We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP is the initiative UI and the logs are clear and detailed that are generated when there has been an issue or failure on the user's system. We only have to log onto the client's system to retrieve the information. It is possible to precisely identify the problem's location. The system categorizes and logs every step in a structured manner, selectively displaying only the essential logs. However, to view a comprehensive log, one must access the line machine log and examine the actual client for detailed logging.""Global deduplication is the best feature of this solution.""Arcserve has a feature called virtual standby (VSB), which has been very helpful because I already have a hot standby copy of my critical infrastructure. If something breaks, I can spin up that virtual standby copy in less than five minutes and ensure that my data is available to everyone and that business continuity is maintained.""The most valuable feature of StorageCraft ShadowProtect is the speed and the compression of the backups. The compressed backed-up files do not take up as much storage. Additionally, the incremental backups can be done in one minute and be backed up on a disc very fast.""The standard backup and restore feature is most used.""It's simple to set up.""The backup is the most valuable feature. It also makes storage very easy.""It is a very stable solution...It is a scalable solution."

"The unit has been running at 100% without an issue.""Most storage arrays when you buy them, they call it a "forklift upgrade," where a forklift comes in there and pulls out the old storage, and brings in a new storage. But with Reduxio, it can use all your old storage arrays, whether they're NetApp, or IBM, or EMC, or HPE, as targets for doing backups.""The down-to-the-second restore capability, native to the device is a valuable feature.""Write latency is averaging way under a millisecond.""Efficiency of data management (Tier-X tiering, and NoDup inline dedupliclation and compression) provide for quick response time (+150k IOPS) during regular usage.""Ease of user interface: prevents distractions and confusion when dealing with real-time catastrophes and high-pressure situations. Overall, it extremely easy to use. My team was trained within less than two hours.""With only a few clicks, I can provision or modify storage.""It has improved our backup and recovery window, because you can have two Reduxio machines linked up, so every block that changes on the primary storage array gets replicated to the secondary storage array. If one side or the other goes bad, you just recover from the other side."

Cons
"The solution can improve by allowing older versions to support the latest version of the OS.""One of the biggest drawbacks of Arcserve UDP is that it does not have a single console, making it an area that needs to be considered for improvement.""In the most recent version of premium plus the replication has been removed, and it should re-added to the solution.""The solution can use a lot of bandwidth when the scheduling is not done, it should auto-schedule itself. For example, if there are 50 users connected in the network at 12 o'clock and the backup is not scheduled. At this time the network offices are going to have performance issues when it is doing a backup. Having a feature to auto-schedule a time when the network is not being used often would be beneficial.""We have to use a Microsoft hypervisor for installation which is expensive.""The technical support of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.""A lot of their new technologies are not very good.""I don't know whether the tool has VMware integrations. It would be good to cover this area if it doesn't have those."

"If Reduxio could manage multiple Reduxio systems within the same dashboard, or manage them as a single mode, it be very, very helpful for us.""Needs some hooks into cloud storage for backup. Also they should update the system to use additional secondary storage as a resource.""I would love an iPhone app to monitor my system from outside the firewall.""Maybe it should come in stainless steel, just like its DeLorean time machine predecessor.""We had a brief hiccup, a brief outage, during one upgrade process, but it wasn't too extreme.""The latest release limits web access to the admin console via Chrome only, and that's a bit of a hassle. Would definitely prefer something less restrictive there.""The user interface for the web console could be more user-friendly, while it is flashy, how to find functions is not necessarily obvious.""There is only thing I can think of at the moment, that would be detailed printable reports."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "The price of this product is high and it should be lower."
  • "It is approximately $400 to purchase a virtual service outright."
  • "There is an annual license required for this solution and it is priced well."
  • "Pricing is most likely comparable."
  • "The retail fee is $1300 for a year for one server. Other than that, there is just the cost of your hardware."
