Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features have been the rate of recognition and the structured documents.""The machine learning capability is pretty good.""Abbyy is really good in terms of reading OCR.""While using ABBYY FlexiCapture we did not use the generic models that they do have for invoice and purchase orders. For one of the use-cases, the document was exactly the purchase order, but we are not using that generic model. We are creating the model from Scratch. However, if I was to compare ABBYY FlexiCapture with other IA tools, the machine learning and how the extraction is done is far better than competitors. This allows a lot less effort for the development.""The solution has its own language that can be configured many ways and with higher accuracy than other products.""The OTR (Optical Text Recognition) is the most valuable feature of this solution.""We are able to extract details from a PDF and put them into a CSV. It is able to extract the details that we are looking for. We have the Machine Learning feature to extract the data with respect to the position of the field.""We have found the solution to be stable so far."

"One of the most valuable features of HyperScience is the user-training module. Whenever the extraction takes place, based on the way we have trained HyperScience, it would give us some success status or a certain confidence level. If the solution has processed something that it determined was not extracted correctly it will queue those items for manual review.""Valuable features include tools like IQ Bot and the ability to extract handwritten documents with 93-95 per cent accuracy.""I like that compared to other tools, HyperScience works best with handwritten documents.""It provides the best accuracy for handwritten forms, which is a struggle in the industry. You can take processes with a lot of manual work and streamline them through this tool.""Has algorithms that can detect a document template even if the image has a lot of distortions.""We have seen pretty good accuracy.""What I liked more about HyperScience was the quality of the OCR it is a lot better compared to Google."

Cons
"Programming interfaces should include intelligence or documentation.""In the future, I would like to see integration with Google Sheets.""It's important to incorporate image detection for signatures or other handwriting elements.""This solution should have better integration with RPA solutions such as Blue Prism.""In IRISXtract, we can have master data, and we can set the master data. There are more options for taking any data and comparing it with master data. For a project, they have a dump from SAP for validation. This feature is there in ABBYY, but it is not extensive like IRISXtract. ABBYY is capturing the data, but there are not a lot of options to validate the captured data. It would be helpful if there are more options for validating the captured data in ABBYY FlexiCapture.""The system does not always train itself to recognize data properly.""Not a ten because sometimes some documents have handwritten data. If this improved, I would rate it a ten out of ten.""The recognition intelligence could improve by having more details in the documents. There are limitations with the forms, templates, and manuscripts."

More ABBYY Vantage Cons →

"No solution is perfect and there are several different scenarios that could be improved in HyperScience. One area is where there are multiple tables in the same form I have seen HyperScience struggle. There is some issue with supporting the extraction from multiple tables involved on the same form. If this could improve, it would be a big benefit.""They could work on the price and make it a bit more reasonable.""The solution lacks support for a greater range of languages.""Extracting tables from certain documents could be improved.""HyperScience has less capability while working on unstructured forms. Unstructured forms are those where there is no standard structure and the information can be anywhere on the form. They need to develop this capability.""HyperScience could improve the unstructured data extraction feature.""The product's usability could be better. The first pain point is that we're getting the output in a different format, and we were expecting a different timetable. The second point is that if you want better results, HyperScience says you have to configure a minimal PDF or a maximum of 400 PDFs. If you want results with 400 PDFs for what's written by these doctors, then you also configure the maximum of 400 templates for that. So, it's essentially a lack of support from HyperScience. In the next release, it would be better if failure scenarios were reduced. It would also help if they offered different formats, inputs or injections, and added different scenarios."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "For us, the price is reasonable."
  • "We did not go with the licensed version of this solution."
  • "The price of this ABBYY FlexiCapture is a bit expensive and the price is based on how many documents have been captured. For example, one or two million captures."
  • "Its price is a little bit high and can be lower. Its licensing is very expensive. I don't remember exactly, but for each page, it is about four or seven cents, which is too expensive."
  • "Most of our customers have purchased an annual license and if you have multiple developers from other companies, you can assign the license on a monthly basis to developers."
  • "It is expensive as compared to UiPath. We pay for the licensing and the page count."
  • "It is more on the reasonable side as compared to the competition that I am aware of. I'm not an expert on pricing schemes for all sorts of things, but when we offer them a solution, we like to say we're agnostic. So, we offer more than one solution when possible. Amongst the ones that we've offered, ABBYY usually is the more reasonable solution on a big scale. On a small scale, they're all pretty similar. As far as I understand, you pay a license for a number of pages, and that's pretty much it. It has just the rate per page, and it decreases as you scale."
  • "Its price should be a little lower. It is a lot higher than the competition, and if they just break the gap a little, then more people might jump onto their product. Their price is definitely a deterrent in the few cases that I remember. They have monthly and yearly options, and if you want, they also have per project and per page options. They do charge extra for different types of installation. They have the standalone, which is pretty straightforward and a lot cheaper than the server installation. Server installation gives you a lot more, and it gives you control over the environment."
  • More ABBYY Vantage Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I think HyperScience is cheaper when compared to other tools. They also have a lifetime licensing option."
  • "I don't have any idea about the licensing costs, but I know that there was a per-page charge. They had different models of pricing. One of them was based on the minimum number of pages, and we had a fixed price. So, the price model depends on the volume that is coming through HyperScience."

    Reviews from Real Users

HyperScience stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its robust user-training module and its accuracy with handwritten documents. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

One PeerSpot reviewer, a Lead Analyst at a financial services firm, writes, “One of the most valuable features of HyperScience is the user-training module. Whenever the extraction takes place, based on the way we have trained HyperScience, it would give us some success status or a certain confidence level. If the solution has processed something that it determined was not extracted correctly it will queue those items for manual review.”

Yogesh S., OCR Developer at a tech vendor, notes of the solution, “I like that compared to other tools, HyperScience works best with handwritten documents.” He adds, “We're automating invoices and some handwritten filled-out documents. We can automate with accuracy, and even though we used HyperScience initially for selling purposes and as a comparison tool, we're now getting these results with HyperScience.”
