We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has some features that other products don't have yet, differentiation that sets it apart in the marketplace... Those features are a centralized dashboard and the ability to issue and revoke entitlements within minutes. That makes a difference.""It's relatively straightforward to set up, especially if you are deploying to the cloud.""The privileged access management into sensitive systems is very valuable. That includes control from the endpoint all the way through to the managing of passwords and credentials that are used by the person to access the sensitive information. It's very useful, because nobody ever really maintains passwords for those endpoint systems. It's maintained in the Dropbox password file.""The most valuable feature is the asset discovery, which makes it very easy to locate and identify assets and pull them into the manager.""One of the valuable features is the absence of any local user in a unique system. All users are defined in the AD; communication is only between Unix and AD.""BeyondTrust has very good integrations with quite a lot of security vendors such as SailPoint, IBM, FortiGuard, Splunk, etc.""The solution's technical support is good.""I find the solution’s features like section management, password management, and analytics valuable."

"The vault and auditing capabilities are the most valuable feature because they include multiple reports that allow us to create our own reports.""There are benefits in the security realm. We use Delinea at an enterprise level. I imagine there are productivity gains, but moreover, it's the security. We don’t enable staff to see the passwords of boxes but it's all being tracked and logged now.""The solution is flexible.""This is a cloud-based application, which makes it very easy to deploy.""Delinea Privileged Access Service's UI part was very user-friendly for secure credential storage and management.""The most valuable feature of Delinea Privileged Access Service is we can use the server as a jump host. It is simple to manage the accounts on the system.""The most valuable feature is the author's discovery of assets.""The reporting is excellent."

Cons
"The product should improve its price.""How the accounts are presented in the solution's UI can be improved.""Reports to the end user.""The help system should be improved to provide a quick help guide with each tab within the solution, which explains what each particular function does.""We use a program to automate all of this, but it's not a default feature of BeyondTrust Endpoint Privilege Management.""It only has limited support for Mac.""There are three types of endpoints. If we need to use them in the solution, then we need to purchase the licenses separately. The tool needs to improve its licensing.""There is room for improvement in having the solution align more with standards. We're always shoehorning the product into the standards. It's not that it doesn't work for standards, it does. But Quick Start Policies are pretty close to what we need. The vendor needs to keep looking at GDPR, 27001, and 27701. That's why our clients buy the product."

More BeyondTrust Endpoint Privilege Management Cons →

"There needs to be a notification when a password is near expiration.""The initial setup is a bit complex.""Although the interface is intuitive, it could be a little more user-friendly.""With Delinea Privileged Access Service, when installing the identity connectors to configure with AD, the configuration was not happening properly.""Enhancing the solution by incorporating additional features to make it comprehensive would be beneficial. It would be more convenient to have a complete package solution that consolidates all the features in one place, making it easier to manage. Currently, I am required to access two separate servers for reports, which could be avoided if all the necessary features were available in a single location. This would be highly advantageous for managing everything effectively.""The pricing and presence could be improved.""The integration with sync could be improved.""This solution needs better integration with third-party solutions because their ability to support other tools is very weak."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I'm sure everyone should have the cluster environment, which means more expensive, anyway, cheaper than the other solutions."
  • "PowerBroker for a Mac client is three times the price of the Windows version."
  • "What BeyondTrust was providing was user-based licensing which was a great benefit from the client point of view. Recently, I don't know why, the licensing model has been changed, and that is the reason that they have lost a bit of their edge when it comes to the PAM, against our competition. The asset-based licensing, from the user's point of view, is not beneficial. The licensing should be based on the users. The greater the number of users, the greater will be the load and the greater the scalability problems. I presume that is why the licensing model has changed."
  • "This solution is expensive compared to its competitors."
  • "Price-wise, it is very competitive. In our area, government entities and banks don't go for the monthly payment. It is a headache even for us in terms of finance and procurement to go for monthly payments. Quarterly might be more logical and reasonable, but the minimum that we go for is one year, and sometimes, we even try to compile and give one offering for three years."
  • "Its pricing and licensing are okay. We were in the perpetual model when it was on-prem, and now, with the SaaS service, we have a subscription model. As a customer, I would always like to see a lower price, but it seems to be priced at the right model currently, and we are trying to get the maximum benefits out of it."
  • "The product’s licensing is different for Windows, Linux, and Mac. The tool’s licensing is yearly."
  • "It was very expensive."

  • "It is sad that people with a limited budget won't be able to afford it."
  • "The price model is based on the number of devices and opposed to the number of users, and it is not very flexible."
  • "The product comes at a very good price and it's quite competitive, although you need to buy add-ons for certain things."
  • "In addition to the license fees, we have to pay for the server and admin fees."
  • "The price of Delinea Privileged Access Service is average compared to its competitors."
  • "The solution is priced too high, so I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
  • "The price is cheap if I compare Delinea Privileged Access Service with other products."

Delinea Privilege Service provides all of your IT administration teams with secure, granular access to infrastructure regardless of location, and without the hassles of a VPN.
Secure browser-based access Authorized IT users launch management sessions for resources directly from the Privilege Service portal. Sessions use SSH and RDP protocols, and are always protected end-to-end.

Access across organizational boundaries Privilege Service enables you to authenticate your IT users through Active Directory, LDAP Cloud Directory, or Google G Suite
Directory. You can use one or any combination of these identity stores to grant granular access to employees, business partners and outside vendors.

Grant access to specific resources Unlike a VPN, Privilege Service enables you to grant access to
resources on a on a per-resource basis. This means that you can easily give your internal IT admins access to as much of your infrastructure as necessary, while limiting access by an outsourced
team to only the servers and network hardware their business role or IT function requires.

Access from any location Your IT admins can log in and securely access resources from any location that can reach the Privilege Service. For user logins outside the corporate network, you can require Delinea's built-in multi-factor authentication for security stronger than a user name and password.
