We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros | |
The most valuable feature is its consistency. The ability to clone backups. I have everything I need in the backup or in the partition. It works with different types of partitions or different OSs. Stability is always good. I have used Acronis for 10 years now, if not more. I have never had a problem with availability, etc. It is a very fast and reliable backup, which requires less management and restores quickly. The user interface (UI) is easy to use. It is fast and easy for an image-based backup across all platforms. | The most valuable feature of this solution is the replication functionality. The setup is very simple. It takes 15 minutes. Backup and replication are the most valuable features. It is easy to use and easy to recover files. Veeam makes modular solutions, so you can install Veeam Backup for Office 365 and Veeam Backup and Replication in one single server. You can do an all in one installation, and roll it out. I have used the technical support a few times and they've been reasonably helpful. This is an easy-to-install easy-to-use solution for backing up Office 365 email. The solution is easy to use. It's very simple and clients find it very easy to find all objects and things they need with the Veeam Explorer. |
Cons | |
This is not a feature-rich solution. I would like to see better centralized management, because I use it across multiple clients. To have a console that centrally manages them would be nice. I would change the GUI a little to make it a bit more interactive. It should have a slightly more updated look, not something which looks like it was designed five years ago despite the fact it is easy to follow and very appealing. It would be nice if it could support more types of storage: EMC, HPE, Veeam, etc. If there was a wizard that would lead you down a road, when creating a backup, that would probably be better than having to go online or call somebody to actually do a backup. It's not intuitive... I can't select a network location. I have to map a drive on the server, and then I have to select the mapped drive in order for it to put the backup out there. | They need more documentation, awareness, and assistance. It needs to be able to integrate with other emailing systems, like Linux. In the next release, it should have direct export to tape drive abilities and NDMP support. Technical support could be improved. The capacity storage is a challenge everywhere in the backup industry. The general feedback people are coming back to about this is that there is no deduplication based on it. It would be a great improvement to be able to recover cover a VM straight to on-prem. While there really is nothing wrong with the product some small improvements in the interface could make it even easier to use. The solution announced many features two years ago, and they still have not happened, so I would hope that the next release has these ready to go. |
Pricing and Cost Advice | |
Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis. I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. | The cost is a bit on the high side. I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower. The pricing is middle-of-the-road compared with competing products. I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers. |
