We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of BiZZdesign HoriZZon, from my experience, include its out-of-the-box connectors, such as integration with ServiceNow, Excel, and SQL databases, making data repository management more efficient.""I like the flexibility of the modeling part for standards like ArchiMate and, at the same time, BPMN. It allows us to connect elements from different areas and to have a single repository and a single source of truth. It gives us one place to do analysis throughout the organization.""The enterprise studio where the modelling happens is valuable.""The initial setup of this solution was very straightforward.""BiZZdesign HoriZZon is scalable, and I'd give it an eight out of ten for scalability. Our customers are enterprise level companies, but the solution is suitable for small and mid-sized companies as well.""The most valuable features are the application, portfolio, data, architectures, and modeling things.""The feature I find most valuable is that the start times and loading times are short. It takes only a few seconds to load the repository and whenever I want to open diagrams, they are there almost immediately.""The most valuable feature is that it allows you to work with different methods, using the same tool."

"Some of the business processes are very easy to compare when you have the diagrams.""The initial setup is easy.""Scalability is not a problem. You can always increase the footprint of what the thing can do because it's so powerful.""Customizable and tailored to the environment. Several template frameworks are provided.""It provides good utilization and it's a convenient tool for building exact architectural work.""This is a useful tool for IT people who need to design their solution architecture.""The profiles and ready-made templates are an extremely helpful feature. This is one of the biggest features that I find very useful in Sparx.""We can easily use it with our new customers."

Cons
"It lacks capabilities with regard to infrastructure modeling.""I have seen table charts where, if the chart is a little too big, it does not fit in HoriZZon and it is not at all visible... There have been several times where we could not publish a chart properly and we had to break the chart into small tables and create multiple artifacts, creating a complete mess. This should be seriously taken up by BiZZdesign because there is a lot of scope for improvement in terms of usability. It's not at all good, unfortunately.""Scalability is a bit of a problem for BiZZdesign. There is always a possibility it will failover.""One area where BiZZdesign HoriZZon could use some improvement is in its REST APIs.""The repository of duplicate objects is bad.""The automatic data collection and interface need improvement.""It should be more open to integrating with other existing tools. Although there has been progress in the past.""The users of BiZZdesign should be able to enter their data or make modeling changes via HoriZZon."

More BiZZdesign HoriZZon Cons →

"When the model is large, it is a bit slow to render.""The automatic creation of reports based on the model elements could be improved.""The areas of improvement should be focused on utility service such as producing better graphics, perhaps having a wider image library set and producing better models for working directly with customers.""From a practical point of view, we need speed and reliability for creating a model and doing some really meaningful tasks such as application landscape, refactoring, etc. These are two primary criteria. Sometimes, when you import something, it creates the object duplicates, or it allows you to do something that you're not supposed to do. For example, validation is missing. This could be frustrating because when you work at a high speed, you need to come back and start fixing things that the tool allowed you to go with, which is not quite good. So, there should probably be some internal mechanisms to advise you about what you're doing and what is probably not the best idea.""The dashboard and connectivity could be improved.""I have found the solution is lacking options. The general usability needs improvement and more compliance to CML definitions.""The user interface is not so good. It's not easy for someone to use it at first. The product takes some getting used to.""It would be great if we could decrease the use of different parts of the Toolbox."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "[The] Orbus... pricing model was based on every single functionality having a price. The pricing was comparable but if we wanted to scale, it would have ended up being a lot more expensive. BiZZdesign gave us one price with all of the functionality, and we could scale as much as we needed."
  • "I haven't found any issues with the scalability and licensing parts that are access-related."
  • "First and foremost within the scope of improvement for the solution would be the cost. It's very costly..."
  • "The pricing model is slightly on the high side and could be more competitive for long-term partnerships."
  • "The price is reasonable."

  • "The Corporate Edition, or one of the bundles, is the way to go."
  • "Use floating licenses strategically."
  • "The pricing for ultimate version is steeply high."
  • "Licenses are pretty low cost compared to, for example, ARIS."
  • "It’s the best deal in town, by far."
  • "Pricing and licensing is very attractive, simple, and straightforward."
  • "Pricing and licensing are suitable even for small companies."
  • "In terms of cost, Sparx EA is probably one of the cheapest tools I have ever used."
