We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain.""Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration.""Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.""The stability is very good.""he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"

"The solution is easy to use.""It's not heavy on the system.""Our favorite feature is the PC Patch Management.""It's straightforward to set up.""Avast as a product is as easy as it gets - everything is outlined and transparent in terms of licensing.""The performance is good compared to other products that slow down the laptop, post-installation.""It has increased productivity. IT threats are kept at a minimum because of this product.""The ease of deployment and the command center that they have are the most valuable. It is basically self-monitoring. It doesn't require that much tinkering after you deploy or install."

More Avast Business Hub Pros →

"It protects your machine, and it does an excellent job using AI to determine an attack and stop the attack. Its most powerful feature is prevention, and it can unwind ransomware activity as well. So, it is a really useful product in that sense.""The most valuable features of SentinelOne are the endpoint detection of threats, and it does not only rely on signatures for detection.""The most valuable feature is that it does what it says it will do. It fulfills its claims. It’s not really common for products to do that today.""The fact that SentinelOne is actively looking for threats and runs them against the hash on the Internet to determine if they are malicious or not, is what takes it to the next level compared to other antivirus products.""The most valuable feature of SentinelOne is the good graph it provides. It has a specific page where it detects the recent attacks on other machines or the hackers, for example, group APT28 and all.""It is a good endpoint solution. That's the reason we chose it. We looked at other solutions, such as CrowdStrike, and based on the cost and the services it delivers, it was the better choice.""The XDR capability is quite good.""Tracking down which devices don't currently have SentinelOne on them is the most valuable feature of the product."

Cons
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud.""The solution is not stable.""The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions""Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office.""The support needs improvement.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"It could download faster during deployment.""Making the price a bit cheaper would be an improvement.""Where I have faced a challenge is on the reporting. I would like to see something that provides information regarding the next month or quarter, in terms of reporting.""Avast Business Endpoint Protection would be improved with more frequent updates.""It should have proper and timely updates to deal with new viruses as they come onto the market.""It reduces network and bandwidth speed.""The solution could improve by providing more security.""The accuracy of the scanner could be improved."

More Avast Business Hub Cons →

"Ranger does provide me with visibility of the network, but not completely because the assets it scans are often mistakenly identified regarding what type of device they are.""I would appreciate it if they would consider providing a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report that goes beyond just application vulnerabilities.""Singularity's reporting isn't that great. The dashboards could be more customizable. It could be better integrated with other tools. SIEM tools provide better feeds. Singularity is a separate product altogether. It does not give enough information to integrate with different solutions to correlate better.""One of the things they could do is extend the product range to include Android and iPhone so that you could have the app on your phone as well. There is probably something going on there with that, but that's something that they're lacking at the moment. For instance, if I was to have to recommend a client to protect their phone, I'd have to recommend Norton or something else. I don't have an answer within the SentinelOne solution.""The grouping feature needs improvement.""The solution can improve by adding more granular firewall capabilities.""Periodically we have an application that does not work correctly when SentinelOne is installed, yet performs as expected when SentinelOne is removed.""The role-based access is in dire need of improvement. We actually discussed this on a roadmap call and were informed that it was coming, but then it was delayed. It limits the roles that you can have in the platform, and we require several custom roles. We work with a lot of third-parties whom we rely on for some of our IT services. Part of those are an external SOC function where they are over-provisioned in the solution because there isn't anything relevant for the level of work that they do."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
