We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The initial setup is straightforward. It was just a few clicks to get started and to integrate Asana into our existing business system. It took 15 days to fully implement our projects using Asana.""Asana allows you to create your own project with sub sections with subtasks that can be assigned. The feature I really love is that you can tag people to notify them that there has been progress on a project as well as add attachments.""I love the way it monitors all of the current and past projects, and it sends notifications to keep everything on the track.""Asana has a wonderful user experience that is very easy to interact with and has tons of integrations with other products and tools.""By using this software, I have adaptability in my work, and it can improve the production of our company.""The solution scales well.""The initial setup was straightforward.""What I like most about Asana is its simplicity. For example: we're not the only ones using it, and we onboard our customers to it, and normally, they have no questions."

"The technical support is pretty good. ServiceNow has consistently provided excellent assistance.""The ease of use is the most valuable feature. It's very intuitive to set up.""The solution is scalable.""The interface is extremely user-friendly.""The most valuable features of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management are the multiple methodology possibilities for projects. It has hybrid, traditional, and Agile capabilities. Additionally, the solution integrates well with other platforms, such as Microsoft Azure.""ServiceNow brings to the market different layers with different pricing, so you can customize. And all the layers are really enterprise-ready.""The product is quite convenient and user-friendly.""The performance is good."

Cons
"The documentation could be enhanced by incorporating more visually informative videos that demonstrate how to accomplish specific tasks. While Asana's community support is valuable for answering questions, finding precise answers often requires sifting through multiple posts. Having concise and explanatory videos would greatly improve the user experience. When searching on platforms like Google, there are many individuals sharing their approaches to using Asana. However, the information provided is often not directly applicable to one's specific needs. Therefore, it would be advantageous to have comprehensive video tutorials that address common user queries. This would provide a more efficient and intuitive way of accessing information, especially when it comes to learning how to navigate and utilize Asana's features effectively.""Some updates are outdated, and their functionalities can affect the end outcomes.""If you have been using a tool like Jira for many years, it make time some time to get used to the minimalist layout in Asana.""In Asana, there's no way to add a custom date field.""The product must reduce the information on the interface.""The stability of Asana is good. However, there are some issues with maintenance, when the solution is down. For example, there might be maintained for a few hours where we cannot use the solution.""The mobile application of Asana has to be improved a lot because no one wants to do a complete project management task on mobile.""Their workflows and automation could use a big improvement. I don't even know if they have anything in that regard right now. I would really love to see a way where you can send custom alerts based on a task's completion or status change or an approval coming through. I would love to see a way to get some low-code functionality into Asana because right now, that is a big miss."

More Asana Cons →

"When we originally set it up, we had some kind of success manager free of charge, and now it's an additional charge over and above what we're paying.""When we import a really big project with a lot of tasks on it, we face some issues with dependencies. The links between tasks are not working very well. There is definitely room for improvement there. Microsoft Project, in my opinion, is the best option for such a use case.""The setup is a bit complex. It depends on the organizational needs, and sometimes, we make customizations based on those needs.""ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management could improve by having more Agile features. Other solutions, such as Rally have more.""The cost could be improved. The solution is quite pricey.""The product comes with little options out of the box.""We track salaries or paychecks of the resources. They change from time to time, such as every six months or every year. If they can come up with a default or out-of-the-box feature to manage those multiple payable costs so that we can automatically calculate the project costs rolled up. That would be the coolest feature that we can expect from ServiceNow. We would like to have an automatic feature to manage the payable costs. We should be able to manage or maintain multiple pay costs so that while calculating the project roll-up costs for individual projects, the respective pay costs in a particular period are picked up automatically from the backend. Currently, we have to customize that. It is doable. We have done it but through customization.""The price is too high."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The price of this solution makes it quite accessible, and the plans fit my budget."
  • "Asana has two different types of structures: company vs workspace. Company is really best if all the users you plan to assign work to are all internal (have the same corporate domain in their user ID email address). Once one person signs up (even for a free account) with a corporate email address, Asana will automatically relate that person to that company, if it already exists. If you plan to use it for external collaboration as well as internal, then creating a workspace is a better approach."
  • "It has a free version."
  • "There is a free version of Asana, but we use the paid version to receive all the features we want. The overall price is reasonable."
  • "Its price is fair. Its licensing cost is cheaper than Microsoft Project. I would rate it a two out of five in terms of pricing."
  • "For what it brings to the table, I think Asana is fairly affordable. I would like to see the portfolio feature in our pricing plan, but other than that, it's definitely pretty good."
  • "We're on the business tier, which is $25 a month if you're on an annual contract. It's $31 if you're on a month-to-month contract. In my experience, there are no hidden costs with Asana. I know Smartsheet has these add-ons that you can buy, which is an additional cost, but Asana doesn't have any add-ons that I know of. When you're trying to scale the product and want to add users, you have to do it in buckets of five. This is also something to consider."
  • "This solution is reasonably priced."

  • "They sell some things in bundles, and it could be handier that some of those things could be sold in another way, like purity models and other packages. Another thing that I'm struggling with is the pricing of ServiceNow's FYE experience, which includes the tools that are positioned for supporting HR."
  • "It is a little expensive. We are in Brazil, and for us, it is a little expensive."
  • "The solution could improve by being less expensive and the pricing model is confusing. Many people are getting charged different amounts. There are additional fees that they are adding on."
  • "We have a team of about 6,500 employees across the globe. So, the amount of money I'm going to save by putting the money on the table for the implementation and licenses is very high."
  • "The cost of the solution should not be more than $50,000 annually."
  • "I would rate the cost as five out of ten."
  • "The licensing is based on metrics and is tailored to customer's needs."
  • "I rate the price of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management a seven out of ten."

    Overview

Asana is web-based software-as-a-service that helps teams coordinate and manage their work. It helps companies move faster by making sure everyone knows the team’s plan and process and who is doing what by when.

Each user can create projects using a list, board, calendar, or timeline view. Within each project, users can add tasks, subtasks, sections, comments, attachments, start and due dates, and custom fields. Project and task followers get notifications on changes or comments on the project and/or task in their Inbox. Individual users can see all of the tasks they're responsible for across all of their projects in a view called My Tasks.
