We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We use AA Client, Bot runners, Control room, IQ Bot, Bot insights. With the AA Client, we are able to automate almost all kinds of automation requirements without any big challenges. We found the availability of the number of commands provided by AA is really helpful to do automation within a small time frame.""We're able to create reusable components. We don't want people to have to rebuild things from scratch. In this way, developers can take the reusable components and complete their development processes more quickly.""The most valuable feature is its Excel integration.""It frees individuals up from mundane tasks so they can concentrate on being more active and creative other things that they need to do.""We get a significant ROI even though the licensing cost is higher than average. The gains we realize from the initial development make up for it. In the last three years, I estimate we have saved around 2,200 hours of labor. To date, we've saved almost $6 million.""I like Automation Anywhere's cloud-based nature. You don't need any on-prem infrastructure to host it.""The ability to customize added automation to a lot of situations where human judgment and interpretation are not required.""Movement on cloud architecture according to me provided by AA2019, will be most beneficial as it will be easy to use and will provide flexibility."

"The replay of the automation is an awesome feature.""There's a helpful community available through the portal.""It is a stable product. We have been using it for 15 months now, and there have been no issues.""This solution is easy to use and requires little coding knowledge.""The return on investment is pretty good because the license cost is cheaper than other RPA tools in the market.""I have found the most valuable feature to be the straightforward visual editor, it has close to no code required. It allowed us to deploy the email monitoring in this couple of weeks.""For machine learning, there is an in-built document and text classification feature in INTELLIBOT. That is unlike other RPA tools where one needs to procure a separate license. Besides this, the application is easy to use. One valuable feature is the drag-and-drop feature for AI and email intelligence. It is easier than using UiPath's IQ bot."

Cons
"Productivity increased when we implemented Automation Anywhere, but it did not meet the client's expectations regarding the number of human workers it replaced.""In the version that we have, there are some challenges with the browser-based applications, the cloning of the objects, and the solution's stability.""AI would enable improved automation and faster training times that would be reduced from one month to one week.""I'd like to see the OCR feature be perfected. Today we get an accuracy ratio from OCR of around 40 percent to 50 percent only.""Setting up Automation Anywhere is a bit complex.""I think the pricing model should be more flexible.""I noticed that from version 10.5 to 11.3 the number of clicks to start a bot through the Control Room and Schedule Manager have increased. In certain cases, I would like to see that become simpler, faster, and easier.""At some places, the if-else statements become so confusing so, at that place, they can change the UI for better understanding. Apart from this I liked this tool and would like to continue working on this."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"The solution is heavily dependant on scripts, such as JavaScript or any other external script that needs to be a part of the system. If they want to grow, the scripting dependency should go away. They should have built-in libraries to pull in work from.""Has limited functionality and uses extensive resources.""The trigger actions need to be more robust.""I would like to see the cognitive marketing platform improved.""The first pain point of INTELLIBOT was with the development. Whenever the company developed any command, they published it directly onto their SQL site, and our current automation got auto-updated. The second pain point was with the action set. It could be stronger. Moreover, if I am doing UiPath automation, I have to do it with the Internal Report for now.""Currently, there are not many documents available on Google that explain each activity and how to use it or how to use the parameters and pass values.""A couple of times, we noticed that some bugs caused the bot to go in the wrong flow."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "INTELLIBOT with the DPA costs approximately $1,500 USD."
  • "The solution requires a license and we purchased one annually. We were satisfied with the price."
  • "At the time, one license was $5,000 USD. If we needed to negotiate for more licenses, we could negotiate a bit on the price."
  • "It is quite cheap. In the year 2019, it was $1000 for a year."
