Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We are satisfied with Arcserve UDP. The most important feature that we use and why we choose this product is the RHA feature.""The most valuable feature of StorageCraft ShadowProtect is the speed and the compression of the backups. The compressed backed-up files do not take up as much storage. Additionally, the incremental backups can be done in one minute and be backed up on a disc very fast.""I would recommend it if there is a general case.""The product's deployment process was straightforward.""One of the things that I do like about it is that it has a very good deduplication feature.""It's simple to set up.""The most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP is the initiative UI and the logs are clear and detailed that are generated when there has been an issue or failure on the user's system. We only have to log onto the client's system to retrieve the information. It is possible to precisely identify the problem's location. The system categorizes and logs every step in a structured manner, selectively displaying only the essential logs. However, to view a comprehensive log, one must access the line machine log and examine the actual client for detailed logging.""Arcserve UDP has a good configuration and user interface. It makes the job of an administrator easy."

"The recovery aspect of the solution is its most valuable feature.""If you are looking for a backup solution, go with Druva because it's quite simple.""The main benefit of this solution is that it automatically scans the files for ransomware after the backup is complete.""It has a straightforward installation.""The tool has good features. The backup is also accurate.""It's incredibly fast.""We get control over authentication policies and create an agentless backup by generating a token for that.""One of the most valuable features is it is available on the cloud, so I do not need to make a firewall. Second, the backup speed is outstanding. The third thing is that the section policy is very good and gives you a lot of flexibility and granularity regarding what you need to back up."

Cons
"The solution could improve by being more user-friendly. It can be difficult to assign destinations and choose which files and folders we need to back up. There are some aspects that are unclear.""The problem is just reliability. If the promises in the marketing material were realized in real life, it would be the perfect solution, but it's just the reliability issues.""I think that the price could still be a bit cheaper and I do not like that they have been purchased by Arcserve.""The solution can improve by allowing older versions to support the latest version of the OS.""The speed of restores should be improved. We have found the speed of large restores rather slow.""Arcserve UDP is in the middle range of complexity. The interface can be developed a little bit more to be user-friendly.""In the most recent version of premium plus the replication has been removed, and it should re-added to the solution.""We could not go into granular details of retrieving backup information."

More Arcserve UDP Cons →

"It would be good if bare metal backups were possible.""The user quota is an area that needs to be improved.""The support of other cloud services needs to be improved. It has very good cloud support for AWS but not with others.""If I could have an accelerator or something to back up the solution on the cloud, that would be helpful. Also, it would be helpful if the accelerator could give me a buffer of a couple of days for any kind of immediate recovery on an offsite.""The speed could be better.""The product needs to improve its support.""The one area that needs to improve is the pricing.""The user quota is an area that needs to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I do not work with the pricing or licensing issues of the solution for our organization."
  • "We only have the maintenance of three standard UDP licenses. Each license is 50 Euro. There are some additional costs for the storage and software but it has nothing to do with the UDP."
  • "Normally our customers purchase the premium plus license, rather than the standard one, which provides more options."
  • "The price of this product is high and it should be lower."
  • "It is approximately $400 to purchase a virtual service outright."
  • "There is an annual license required for this solution and it is priced well."
  • "Pricing is most likely comparable."
  • "The retail fee is $1300 for a year for one server. Other than that, there is just the cost of your hardware."

  • "Once you decide to go with this product the cost can be worked out with the vendor."
  • "The price is quite good, It's approximately $4000.00 per user for one year."
  • "It's approximately $4000.00 per user for one year."
  • "It is an expensive product for the middle class or SMB customers in India. A lot of top-level big companies also cannot afford this solution. During the license period, one can download the entire data from the cloud without paying any additional cost. This way the data can be easily recreated from the stored data when a machine is lost or the data is compromised."
  • "Out of all the solutions we evaluated, Druva inSync was the most affordable."
  • "The pricing of Druva inSync is very high as compared to other cloud backup solutions."
  • "The pricing is thirty-five dollars per year or three dollars per month per user."
  • "The product is fairly priced, I would rate its pricing five out of ten."
