Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It actually does its job very well and has interesting capabilities, but it has the most awful interface.""One of the most valuable features of Acronis is its AnyData Engine which allows any device to connect to any other device for the purpose of data restoration.""Acronis Backup is valuable if your data is affected by ransomware, you are able to get it back.""The most valuable features of Acronis Backup are instant restore, antivirus, and ransomware protection. Additionally, the documentation is good.""I've reimaged servers and been back up and running in exactly no time with the completely new hardware.""Stability is always good. I have used Acronis for 10 years now, if not more. I have never had a problem with availability, etc.""The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly.""It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately."

"The setup is pretty straightforward.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""It's on the cheaper side and not too expensive for users.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""We have never had any issues with scalability."

Cons
"On the cloud side, security could always be better.""The new version has anti-malware and software management features, but these features should be enhanced. It is working as an exclusive solution along with the backup and recovery.""It could back up more things. I don't think it can back up Box and some of the other third-party ones. Not that we use them that much, but the more they can do, the better it would be. There could also be better integrations with RMM tools.""I would like to have more hardware space. It would make it better. I would like to have two more terabytes.""Acronis Backup can improve the latency when the file size is larger, we have had issues. Additionally, they could allow more flexibility when searching for information and I cannot download the CBIS backup copy information which could be made easier.""I would change the GUI a little to make it a bit more interactive. It should have a slightly more updated look, not something which looks like it was designed five years ago despite the fact it is easy to follow and very appealing.""If there was a wizard that would lead you down a road, when creating a backup, that would probably be better than having to go online or call somebody to actually do a backup. It's not intuitive...""A little bit more integration would be good. It should support broader platforms."

More Acronis Cyber Protect Cons →

"I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
  • "Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
  • "I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
  • "It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
  • "When it comes to elements like cost, I think it is the only backup solution which has perpetual licenses, whereby you buy the license once and for all."
  • "I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. "
  • "Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
  • "The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."
  • More Acronis Cyber Protect Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We were happy with the pricing that they gave us."
  • "They license us on a per machine basis. We have a set number of machines, which we have licensed."
  • "I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."
  • "The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair."
  • "Where the price adds up, there are CloudEndure licenses, then there is the AWS environment, and finally, there is the AWS storage, so cumulatively, it adds up."
  • "It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
  • "CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate the price of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery a six out of ten."

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.
