solution for a small company, and we use it in a pretty typical way. We need Teams and Zoom to work, and we need a high level of security because we want our business to remain confidential.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't interacted with technical support. I hire third-party technical staff, and they deal with all the actual support.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Cisco Meraki Wireless eight out of 10. My suggestion to anyone looking to implement this kind of solution is to use a smart consultant. I use technical consultants to handle things like picking out a solution. So I have one guy who says Ubiquiti would be a great platform, and the other says they think Meraki is the best platform.

Easy to operate and configure with cloud-based management, and it scales on demand

What is our primary use case?

We are a solution provider and Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN is one of the products that we recommend to our customers for building their network and offering wireless internet access.

What is most valuable?

This product offers cloud-based configuration, so you can set it up from anywhere. It is easy to operate and easy to manage.

What needs improvement?

When the license expires, access to the Cisco cloud stops immediately. They should introduce a grace period of 60 days after license expiry because as it is now, it automatically goes down and there is no grace period. There should be better integration with other products.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN for a couple of years.
