It can integrate some third-party solutions, and it's highly flexible.""We use many of this solution's features for communication and for process automation. It offers more functionality than a regular CRM.""Bitrix24's workflow is better than that of others. The user interface is also good.""The data interpretation feature in Bitrix24 is good."

"The product makes it easy to manage lists, forms, searching, and security. One of the most valuable features is its integration with Active Directory.""It's stable. It's very widely used by companies. Also, the knowledge of the product has improved over the years, and by other companies that support it or are Microsoft SharePoint partners. So if there are problems, there's always a user or company that knows the information or can help you; even with very uncommon problems.""It offers an easy way to store unstructured content (.pdf, .doc, .xls, images) and to tag them with metadata.""Staff training is reduced because learning basic SharePoint is not as complicated as an EDRMS.""We can arrange all our documents on one platform and see the document's changes and edits.""Document flows, storage, and numbering take off the actions for checking and assigning the numbering and running around with approvals and pre-approvals.""Its configuration management ability is critical for document-based systems.""The ability to have version control and co-editing is vital to our workflows."

Cons
"In my opinion, everything needs improvement. It all starts with the user experience. It's extremely difficult to use, it's always lagging, It doesn't look particularly appealing, in terms of how it looks, and it is extremely difficult to locate the stages.""The support provided by Bitrix24 is an area with shortcomings that needs improvement.""It would be great if colleagues could get alerts via email when they are assigned something.""In our organization, we feel that the UI and the functionalities for workflows in the solution need a lot of improvement.""Our financial department does not use Bitrix24 because it's not good for the sort of work they do. So, once we create an invoice in Bitrix24, we sent it to the client and the financial department and they enter it separately into their system. This is not great for us since we can't track what happens after a sale.""This solution was built using old technology which is now mixed with new technologies. This can make it challenging to get new features live.""The client interface is not very user-friendly.""The stability could be improved."

More Bitrix24 Cons →

"The way to change the version of the files in SharePoint should be improved. The method of synchronizing files from local to the cloud can also use improvement.""The areas of this solution that need improvement are the relationships between lists, cross-site web parts, and page-building tools.""Flexibility and extensibility, above everything, could be improved.""It will fully use your system resources.""Search can be improved a lot because we are always trying to compare it with Google Search. Beyond that, it would be helpful to tag the documents.""It should have a Google-caliber search ability and a model-based GUI.""The integration with Outlook could be improved.""SharePoint Online could improve the user interface and when modifying any of the user interfaces can be challenging. Additionally, there are challenges with the detail in the analytics user interface and the overall customization could improve."

At Mediacurrent we often get requests to compare Drupal to other platforms used for intranet sites and social business platforms (like https://dev.twitter.com/ for example). This is often referred to as “Social Business Software”, which has grown in popularity in recent years. I decided to do a round-up of a couple of the more well known platforms and compare their products to Drupal. In this roundup we will be comparing Jive, Sharepoint and Drupal Commons. Drupal Commons is a popular distribution created by Acquia to compete with some of these other proprietary platforms. There are many other options out there, commercial and otherwise, to compare with Drupal but I want to focus on Jive and Sharepoint for a couple of reasons. I chose Jive because it is one of the leading competitors in this space in respect to market share. Next, I chose Sharepoint because I have some history with Sharepoint. This experience dates back to when I built www.adhe.edu with Sharepoint 2007 a few years ago. I subsequently wrote this blog entry about my experience shortly after joining Mediacurrent. This roundup will also act as a refresher for those who read my original “Drupal vs. Sharepoint” blog. Yammer, which was recently bought by Microsoft and is the tool we currently use for office communication will also get some mentions throughout this article. As I went through and tested each of these tools I used three main criteria in my evaluation Cost Ability to Customize Overall features… Read more →
