"Its Critical Server Insurance feature for protecting physical and virtual servers, including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V is mandatory for me and it makes me happy. If I had a backup solution that didn't do that, it would not be a backup solution and would not be any good.""The feature I find most valuable is the backup configuration, particularly in Google Workspace. It's pretty much the same as for Office 365, but it shows you a list of the mailbox or account holders in an organization. If you want to back somebody up, it's literally just a checkbox to choose that individual. It's super simple to say, "I want to back up these mailboxes, but I will leave these other people, who are temporary, unchecked." I can't make a mistake.""The most valuable feature is disaster recovery, where we have the ability to boot up VMs quickly in a disaster.""The most valuable feature is the ability to boot locally, as well as in Infrascale's cloud. This means that we can either do on-site failover or failover to their cloud.""The recovery of data is the most valuable feature. The software backup, which is just a program that gets installed on a server, can back up to the cloud. "The back of virtual machines needs improvement. I know they're working on it. They're always doing new things but I think they still have a little bit more to do.""I think the one thing that could be improved is the customer experience. The interface should be more user friendly.""This solution can be complex and difficult to administer because it supports all of the many platforms, so it would help if they could simplify it.""Just to keep it running is time-consuming. There are five people on my team. Commvault was supposed to be one of the less time-consuming solutions, but in reality it takes 60 percent of our time just to keep it running, and that's not even fine-tuning it; that's just to keep it running.""There is room for improvement in its user interface and web console, called Command Center. They are improving it every year so if they continue in that direction, I think it will be a very reliable console.""They can always improve the interface design to make it easier. Sometimes, you need to click two or three times to do something. They should look at what tabs are used most and make them more accessible, to cut the time it takes to get to that information.""Command Center definitely gives us a complete view of our data. But finding some of the granular, very small items that we sometimes have to find, such as auxiliary copies for tapes, I still find that it's easier to navigate and, sometimes, only possible to find them using the CommCell tool.""The solution's breadth and depth of cloud support are good, but could be better. Some cloud features that are common-sense, especially on AWS, are not completely integrated yet in the product. They are a work-in-progress."

"The whole product structure is confusing. You can actually get to do what you want to do. But Acronis seems to have a singular ability to make things difficult.""No technical support and minimal documentation.""When an error occurs, the information is not always easy to understand and these messages should be made more clear.""For smaller companies it's a little more challenging to maintain.""In the span of six months, maintenance is done at least twice and you are told that it is coming up, with apologies for the inconvenience. "They set me up as a vendor, not as a client. So sometimes I end up in the wrong portal and I'm doing vendor things instead of client things, and I didn't realize that right away. Once I figured it out I just changed my favorites on my desktop to go to the client-side.""The barrier to entry should be smaller. Their ICB (Infrascale Cloud Backup) requires a minimum of one terabyte and the IBDR (Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery) requires one terabyte. It would be better if they could do 500 gigabytes. I don't always want to purchase terabytes at a time, although those are different products than what we've been talking about.""The pricing model that they recently changed to is a little bit complicated, and the biggest area for improvement is a better way of figuring out how to price it.""Having options to replicate between their data centers, once the data is offsite, would be an improvement that they could make.""When you are ordering hardware appliances, they have to be delivered from America. In the past, hard drives on the appliance have been simple SSD drives that are installed. However, they don't have a local supply for the SSD drives in the UK. They have to be exported from the US, arrive, and then I have to go and install them. Then, they will rebuild it from their side of things. However, I could order that same SSD drive online and get it the next day. So, I have to wait days for things to come when I could get the exact same drive the next day in the UK, if I wanted to. That causes a bit of a problem. I don't know how many businesses they have in the UK, but I do think that having to import stuff from the US is a time-consuming problem. If there was a holding in the UK, then we wouldn't have that delay in time."

"The price could perhaps be lower as well.""Our cost is around $20,000 per month. The previous year, it was around $30,000 per month. It now costs less because Commvault changed the licensing type for providers.""Our yearly cost is around €20,000... The cost is based on the number of users and the amount of data. They sell it per terabyte.""There is a bit of cost involved with signing up the entire solution. It's not a cheap solution.""Commvault licensing is a perpetual license so only the support is being renewed yearly.""The complete license gives us options for all the features. Commvault does not license based on storage or the management components. It can integrate with any storage vendor. That means that when we are out of storage and need more, we can integrate without additional licensing. In my opinion, Commvault needs to reduce the licensing cost by 20 to 40 percent to make it cost-efficient.""We went from Veritas NetBackup to Commvault.
