The initial setup is straightforward. It's not complicated. I’ve done the deployment when I was in Citrix and the deployment for the current customer and therefore have experience doing this a few times.

How long the deployment takes is up to the customer in terms of what type of storage zone controller you're going to operate. If you're going to operate on-premise, then you need to have the network team and the server, physical server, the load balances, and storage zone controller storage deployed. It shouldn't take, if the infrastructure is ready, more than a week. IN that time, you can set up the entire full-fledged configuration and have enrollment running if you have all the hardware and the communications ready. That's on the on-premise side.

If it's on a specific cloud, even when you purchase the procurement, it won't take even a day. In 24 hours, you will be up and running easily on the ShareFile cloud if you are working with the Citrix cloud. If you're doing a private cloud, then the communication to open the ports between the ShareFile can complain to the private cloud. That might be at least a week, depending on the internal teams. If they work very fast and smoothly, it's a matter of a day.

You only need one person to maintain the solution. It’s pretty low-maintenance.

If you're deploying on cloud, the initial setup is so simple. It's a single click and within two minutes, you can create a user, enable access, and implement whatever methodology you want.

The setup was fairly straightforward, if you are also utilizing NetScalers. I can only speak of setting it up for an on-premises solution. There are certificates that are needed as part of the setup process, so ensure you have checked for those and procured them ahead of time.

Initial setup was very easy as is creating and managing accounts within the system. ShareFile sends out an activation link to all new users and optionally can send a notification to existing users when they are given access to a new project folder. Installing the Outlook client is easy and simply requires logging into ShareFile the first time Outlook is launched with the client installed.

It is not complicated but it takes a day or two to configure everything. The Control Plane is in the Citrix Cloud and they have to attach the storage.

They have various models that can be deployed on-premises or on third-party clouds such as Azure, Amazon, or on the Citrix Cloud. 

There are multiple deployment options. There are no restrictions on any particular cloud.

In terms of the initial setup, you need a very good concept and have to do the conceptual work before you start implementing. Depending on the concept, the setup could be straightforward.

We were looking for a HA solution for Citrix ShareFile but the vendor did not configure it properly. We will be redoing the installation and configuration again in the coming months.
