Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) is the ability to troubleshoot ports on the network. Additionally, when there is an update on the APs they are able to reboot quickly reducing downtime. Other solutions have a longer downtime when updates are done.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Mist is the Virtual Network Assistant, powered by artificial intelligence.""The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system.""You can easily monitor, manage, and cover all your IT equipment.""The AI capabilities of Mist Wireless are superior to other OEMs.""The solution is pretty generic and easy to use.""The artificial intelligence feature is very good."

"It is easy to use, manage, and implement.""It's a good solution for small businesses because it's easy to figure out. It's simple to set Aruba up in any configuration, like link aggregation or static loads. It's suitable for less complicated configurations, whereas Cisco devices are bigger and more difficult to implement.""The coverage of the solution is great.""The solution provides a very good end-user experience.""In terms of stability, Aruba Instant is the best on the market.""Works automatically in terms of setup with the product finding its master wifi access point.""The product is easy to configure.""The most valuable feature of Aruba Instant is its cloud capability, which allows us to manage it through the cloud."

"The few times we have needed help, Aerohive has been there for us and I am confident that If I need them they will be there again.""It excels in Wi-Fi and switch management, as well as other internal management aspects, offering speed and efficiency that surpass what other competitors provide.""Its configuration and deployment are the most valuable.""The cloud-based management interface allows us to fully manage all our wireless radios, ensuring consistency and ease of access.""What our customers like the most is that this device is so rugged. It has very good performance and throughput. Its console is very easy to use and has many features, which makes it different from its competitors. Cloud IQ has all the features built into the console, whereas other solutions require you to integrate multiple solutions with their consoles. You don't need to add anything extra with Cloud IQ. With this single solution, you can do almost everything.""It is more cost effective and gives more flexibility.""What I like best about ExtremeCloud IQ is its ease of use. Flexibility is another pro of ExtremeCloud IQ. I also find ExtremeCloud IQ feature-rich.""HiveManager is incredibly useful for managing APs and switches from one cloud interface."

Cons
"There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""Juniper Wireless AP can improve by continually improving its reporting and integration with other systems.""The pricing should be made cheaper.""The product should include adaptive Wi-Fi to show a more accurate location.""Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) could improve if the MIST platform had a built-in master key. This would be an advantage.""The price could be better.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points’ support services need improvement."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"Aruba Instant's visibility, firewalling, L3 functionality, and DHCP services could all be improved.""It is good as it is. If anything, its reporting could be improved.""My biggest problem with Aruba Instant was the DHCP implementation. The DHCP server needs to ping an IP address to connect to the internet. In some cases, we don't have a DHCP server in the network, and it was really a problem.""They could offer a new model for access points that are outdoors.""There was only ever one case in which an access point failed, but it was reintegrated. The issue was more of a matter of oversight. One part of the network had covered ten access points.""It would be better if Aruba Instant could provide more security for customers.""The product's high cost is an area where improvements are required.""They could provide a centralized system to manage switches incorporated into multiple branches."

More Aruba Instant Cons →

"A room for improvement in ExtremeCloud IQ is roaming. My team is facing roaming issues with the solution, particularly when using VoIP over WiFi. For example, VoIP sometimes breaks when you walk around the customer site. In terms of what I'd like to see in the next release of the solution, right now, the inventory for ExtremeCloud IQ is awful. There's no stock, and you must wait a year and a half for new stocks. It's awful.""An area for improvement in ExtremeCloud IQ is its technical support. Support could be better, especially when you need help concerning ExtremeCloud IQ and WinG.""Browser load time for the cloud is long and needs improvement.""Certain features only exist or work in certain versions.""ExtremeCloud IQ’s user interface needs to be improved, and its current bugs need to be fixed.""The dashboard and stability need to be improved.""Having a wizard for customers who are just starting might be helpful.""From our perspective, we would love to see Aerohive provide faster feature enhancement in their Virtual Appliance to match the features with the cloud solution more quickly."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We pay maybe 1000 SEK per year, per access point."
  • "Juniper Wireless AP's price is a little more expensive than other solutions, but you get what you pay for."
  • "The pricing is something Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) can work on. The pricing is very high compared to the competition."
  • "The pricing is too high."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "I rate Juniper Mist's pricing a ten out of ten since it is expensive."
  • "I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."

  • "Avoid the Central cloud license if you can."
  • "I purchased the hardware and there are no monthly or yearly licenses to buy."
  • "We only pay for the support and the contract licenses from Aruba Instant."
  • "The licensing cost is somewhere around $20,000."
  • "It is not expensive. Its price is fair. You get many features with the normal licensing. If I look at Cisco, it is very expensive if I need similar things."
  • "The cost was affordable."
  • "Some aspect of the price of Aruba Instant is very economical because if the customer is requiring more features the customer needs to pay a higher amount."
  • "It's a one time cost, including the upgrades, but you have to pay on a yearly basis if you want support. The price is in the middle in comparison to that of competitors' products."

  • "Although the pricing is a bit high, I consider Aerohive to be well worth the money."
  • "Buy near the end of Q4 in order to get a deal."
  • "Bring the cost down."
  • "I would advise that you be sure to compare apples with apples. Many customers just look at the price per AP and licences, and compare that against other solutions. But, they do not look at the complete picture such as: TCO - how much the equipment will cost you over, say, seven years? Will the customer need to change complete infrastructure when they want to buy the newest hardware? Does support include a lifetime warranty and RMA?"
  • "For example, if you compare Aruba vs Aerohive, you need to check which licences from Aruba you need to match the functionality of Aerohive (usually you need at least three types of licences and a controller with redundancy). The same goes with Cisco, where you need buy additional licences for central management, firewall, spectral analysis, WIPS, PPSK, etc. Aerohive has a very simple model - one licence for all the functionalities - and you can believe that there are many. One licence makes it easy to maintain, scale, renew and you can plan your costs 10 years in advance."
  • "Start small and grow big. You can choose the basic Aerohive Connect free subscription solution and, later, if needed (in terms of functionality) you can upgrade to Aerohive Select."
  • "There are probably cheaper solutions but we invest for stability and performance for the longer haul."
  • "I did a multi-year license. It was a three-year license. It compares well with others in terms of the price. It is about a hundred dollars per year on a three-year scale."
