Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The tool's most valuable feature is performance.""It comes equipped with an internal applicator, which automatically identifies and addresses vulnerabilities within the program.""The usability and overall scan results are good.""The automated approach to these repetitive discovery attempts would take days to do manually and therefore it helps reduce the time needed to do an assessment.""The solution is highly stable.""Acunetix has an awesome crawler. It gives a referral site map of near targets and also goes really deep to find all the inputs without issues. This was valuable because it helped me find some files or directories, like web admin panels without authentication, which were hidden.""We are able to create a report which shows the PCI DSS scoring and share it with the application teams. Then, they can correlate and see exactly what they need to fix, and why.""It can operate both as a standalone and it can be integrated with other applications, which makes it a very versatile solution to have."

"I like that it provides a detailed report that lets you know the risk index and the vulnerability.""The solution has a continuous integration process.""The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is quick when processing and giving an output or generating a report.""I find it immensely helpful because it's not just about generating code; it's about ensuring efficiency in the execution.""I've tried many open source applications and the remediation or correction actions that were provided by Kiuwan were very good in comparison.""I have found the security and QA in the source code to be most valuable.""It provides value by offering options to enhance both code quality and the security of the company.""The solution offers very good technical support."

Cons
"Currently only supports web scanning.""You can't actually change your password after you've set it unless you go back into the administration account and you change it there. Thus, if you're locked out and don't remember your password, that's a thing.""We have had issues during upgrades where their scans worked on some apps better with previous versions. Then, we had to work with their tech support, who were great, to get it fixed for the next version.""In terms of what needs improvement, the way the licensing model is currently is not very convenient for us because initially, when we bought it, the licensing model was very flexible, but now it restricts us.""While we do have it integrated with other solutions, it could still offer more integrations.""Acunetix needs to improve its cost.""The vulnerability identification speed should be improved.""Integration into other tools is very limited for Acunetix. While we're trying to incorporate a CI/CD process where we're integrating with JIRA and we're integrating with Jenkins and Chef, it becomes problematic. Other tools give you a high integration capability to connect into different solutions that you may already have, like JIRA."

"The configuration hasn't been that good.""Integration of the programming tools could be improved.""In Kiuwan there are sometimes duplicates found in the dependency scan under the "insights" tab. It's unclear to me why these duplicates are appearing, and it would be helpful if the application teams could investigate further.""DIfferent languages, such Spanish, Portuguese, and so on.""Kiuwan's support has room for improvement. You can only open a ticket is through email, and the support team is outside of our country. They should have a support number or chat.""The QA developer and security could be improved.""I would like to see better integration with the Visual Studio and Eclipse IDEs.""The development-to-delivery phase."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "When we looked at all other vendors and what they were asking for, to provide a third of what Acunetix was capable of doing, it was an easy decision... But now that it's coming to a cost where it's line with market value, it becomes more of a competition... Acunetix is raising the cost of licensing. It's 3.5 times what we were initially quoted."
  • "Acunetix was around the same price as all the other vendors we looked at, nothing special."
  • "The pricing and licensing are reasonable to a point. In order to run multiple scans at a time, we are going to have to purchase a 100 count license, which is an overkill. Though, compared to what we were paying for, the cost seems reasonable."
  • "All things considered, I think it has a good price/value ratio."
  • "The costs aren't very expensive. It costs around $3000 or $4000."
  • "I would say that Acunetix is expensive because there are products on the market with similar features that are equally or better-priced."
  • "The pricing is a little high, and moreover, it's kind of domain-based."
  • "When compared with other products, the pricing is a little bit high. But it gives value for the price. It serves the purpose and is worthwhile for the price we pay."

  • "Check with your account manager."
  • "Nothing special. It's a very fair model."
  • "I recommend contacting a sales person who will create the best plan payment plan for you, as we did."
  • "This solution is cheaper than other tools."
  • "It follows a subscription model. I think the price is somewhere in the middle."
  • "Kiuwan is an open-source solution and free to use."
  • "The price of Kiuwan is lower than that of other tools on the market."
