We performed a comparison between BeyondTrust Password Safe and Keeper based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Password Managers solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Screen recording is valuable, and integration with applications is easy. We can customize whatever we want. We did a lot of application integration using scripting."
"I like the session recording feature. I also like the analytics and reports. You can pull up a report, and the UI is fantastic. The system is recording when nobody's there, so we have a record of what's happening."
"The CI/CD and REST API are also satisfactory; the solution has a full PAM feature set and they all work well."
"BeyondTrust Password Safe has good reporting and Smart Rules which makes it convenient. Though Smart Rules are convenient, those who do not have much experience with such things may find it difficult to understand how these things work. Otherwise, I find Smart Rules very convenient to work with."
"The actual innovations offered by the vendor stand out to me. They are quick to respond to market demands and the changing environment of privileged access management."
"It is very easy to deploy. It's easy to use. That's the major thing I like about it."
"Smart Rules is a nice feature in BeyondTrust. It is a unique feature that BeyondTrust has as compared to other vendors such as CyberArk. With Smart Rules, you can do automatic onboarding of accounts. There are a lot of options and features. For example, you can do onboarding based on different AD attributes. It is a nice feature in BeyondTrust that some of the other PAM vendors don't have. With other vendors, we have to create our own scripts, whereas, with BeyondTrust, we can just use the in-built Smart Rules."
"It provides integrated password and session management in one solution, which is important for us because, from an auditing standpoint, we are accountable for the type of access being used. We need to ensure that accounts are securely stored and there is the right type of accountability around who is gaining the access. After gaining it, how they're using it, where they're using it, etc."
"I like a couple of things about this solution. Being able to share passwords with other people is valuable. You can see if the information is out on the dark web and whether you have weak passwords and the last time they were changed. You could also have the 2FA or MFA codes embedded in the application so that you don't have to use your phone or any other 2FA device, which is something very important."
"I like the tool's keyword editor and SSO."
"Stronger passwords are being used across the board in our organization."
"We can access our sign-ins and passwords on up to five devices per user. This means I can access a given site and my login and password for that site from my home and office computers as well as my phone and iPad."
"It is nice to be able to use my Touch ID and have access to all my passwords in one place."
"Keeper Bridge."
"It keeps my passwords organized and safe."
"I can access my passwords from any Internet connected device."
"The pricing is not cheap, but it could be better."
"We face screensaver timeout issues and problems with the server. I would like the product to include a server visibility feature."
"I think that BeyondTrust Password Safe could be improved with more testing. In the beginning, they were practically using customers as beta testers. Maybe the product has evolved since I last used it, but if you look at PAM, privileged access management, whatever's out there has already been done. I don't see there being any other enhancements that are being made regarding PAM, except to support more cloud-based applications."
"The database instance onboarding should be simplified. The problem is that you can scan the assets and databases inside a server, but you cannot onboard them or manage them with the smart tools. It has to be done manually. I think they should try to include more custom platforms."
"Its documentation can be improved. Its documentation is currently complicated, and it is not good. It needs to be better. Their technical support can also be improved. It is not bad, but it can be better."
"The integration with Secure Remote Access must be improved."
"The product needs to have better integration with SAP products."
"There is a limited capacity on the appliance, which I wasn't informed about when I purchased the product. I can have a maximum of 150 rules per appliance; any more than that and rule processing becomes very complex, especially regarding password revision. Hitting a capacity limit you don't know about can be problematic. Ideally, we would not have a limited capacity, allowing us to be in a completely managed state with password rotation for every service account, not just the highly privileged ones."
"Ability to set up password profiles that can predefine custom fields and password complexity."
"The password rotation feature could be improved."
"I would like to see a way to store files and photos in the next update. If it already does this, I have yet to explore it."
"They could possibly add a pre-designed contact feature that would work similar to a cell phone contact feature."
"Room for improvement in my eyes would be being able to share my credit cards and other types of information. The only thing they really share is passwords, and you can only do it with one password at a time. When you're trying to share it out or trying to remove it from being shared, you can't do multiple selections."
"The technical support for this solution could be faster support and improved if they had a better understanding of my questions."
"I would love it if you didn't have to re-authenticate when you start up a new browser."
"The stability of the solution can be improved."
