Cisco IOS SSL VPN Other Advice

The network is not on our end. We work on existing hotels. The hotels already have networks. We only add a service with a virtual line. We have had other partners like HPE and Huawei. We use the stackable switch.

If we decide to add more ports to scale, we add the switch to the stack. We have a certified engineer to operate the customer network. Our choice of solution depends on our customers’ decisions. Generally, 80% of our networks are Cisco-based. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

For our company's remote workforce connectivity, the tool was very useful during the COVID-19 situation. In general, the VPN functionality offered by the product was very useful during the COVID-19 situation.

In terms of the product's ability to secure third-party access, the tool works very well.

The most valuable feature of the product in terms of network security stems from the fact that the tool provides access to the whole network, and even if users give access to some special applications, it is still really helpful.

The clientless access feature is not available for clients. My company installed the product for its clients. If the product offers a clientless access feature, then it is okay and can be very helpful for our company.

I recommend the product to those who plan to use it. Cisco IOS SSL VPN is a reliable product.

The product is very helpful for a work-from-home setup as the tool can be used to access our company's internal network, which Falls outside the network of our organization.

I rate the tool a seven to eight out of ten.

We have a good experience using the product. It offers an essential combination of efficient financial and technical aspects. I rate it a ten out of ten.

I am using the latest version of Cisco IOS SSL VPN.

A normal person with some networking knowledge can deploy and maintain Cisco IOS SSL VPN because it's not that complicated.

Cisco is one of the best solutions as far as routing and networking are concerned. Cisco still has some configurations to be done using the command line interface (CLI). That is a challenge if you are not familiar with CLI. The GUI interface is quite simple, and it's evolved from what it was earlier. It's good from the security point of view that you need to do those configurations using CLI.

Overall, I rate Cisco IOS SSL VPN an eight out of ten.

The solution is pretty easy to use. My recommendation depends on what purpose someone wants to use the tool for. If someone wants to use it for work purposes, it's quite good. It warns and protects us from viruses or sharing confidential information outside the organization. I use the tool for free as an employee of my organization. I have used other VPNs only on my mobile phone. Those tools were better at connecting to the network. Cisco is the second-best product I have used. Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.

Once you are on a VPN, we can use whatever applications the client gives us access to. There is no limitation regarding whether it is an Oracle database or some UI programs. Whatever is required is given through the VPN.

It doesn't take much time to get into the solution. You have an authenticator on your mobile, and your mobile is linked to the VPN. Your authenticator gives you access to the VPN and allows you to access the environment securely.

Cisco IOS SSL VPN can be deployed on-premises or on the cloud. I would recommend Cisco IOS SSL VPN to users looking for reliability. The encryption provided by the solution is good. The solution’s user experience has been good.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Cisco ASA VPN device with the 8.4(5) image and ASDM 7.11. This device meets the requirements for FIPS 140-2 cryptographic requirements for federal agencies. The purpose of the device is that it ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information between networks. The device is best used between different locations offering secure communications for users, clients (DMZ), and partners (DMZ). Cisco has been in the business for creating borderless networks for some time. Overall performance and features of the device are great. It does take a little time to get used to the commands, as they are a little different from the Cisco IOS router but not as different as another vendor like 3com now, HP. My advice to others would be that, if they are going in the cloud, they can use other products from the cloud too. In the next version, I would like to see central management, because sometimes you have more than two or three devices. If we can have a solution that can manage all these devices, that will be great. For example, if you need to update one device, you can just do it from one place without having to update all of them separately. On a scale from one to ten, I rate this solution a seven.

Nothing is perfect and my advice to others would be to look at their requirements before they choose a solution. Cisco has been tested and used widely so there are virtually no issues in terms of selecting Cisco. But it's up to each client to determine what they need when it comes to things like trafficking.

Additional features that I would like to see included in the next release of Cisco VPN is that it should be compatible with all the devices like mobile devices, laptops, or iPads.

On a scale from one to 10, I will rate this solution an eight.

Cisco SSL VPN is a bag of mixed features. Some of these features will let you set up an easy secured and remote access of individual networks. At the same time, some of these features will cause some trouble with your already configured network. While we know that SSL VPN is an advanced technological step towards achieving a more secured network against ever growing multiple networking threats, Cisco's SSL VPN device is definitely a wise choice to pick.
