We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
Being able to use a Java-based solution makes the product flexible. The interface and the number of connectors that they provide are the most valuable features. The support here, it's kind of okay. But the main thing is with the number of connectors and the UI, the user interface. It has an open BPMIt allows me to present or to demonstrate the business process flow, visually, without having to resort to PowerPoint, Visio, or other products. The speed and execution of DMN was a big selling point for us. It's very good at conducting business processes that are easily modeled and presented in a way that's easy to understand. The solution is easily compatible with HTML forms and HTML language programming and that is the most significant part. When I compare it with other BPM tools, like IBM, it is great, open source, and free when you use the community version. The most valuable feature is the ability to share the logic within the rules engine with the business, so you can put it up for everybody to read.

The ability to sort via multiple criteria to identify the relationships you need for a specific object. This solution has helped us in terms of discovering business processes. The stability of the ARIS BPM platform is quite good. The nice thing about it is the central database, where we can use all of our data. We can even manage users. The most valuable features are business process modeling and reporting. It has the ability to scale up, as well as integrate with other systems within the organization to get real-time information from dashboards and reports. You can relate different aspects of an organization to each other, and you can clearly define the rates seen in the application. It has allowed us to model our enterprise process architecture.BPA, the modeling tool, is the main module used because of our need for documentation.

Also, the UI design was pretty easy. The solution's case management is its most valuable aspect. The most valuable feature is flexibility, as we can configure it to best suit our requirements. The solution offers excellent workflows. The solution provides us with a very good dashboard. The most valuable aspect of the solution is the various workflows. The most valuable feature is the situational layer cake.It is easy to use, easy to understand, easy to implement and easy to enhance and we can do it as a Cloud. Also it is very user friendly.

Cons
The solution could use some enhancements like adding connectors, improving forms and having a mobile app, but everything is an enhancement rather than a flaw. The support definitely can be improved. Apart from that, the language should be extendable to other platforms. If I want to write, I'll run a different platform, like Python code on top of it, or COBOL code on top of it, and it should support those languages.Lacking in forms visualization. If there were some industry templates it would have helped significantly, because it is similar to a process map for a domain. That is what we are currently creating, a domain-relevant process map.Especially when you use the open-source version, there are issues with performance.I would also like a very easy to use form builder.I would like to have a feature for audit logging, audit logs and audit log management. And some history of use for the audit logs.I would like to see the forms engine available in the open-source version of this solution.

The governance mechanism could be better, as could automation.Integration with third-party tools should be improved (e.g. based on APIs).With ARIS BPM, the script creation is quite cumbersome. With version ten, we needed our developers to do scripting.I would like to see the reporting aspects improved.Making it more customizable and easy to learn would be a benefit. One of the biggest challenges is to realistically enable the defined structures of the processes that you have in ARIS documented, and then actually implement them in the business.Displaying role allocation matrix models in ARIS Connect needs improvement.Areas for improvement include sales, prospecting, shopping, customer service, after-sales (claims and advice for the client), and all processes pertaining to customer loyalty.

It's called a local platform but on the other hand, it needs a lot of experience. It's not all that easy to click and plug and play. If you really want to use all the features out of this platform, you definitely need a lot of experience and a lot of training to get there. They are currently spending some time on improving the product with respect to machine learning, especially related to robotic automation. They probably could be a little more adept on that area would help.It is not fully compatible with all versions of Internet Explorer, so sometimes, it does not work. There are some UX shortcomings within the solution. However, it's my understanding that they have addressed them and in the next three months they will come out with a new updated version. They will be moving away from HTML5.From a technical point of view, it would be helpful to have some advanced analytics to help with configuration. We have a lot of unwanted features and it would be good to configure it more appropriately so that we are using just exactly what we need.We need more light retail BPM tools within the Pega system. However, Pega is mostly for big companies.Compared to other BPM products, the interface is somewhat complex, so the usability could be improved.Sometimes when we are patching some data from the database, we are getting added as a timeout.
