We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Amazon QuickSight can provide insights from the available data. It supports various rule types. We get the options of machine learning and insights, which are not available in other intelligence tools. It is easier to use, more stable, and cheaper than other solutions.""From an analytics perspective, it's really good for self-service analytics.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the user interface."

"It's easy to increase performance as required.""One of the features provides nice interactive clusters, or compute instances that you don't really need to manage often.""The time travel feature is the solution's most valuable aspect.""Can cut across the entire ecosystem of open source technology to give an extra level of getting the transformatory process of the data.""The most valuable aspect of the solution is its notebook. It's quite convenient to use, both terms of the research and the development and also the final deployment, I can just declare the spark jobs by the load tables. It's quite convenient.""It's great technology.""The main features of the solution are efficiency.""Databricks gives you the flexibility of using several programming languages independently or in combination to build models."

Cons
"It is a simple tool with limited features. Its visualization set is very limited, and it also has limited functionality. An intelligence tool should not be only for creating reports. Currently, we have to do all computational and mathematical operations outside. We should be able to do such operations in an intelligence tool like this. As an intelligence tool, it should support dynamic refresh. QuickSight currently supports the refresh at a minimum of one hour, and it is not suitable for dynamic dashboards that require frequent refreshes.""You can't tell a data story as well in QuickSight as you can on others, especially in TIBCO Spotfire.""There could be an end-to-end pipeline for data cleaning as well as presenting it using different visualizations."

More Amazon QuickSight Cons »

"The product could be improved by offering an expansion of their visualization capabilities, which currently assists in development in their notebook environment.""I would like to see more documentation in terms of how an end-user could use it, and users like me can easily try it and implement use cases.""Some of the error messages that we receive are too vague, saying things like "unknown exception", and these should be improved to make it easier for developers to debug problems.""Implementation of Databricks is still very code heavy.""The product needs samples and templates to help invite users to see results and understand what the product can do.""It would be very helpful if Databricks could integrate with platforms in addition to Azure.""Pricing is one of the things that could be improved.""A lot of people are required to manage this solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"It is simpler and cheaper than other solutions.""I wouldn't say that it is an expensive product, but to stay competitive they would need to bring down the prices."

More Amazon QuickSight Pricing and Cost Advice »

"The price is okay. It's competitive.""We find Databricks to be very expensive, although this improved when we found out how to shut it down at night.""The solution requires a subscription.""I am based in South Africa, where it is expensive adapting to the cloud, and then there is the price for the tool itself.""I do not exactly know the costs, but one of our clients pays between $100 USD and $200 USD monthly.""The solution uses a pay-per-use model with an annual subscription fee or package. Typically this solution is used on a cloud platform, such as Azure or AWS, but more people are choosing Azure because the price is more reasonable.""There are different versions.""Licensing on site I would counsel against, as on-site hardware issues tend to really delay and slow down delivery."
