We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The solution is extremely stable. It has excellent performance.""The most valuable feature is the website protection capabilities because it prevents end-users from entering bad sites that potentially have malware or could be used for phishing.""Helps block personal email accounts.""Its simplicity is most valuable. I can install it and get it up and running, and it can be pervasive across my business within a business day. It is pretty simple and straightforward to install and configure. Its remit is reasonably clearly defined. When you look at solutions like Darktrace and Carbon Black, the mission objective isn't as clearly defined. Cisco Umbrella, Sophos Central, or some of the other solutions have a more standardized approach to antivirus, which includes enhanced response from the machine learning or deep learning perspective.""The security and access control features.""The most valuable feature is the ability to block users from reaching places that they should not even try to reach has been a boon.""What we like most is security and how easy it is to integrate with other appliances.""The weekly reportings are great. The investigation is super and the application management is equally great."

"The initial setup was straightforward, which was a huge win. That mostly goes to the fact that they are agentless. We didn't have to sit there deploying thousands of agents and all the things that go along with that type of deployment. We were up and running very quickly.""The core CASB solution is the most valuable part. It allows us to put policies in place around which devices can log into our cloud applications. We have a policy that states that only company devices can access these cloud applications.""The solution is very good when it comes to securing us against data leakage, because of the other proxy. It also has API scanning or data at rest. It inspects data in motion, which is the proxy, and then it has the data at rest, which is the API scanning. We can inspect for anything we want: file fingerprinting, PHI-sensitive data, PCI-sensitive data. It does not matter. We can usually find it and block it in transit and do our remediation with it. It could either be block, encrypt, or allow and watermark the file to follow it and see where it goes. It allows for those different scenarios.""The solution’s AJAX-VM provides constant reverse proxy uptime. It has been very positive for our security operations. When people are trying to access the SaaS solution, it protects us from downloading any of that data and experiencing any type of attacks""The biggest thing that I like about this product is that it's easy to use and teach. When we have somebody new starting to work with the product, it's easy to teach them. It's also easy to use the product as it does so much.""We are able to verify what is getting saved out onto the cloud. It allows us to have some DLP rules, since we have to be HIPAA compliant. If some personal health information has been uploaded to Office 365, then we are able to detect that sort of thing and account for it. We have set up rules to prevent people from doing that."

"The GUI is quite nice.""The feature that I find to be most valuable is the flexibility of the single endpoint.""In terms of functionality, Forcepoint is the best web proxy available.""One of the main features I have found the solution to be efficient.""For the most part, the solution, when set up correctly, works fine.""The spam filter is very effective.""The critical role is web URL filtering.""The most valuable feature is the categorization, where you can allow general access to an application but limit specific features."

Cons
"It's a very new product, so it's quite immature at the moment. It can be more user friendly.""The integration with Cisco could be better.""Missing a real data leakage prevention solution.""User interface could be a little smoother and more intuitive.""Actually, we recently switched over to Zscaler because it has more features and it's more scalable than Cisco Umbrella.""One of the issues with Umbrella is as you get into endpoint detection and response, such as EDR point solutions, some of them will not integrate well with Umbrella. Sometimes when you want to use technology, such as Always On VPN, it will not work. There are some looming issues as one type of technology starts to crossover with Umbrella. That is the challenge and Umbrella should find a way to be more compatible with some of the endpoint response solutions that are coming out on the market.""Looking at the full umbrella suite in the light of SASE, Secure Access Service Edge, they are clearly lacking in the inline CASB.""It should have a real-time malware classification engine. It should check the malware on the website. It would be good if it had a real-time malware check for the websites because currently, it just compares the DNS queries of the blacklist. It should also have malware control over file execution and the types of files that the users are allowed to download."

"Integration into different multi-factor authentication tools. On their page, they tout Duo, but I don't use Duo. I use another vendor. Not that they don't interact, but it takes a little bit more doing. Any amount of efficiencies here would help.""Initially, we had some challenges that Bitglass resolved quickly. The challenges were around communication. There didn't seem like there was the right level of communication within the Bitglass organization. Once we brought the issues up at a higher level, then they were resolved.""In our environment, when an Active Directory password changes, we tend to have some latency issues with access. It takes about 15 minutes before that password is accessible through Bitglass after the change. That would be the major thing I see as a negative.""I wish they would advance more into the endpoint DLP solution. Currently they do not do anything around endpoint, they're still strictly cloud-based. The forward proxy is really the only thing they do. What I would like to see them do is to scan machines, workstations and servers, for information we might not want on those machines. That would be huge.""Their new SASE (secure access service edge) product would have been the one thing I would have requested. Now that they have that platform, I'd like to see it as integrated and seamless as possible with the core product. That's what they're working towards and that's where we're seeing the advancements."

"But the deployment could be easier. It might take from one day to three days. Usually, that involves an engineer from the vendor and a working team at the enterprise.""A feature we wish to see addressed in the next release of Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway involves its administration.""We have a lot of false positives, which is one area that can be improved.""The solution should be better able to support itself and operate faster. Sometimes the technical support team takes too long to respond.""It's the support that's the problem because that's a different question from the product itself — it's the Achilles heel.""I have been in contact with technical support several times, and I am not happy with them.""Sometimes attacks or a new ransomware gets through.""Stability needs some improvement, we have on occasion experienced some delay when it is synchronized."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The price depends on the use case, and it's a bit linear. But it depends on the customer's strategy and how Cisco plans to optimize the costs.""I think it's worth the money.""In the region I'm from, that of EMAR, Europe, the Middle East, Eastern Asia and Africa, our organizations do not have many liquid cash assets, so the price could be better.""The price of Cisco Umbrella is a little higher than similar solutions, like Gateway.""The price is quite good.""The licensing part for Umbrella is really flexible.""The price could be lower.""I am not sure, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it's $1.00 or so per device/month."

More Cisco Umbrella Pricing and Cost Advice »

"We have our pricing by user. We do our pricing agreements annually. There are also additional costs for maintenance.""There is training involved. If you're going to add more people to it, such as cross train more of your group, there's a cost. Other than that, that's it. We have paid exactly what the invoices have said. We signed a three-year contract and not gone above it.""Typically, the longer you price forward, the better off you're going to be. They have been very willing to work with us on pricing."

More Bitglass Pricing and Cost Advice »

"Overall, I am not aware of the option to pay for one time use of Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway.""The price of this product should be reduced to make it more competitive.""The solution is priced a little high compare to similar solutions.""The licensing is not expensive.""The price of this solution is reasonable.""Licensing is flexible. License pricing information is based on the customer, their environment, and on the future approach."
