Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of Acronis Backup are cloning and many other capabilities. For example, you are able to clone the whole operating system and drive. Additionally, the solution is a complete package.""Since the last version, everything has been improved.""Acronis has a very rich functionality.""The best thing about it is that we can back up pretty much everything we want to. We don't have to have multiple solutions. It can back up any physical or virtual server, including servers in Azure. It can back up SharePoint, OneDrive, and G Suite. Everything we need to back up can be backed up, and that's why we like it.""The image backup and image restore features have been very beneficial to us.""Consistency and reliability. The interface is easy to understand and consistent across applications. While not 100%, it is a very reliable backup solution.""The user interface (UI) is easy to use.""All the necessary features required to set up a proper backup are already present in Acronis Backup."

"Cohesity DataProtect is a reliable solution for performing backups within a suitable timeframe, and its forever incremental model is particularly effective for the customer's needs. Additionally, the solution handles instant recovery and file-level recovery from a VMware image backup seamlessly.""The product is easy to put in place. All backups are done very quickly. It's easy to perform restores. What I prefer in the product is its simplicity. There are no useless settings to define, and everything is ready after the initial setup.""We like that we can use production data to run intensive reports that would otherwise bog down the production server.""The spin-up of a VM within a test environment for backup testing along with quick restores.""Instead of four different solutions for protecting VMs, physical servers, SQL, and NAS, we now have one solution with Cohesity that is lightning fast and has amazing features.""By using their Helios Cloud service, you have all your clusters, no matter where they are located, in one web portal.""Cohesity DataProtect is more of a unified solution, which is also trying to expand for ransomware protection.""Instant volume mount and the SpanFS filesystem itself, which has great dedupe and compression across all of our backups."

Cons
"It does not delete locked files.""The technical support of Acronis Backup could improve. They have the depth of knowledge but the speed of the response could be quicker.""I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks.""The dashboards for digital operations can be improved.""We would always support better pricing.""For smaller companies it's a little more challenging to maintain.""Because Acronis Backup is an on-premises solution, there is extra overhead. It's harder to manage, and there's no real remote access. You have to physically log in to the machine to manage it. The reporting feature works fine, and you will be able to send out reports. However, that is where it stops. The deployment could be improved and could be through a network chain. If we need to deploy two machines that are not connected to the internet but connected to two different networks, it would be great to have a machine with dual mix that has access to the backup server and to those machines. It would be like a relay that you can install on the machine with a two-mix, and that machine can then connect to your backup server and to the other machines. You should be able to see the other machines on that network and be able to deploy to it and push jobs to it.""The biggest problem that we have is when the antivirus is installed, the whole machine runs very slowly and some of the machines hang."

More Acronis Cyber Protect Cons →

"The support team sometimes takes a long time to resolve issues, although, in our experience, these have been specific things like SQL blobs.""Reporting is quite limited and not customizable.""Initial setup can be complex if you need to change IP addresses. Hopefully, they improve that in a future release.""Better support for legacy platforms would be nice, but we should be moving off those anyway.""In terms of the product itself, there have been a handful of patches that have had to be applied outside of the GUI via the command line. It's very straightforward and easy and in the same redundant fashion, but not quite as simple as one or two clicks. I'm hoping that will decrease going forward.""Quality testing of upgrades should be somewhat improved.""Microsoft Exchange online mailbox backups would be fantastic.""Many of the reports are basic, at most, and at times we had to open a support ticket to help find or develop a report for our needs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."

  • "Licensing is per node and per protected terabyte. You will also pay 10-15% annually for support."

  • "Cohesity came in at the best price."
