Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We receive infrastructure security warnings from it. So, we know what is going on and what needs to be addressed.""It has the ability to install agents. It is pretty straightforward. You can automate the process pretty easily.""Everything is in one dashboard; I'm notified when there's an incident and advised on what steps to take.""The solution was consistently available, and I cannot recall any instances where it was down.""The most valuable aspect of Alert Logic is its technology platform. They have SOCs in the US and Europe, giving them global visibility of the threat landscape. They detect and respond to threats in minutes. Their biggest value is human expertise. You're being attacked by a human, and you cannot respond to it unless you have a human on the other side. They have the human and technological resources to respond.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward.""Notifications and the detail of notifications are most valuable. It is a user-friendly solution.""It improves our security. Before, we didn't have anything scanning our containers. We had software scanning all the physical servers, but we had nothing to scan our containers. With Alert Logic, we can do that."

"The firewall and intrusion detection features are very useful these days because hackers have a lot of tricks that they use to get into a system. With Kerio Control you can see something that's happening. Otherwise, you have to use other tools to see what's happening on the firewalls. Having IPS in it is quite useful for us.""The most valuable features of KerioControl are ease of configuration, user-friendliness, and comfortable to use. It is an all-in-one solution, it comes with many features, such as a firewall, antivirus software, and network protection.""What I like the most about Kerio is that I can use the software appliance as a solution, so if the hardware fails for any reason then I can quickly replace it with hardware that I have in stock.""The solution provides feasibility regarding cyber privacy.""Kerio has improved my organization's security.""I have found the most valuable features of Kerio Control to be the IPS and firewall.""I like intrusion detection and prevention and bandwidth management. The routing part is also awesome. It is a good firewall. We never had a major breach from outside. We've never been impacted by ransomware, and our systems have never been infiltrated.""The reporting needs to be improved. It is hard to get a domain."

Cons
"The setup process was complex.""The product needs to mature. We don't want to be bombarded with unnecessary issues and have the real ones slip through.""Could be more of an endpoint protector.""I would like more data on the alert payload. It would be good to have the ability to customize the alert payload to add whatever data that we want on there. Right now, it is a bit limited.""Its menu is not very intuitive. I would like to see the user menu expanded a bit. The user menu is very layered, and because of the layers, you have to go down a path that is not very intuitive.""They have ideas and email you whatever they find, but they don't have a dedicated security team who will work on an attack or a specific security instance.""We'd like to have triggered alerts sent to us so we see errors quicker.""This product needs to mature more. While it is a good product, there are some areas where it needs work."

More Alert Logic Cons →

"They should add wireless features.""The filtering on the unlicensed version of Kerio Control is inefficient - you have to add each website manually, which isn't feasible.""It has a VPN back to our data center but I don't think it has increased the number of VPN clients extended to those outside our environment""There's also room for improvement in the Traffic Rules. We define networks to use a specific outgoing interface, say VSAT, shore, or marine WiFi, which is okay. But then all we have is a checkbox that says "Use other internet interfaces if this one is unavailable." What we would prefer would be to have a priority list. So if VSAT is unavailable, try to use 4G, etc. We haven't really found a reliable way of doing that in the current release.""The product's technical support is not good as it used to be.""My experience with the solutions technical support is fine but they could be faster in responding.""I have had a few issues with HTTPS decryption. The solution also does not show the actual user's Internet usage.""The antivirus seemed to be a bit laggy on the connection so I disconnected that. It's definitely good. The only issue we've had with any sort of cyber attack seemed to be coming from a couple of distinct locations, people trying to get into known ports on remote desktops and stuff like that. The fact that we can block all that traffic is just great. It simplifies it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Our ROI would probably be zero. We don't even use it. It sits in there. We get emails and just delete them. Around the world, we don't even use it."
  • "Alert Logic has better competitive pricing than some of its competitors."
  • "Almost any product that is on the AWS Marketplace is super easy to subscribe to."
  • "Its pricing is very reasonable considering what you get for what you pay. There is quite a good value there. Its licensing is also very logical. They've got the licensing price points at a reasonable level. It is on a monthly license but a yearly contract. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
  • "Price of the solution was very reasonable considering the size of our organization at the time, and so it worked out perfectly."

  • "There is a yearly upkeep fee."

    Overview

Alert Logic is a cloud-based security and compliance solution that provides threat detection and response, log management, and compliance automation. Its primary use case is to manage lag and protect the network, identify configuration issues related to security and cloud infrastructure, and serve as the primary SIEM tool before escalating tickets.

The most valuable feature is that it has everything in one dashboard, including being notified of incidents and receiving advice on what steps to take. Alert Logic has helped organizations process large amounts of data, remotely monitor everything from the cloud, and streamline workflow while reducing implementation time.

    Reviews from Real Users

Here is some feedback from some of our users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Brian C., Senior Technology Specialist, VP at Unified Technology Solutions, writes "It is very comprehensive and simple. It has all the active protections. It's updated. We love that you can set how often it is updated so you can work on what is right for you. A large company with a lot of bandwidth can update the virus definitions and security definitions hourly, if they want. A smaller site that's remote, where maybe updating the definitions will eat into the bandwidth, we can schedule those more to go later at night. It's very flexible and works for us in all types of situations. This is great because then we don't have to learn seven different products to be able to work with seven different scenarios."

Andy D., IT Manager at Flare Technologies, praises how easy it is to use and says, "One thing we use quite a lot, as well, is the DHCP Server, because we do a lot of work where all our devices need to have static IP addresses. Rather than going around and configuring every box, we do it all through DHCP reservations. It's easier. We've got a record of it. We can manipulate it if we need to change something or change some hardware. It's all easy. Even guys who are not used to using it can pick it up quite quickly."
