Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"There is a good library of templates for a wide range of needs.""The templates are a valuable feature. You can make templates. There is a space inside where you can create pages. When you use the template, the page auto-generates text and images. You do not have to think about the structure of your page as well, which I think is a very good thing for a user. Because usually when you're in front of a blank page, it can be a bit dreadful to know where to start.""For me, the most valuable feature is its high performance. It's crucial for us in the bank, as we handle a massive number of transactions every day.""It is easy to use.""The best feature is document management.""Great shareable and co-editing features.""Collaboration is most valuable. You can upload or create your documents on Confluence and share them with your team members. Your team members also can share documents.""Many people enjoy its zero learning-curve."

"It has a robust search but has often been difficult for people to learn.""We like how the solution allows us to have retention of records and workflows, as well as its fire plan.""I did not face issues with the product's scalability...The solution's technical support is good.""The product can be integrated with different solutions.""An advantage is integration with your IP directory.""The tool's implementation has made life easier for customers. It is sold by SAP. The integration between SAP and the solution is good, making it easy to access the documents. It is widely recognized as a market leader in enterprise document management."

Cons
"Atlassian Confluence's old versions consume too much memory, making it an area where optimization is required from an improvement perspective.""The cost of the solution is too high.""This is kind of by design, however, the lack of control in terms of editing the page to make it look the way you want it to look is an issue. It would be nice if there was more flexibility there.""The UI is good but bland. It could be updated a bit to make it more modern and interesting to look at.""It would be good if they can continue working towards making documentation and editing as quick and easy as possible. It has got a lot of capability, but I don't know how to use it. I don't find some of the things that intuitive. Sometimes, it doesn't seem obvious to me how to use it, but it is like learning any new tool. You actually need to get trained on the tool to get maximum out of it.""Some macros can be technical, and they are better managed on the Confluence cloud rather than on-premises. For example, when you add an image on the cloud, you can resize it just by using the mouse. This is not the case on-premises yet. You have to write pixels of the size of the image sometimes. Some of the very old macros are still there, and some of them are technical. It can be hard for users if they are not from an IT background to understand how to use them quickly.""It lacks ease of integration.""Confluence cannot replace Microsoft Word at the moment, so even though it can be used as a document management system, it is not meant for document creation, which adds a lot of limitations to it."

More Atlassian Confluence Cons →

"Support could be enhanced. The first line of support consists of individuals who lack experience with some key aspects. When you create a support ticket, the time to resolve the issue may be prolonged because the first person may not understand the system or the solution.""OpenText Content Manager needs to improve its user interface. Its installation process is difficult and can be made easier.""Due to very limited use in the industry, vendor and contract support are hard to find.""The ease of use should be addressed.""The stability of the solution is an area of concern where improvements can be made.""The product could improve its scalability."
