Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The best feature is the automation.""It is open-source. It supports microservice orchestration. This is what we are really interested in. We can customize our products depending on the use cases.""The flexibility is great.""I can use any other tools to create services and the UI, and then use them together with the Camunda BPMN engine.""The number of client implementations and cross-language capabilities to support multiple frameworks is very pluggable compared to Pega. It's also more portable.""It has an open BPM""The Camunda BPMN Platform is very flexible and gives several options to deploy and scale it.""We can share, discuss, and develop the model together — from a distance. It's really helped us during these times of isolation."

"The most valuable feature is the process documentation. For us, ARIS is a lifestyle more than a tool. It helps us learn how to think and how to plan for our system.""The ability to sort via multiple criteria to identify the relationships you need for a specific object.""The ease of use is the most valuable. I have tried a number of BPMN packages, and I find the user interface of ARIS BPM easier and more intuitive than others. If your team is knowledgeable on BPMN, it is really pretty easy to figure out on your own because it adheres to the standards extremely well. I have tried Bizagi, BizFlow, and a variety of such solutions, and I just liked ARIS BPM better.""ARIS is probably the most mature product in terms of modeling an enterprise architecture so that it has context.""The most valuable feature in the latest versions is the connect portal, where you can do very simple modeling using the web-based portal.""The initial setup and installation are very straightforward.""If you ever tried to draw a picture in a browser app or with a cloud service, it is normally a painful death. ARIS works perfectly on diagrams in the browser, so I was excited. I like it because there have been so many bad experiences in the past with drawing or doing something in a browser. Normally, it's always painful because it's coded badly. With ARIS, it is really well-implemented. It's simple.""The EPC modeling is very detailed, the semantic check is helpful, and auto-layout simplifies the formatting."

"All in all, Signavio usability is excellent. Anyone can learn to use the tool quickly. This increases acceptance as employees are not facing a high learning curve. With the offered usability it is easy to model processes also live in workshops.""As a business transformation suite, Signavio offers a number of integrated helpful tools. The Process Modeler helps with the conceptual work, but is directly integrated with the components of the Workflow Accelerator (Automation) and the Process Intelligence (Mining). This makes Signavio an indispensable service package.""The most valuable feature is probably the nature of it.""The collaboration hub is good because it allows us to share the models that we've captured and to get comments back, and we don't all have to be in the same room, it can be remote and over time.""The features I find most valuable are ease of use and the Collaboration Hub.""The ability to leave comments in the Collaboration Hub is a good and easy way for the employees to give feedback on the processes.""Process management/Process governance is what we think Signavio is very good at.""It's easy and fast. It's very quick to work with process teams in terms of improving processes. You just have to send them a URL and to have a process in front of them. I don't use all of the possibilities we have in Signavio. This has made it easier for people to adopt, because when we scrambled the process team together and started a process of improvement, it improved their process. They are much more involved than they had been earlier, and they can also use Signavio to make smaller improvements in the process for themselves. There are many more interactions between the process teams and Signavio than in our previous solution, where you had to hire in a professional process modeler. It's been a great improvement."

Cons
"The initial set up could be simplified, it's complex.""The migration strategy needs to be improved.""They have a migration plugin that can be used to migrate from one BPM to another BPM. It is in the beta stage since last year. If they can make it available in the market, it would be great. We are going to have a couple of migration projects for migrating from IBM BPM to Camunda, and this plugin would be useful. I have already discussed this with them two weeks ago and asked them to look into this and add it as a feature. We are expecting this plugin to be available in the next version. This is the only requirement we have at present. They keep on coming up with different features, which is helping us a lot. Its latest release that came out last month was awesome.""Lacking in forms visualization.""As we experienced some difficulties in the beginning, deployment took almost a month.""Process interfaces between diagrams could be improved.""The only drawback is the time that it takes to have a complete set of workflows implemented on the Camunda platform.""When trying to design rule tables the solutions graphical user interface could improve, it could be more user friendly."

More Camunda Platform Cons »

"The workflow approval process could be represented better in the overviews.""The solution is difficult and not very exciting to learn.""I believe the solutions BPM tools are not very good and need improvements.""Its governance tool and integration with ESB and execution engine can be improved. Their partner support can also be improved.""The interface is a little archaic.""The governance mechanism could be better, as could automation.""If you want to create new reports then you have to use JavaScript, or ARIS script as they call it, which is beyond the competencies of most people.""The model graphics can be exported in PDF, but the model is too small to read."

More ARIS BPA Cons »

"The collaboration and commenting are great. However, I think it would be more useful for people to get notifications of comments straight-away so we can react even quicker to them than we already can.""Customized reporting can be improved to make this a more versatile tool.""It could be more flexible from a customization point of view, where the user is able to display only whatever he needs.""I would like to see more integration with the process manager in terms of the workflow accelerator.""There are some small graphical bugs, but they are addressed immediately by Signavio to their product development team.""The user management functionality in Process Manager is not as user friendly as the one in the Collaboration Hub.""There is always room for improvement is the capability of integration with other solutions.""I would like to have the option to select the color of items and subgroups in the glossary because right now it is fixed."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Generally, the price could be better, as well as the licensing fees.""There is an open-source version available, that in its core features (workflow and decision engine, modeler) is exactly the same as in the enterprise version.""I think Camunda BPM can improve their licensing costs. It isn't easy to find clients with Camunda BPM licenses mainly because it's quite expensive.""We have an annual subscription to this solution.""We use the open-source version, which can be used at no cost.""Licensing costs are anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 USD per year.""We pay for the license of this solution annually.""We're using the open-source version for now."

"We have a concurrent license system.""The price of the solution is reasonable.""The price could be better.""This is absolutely not the cheapest solution in the market, but for large companies, the price is fine.""The setup cost and pricing depend on the license (Modeler, Viewer, Administrator).""It depends on different parameters."
