We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"A great feature that you seldom see in these kind of systems is the ability to use a database as trigger to launch a task. This is something I asked for a few years ago and that was added.""This tool has machine learning and voice recognition and computer vision, which are both quite useful aspects. These aren't available in other tools. It's a good addition to this tool and it gives the solution an edge on the market.""Fortra's Automate performs the job effectively and has the capability to alert us of any issues.""I actually quite liked the no-coding functionality.""This product is quite easy to install, learn, and use, with our new employees being able to start using it in projects for clients after only two weeks of internal training.""The most valuable features for my client are timing and scheduling.""I find it very user-friendly. Our IT department and other departments can seamlessly collaborate without requiring extensive training. As a business department, we particularly value this aspect, as our team doesn't consist of many IT users. However, we couldn't solely rely on a drag-and-drop approach to implement and utilize the solution within our departments.""The solution is continuously adding more integrations to help with workflows and bot and task creation."

"The most valuable feature is the flexibility in using it.""Newgen will structure the system based on all the requirements of the business. We can design the forms as complex forms or make our own versions to fix what's wrong.""The most valuable features of Newgen OmniFlow are the user interface, the low-code no-code designer tools, and the integration models are important.""The most valuable feature for us is the Omnicon. That made sense for us because our company is now able to capture information from documents.""They are a good team that is proactive, and they are trying to accommodate all of our requirements.""It is working fine so far. I haven't heard anything bad about it from the applications team that is using it, so I assume that it is doing okay.""The UI is easy. It's not very code based, so you can make certain changes on your end."

Cons
"The documentation for errors needs improvement as many of the error messages we receive are very vague.""The intelligent automation feature could be improved. It's interesting because it's simple, but the automation quality isn't always good. It's easy to use, but sometimes you need to make a slight improvement to the automation, and that's not so easy.""While this solution is continually improving, as it is now, the user interface could use improvement when I compare it to a product like UiPath.""There is room for improvement regarding cloud functionality; there are a few missing features, and the logging could be better, especially air logging. We can go into logging events and create our own task, but it would be nice if this were more detailed.""Some companies have asked for voice integration. This is likely part of the roadmap.""Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be.""The vendor is currently working on a solution that allows us to automatically create a process that is based on a document that we receive via email.""They do not encrypt passwords, so this is an issue with HIPAA compliance."

More Fortra's Automate Cons →

"In terms of stability, like every product it has its issues.""At the system level, I would like to see things be much more flexible, especially for different document templates and introducing changes.""Newgen OmniFlow could improve by having more out-of-the-box integration modules. It would be beneficial to have an analytics model that is not currently present.""There should be some reporting and dashboarding capabilities. I don't see such capabilities built into it. Sometimes, the leadership wants to understand the business cases that we want to automate. We face a lot of challenges to justify why we are using Newgen, and we need a way to present that to the leadership. If there is something out of the box and if we can get meaningful dashboards and reporting capabilities, it would be helpful.""We had consistent issues of Newgen OmniFlow crashing. It's not compatible with bounce browsers like Chrome.""I would like to see more automated analytics built into the solution.""The development teams should be more agile and they need to have more team members."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
  • "I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
  • "It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
  • "While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
  • "I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
  • "The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
  • "From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
  • "The cost is a bit high for a small business like ours, but we manage with Fortra's Automate."
