We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The CDC and the flexibility to use QVD as a source are the most valuable features of Qlik Replicate.""Support has been great.""It enables us to transform data at the latest stage rather than in ETL loads, so it's more ELT which is one of the advantages. It is also in near real-time, which brings significant advantage for our embedded analytics approach.""Low-priced reporting and analytics solution, with good scalability and stability. It has on-premises and cloud versions that are cohesive and can integrate well.""Qlik Replicate stands out with its cutting-edge technology and its ability to handle diverse data management tasks. This powerful tool allows us to efficiently and swiftly load data into various data stores or destinations, while also enabling easy distribution across different endpoints. A notable feature is its capability to reload data from multiple sources by creating multiple tasks within a brief timeframe of fifteen to twenty minutes. This eliminates the need for manual intervention and ensures quick data loading from different tables.""We use Qlik Replicate to change data capture of databases in production environments.""Great with replicating and updating records.""From a technical perspective, this is an excellent product."

"Talend is safe to use because it is very restrictive. It is easy to use when one learns how to manipulate data with SQL.""It is easy to use and covers most of the functions needed. We can use the code without any extra effort. The open source is very good. They have the same commercials with additional connectors. The graphical design environment is also very easy.""The solution's technical support is responsive and helpful.""It has got so many connectors. It is intuitive and easy to use.""The initial setup was quite straightforward. The deployment took between two and three days.""The initial setup of the product was very easy.""Talend Open Studio is easy to create jobs. We use the basic functionality and it is very good.""Talend lets you do everything — mapping, workflow, and orchestration — in a single place."

Cons
"In various scenarios, an important consideration is when we encounter issues and Qlik Replicate suggests reloading a specific table. If we face any problems or encounter errors with that table, it becomes necessary to make a change in Qlik Replicate. Performing a full reload every time is not feasible or practical. Instead, we should identify the specific issues and address them without repeating the entire reloading process. Based on this approach, we can investigate and resolve the problem by performing targeted loads from the source itself. This change aligns with my perspective and is something I would like to implement.""Support-wise, this solution is in need of improvement.""In the next release, I would like to see closer integration with data catalyst.""The UI and data version control can be improved.""The solution's flexibility to work with APIs should also be improved since it is very weak in working with APIs.""We would like to see more details in messages about errors with the system.""This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved.""Support for this product is not great. It needs to be improved."

More Qlik Replicate Cons →

"The profiling perspective needs improvement. Instead of using it in the studio, we are using a different tool which is also provided by Talend. It's redundant.""There used to be many Youtube channels that offered Talend training, but now there don't seem to be any. The solution should offer more online training resources.""The pricing could be lower. They should work to make it more affordable.""Talend Open Studio is in Java language, and right now, you can only use the debug functionality in Java. I see that people who know programming languages other than Java currently face difficulties.""In terms of what can be improved, the scheduling is not there in the sister version, while it is there in the cloud one, which is a paid version. If all kinds of scheduling could be available on the Open Studio that we generally use and practice on, that would be great. The scheduling of the data migration is currently not available in the sister version of Talend Open Studio that we are working on. It is available in the advanced version of the Talend. This is the one thing that can be improvised.""The high price of the solution is an area of concern where improvements are required.""Talent consumes a lot of resources on my PC.""The security features could be improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the Talend Open Studio solution.

Elio B., Data Integration Specialist/CTO at Asset messages, says, "The solution has a good balance between automated items and the ability for a developer to integrate and extend what he needs. Other competing tools do not offer the same grade of flexibility when you need to go beyond what is provided by the tool. Talend, on the other hand, allows you to expand very easily."

A Practice Head, Analytics at a tech services company mentions, “The data integration aspect of the solution is excellent. The product's data preparation features are very good. There's very useful data stewardship within the product. From a technical standpoint, the solution itself is pretty good. There are very good pre-built connectors in Talend, which is good for many clients or businesses, as, in most cases, companies are dealing with multiple data sources from multiple technologies. That is where a tool like Talend is extremely helpful.”

Prerna T., Senior System Executive at a tech services company, comments, “The best thing I have found with Talend Open Studio is their major support for the lookups. With Salesforce, when we want to relate our child objects to their parent object, we need to create them via IDs. Then the upsert operation, which will allow you to relate a child object to the event, will have an external ID. That is the best thing which keeps it very sorted. I like that.”

An Implementation Specialist, Individual Contributor at a computer software company, states, “I can connect with different databases such as Oracle Database or SQL Server. It allows you to extract the data from one database to another. I can structure the data by filtering and mapping the fields.” He also adds, “It is very user-friendly. You need to know the basics of SQL development or SQL queries, and you can use this tool.”

PeerSpot user Badrakh V., Information System Architect at Astvision, explains, "The most valuable features are the ETL tools."
