We performed a comparison between CrowdStrike Falcon and CylancePROTECT based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."
"It is stable and scalable."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution."
"The Protect functionality on the laptops provides great visibility into what's occurring, and the cloud management of the platform is what we needed."
"I value the overall behavior analysis of CrowdStrike. The engine of this product is what drew us to this solution."
"It helps us to identify the threats according to the behavior of any process that is running on any particular system. It helps immensely to identify any malicious behavior on any endpoints."
"We have seen a reduction to the performance hit to our operating systems."
"CrowdStrike Falcon has done an excellent job at detecting breaches. It has allowed us to stay in business and keep our systems up."
"The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon is its accuracy. That's very important for me. False-positive are very bad for everyone. As we are a financial institution, it's even worse. I like Falcon because it's very accurate."
"The stability is very good."
"I like the detection rates of mobile threats."
"A user can continue to add endpoints and the solution will continue to perform well."
"The solution is extremely scalable. It's got the hybrid functionality, it's got the system functionality and cloud functionality as well."
"The Application Guard and ByteGuard are useful features."
"One of the best features of the solution is that it's easy to deploy."
"Has good RAM capacity for the power I need"
"It does a good job of protecting us."
"I find the actual overall endpoint malware protection the most valuable feature of CylancePROTECT."
"Very easy to deploy. It can be done one by one or deployed by customizing an MSI file for GPO push."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud."
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage."
"We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels."
"The installation process for this software needs to be simplified."
"The Integration with tools, SOC tools, could be better."
"For CrowdStrike to work, all the machines need to have an internet connection. This makes it challenging to assist customers without an internet connection. We would like to have a mechanism or relay to make this possible."
"CrowdStrike costs a little more than its competitors."
"It can be expensive depending on the features you select."
"The dashboard does not have the facility to export the reports in a PDF format, which I can quickly share with internal stakeholders."
"We encounter occasional issues, such as when disabling network access for a host that uses CrowdStrike."
"The product could be more accurate in terms of performance."
"I would like to see them fix the alerting system so that the endpoint reporting is a bit more streamlined."
"It needs real analysis of quarantined files. The EDR product isn't showing much right now."
"They could improve on the false positives, reporting and whitelisting features."
"The security scripting needs improvement. It needs deeper security for scripting."
"The solution’s user interface could be improved."
"The product must make the interface a little more user-friendly."
"The user interface is outdated."
"While you are working, you are finding these things that were supposed to be waived have come back to being blocked. That's frustrating."

I had a great experience having deployed CrowdStrike to tens of thousands of endpoints. It's easy to deploy and operationalize. It has provided protection against threats that other engines did not catch based on its powerful heuristics and AI.
CrowdStrike does invest heavily in R&D and provides advisory services on endpoint protection.
I never used Cylance. We installed CrowdStrike on 6/6/19 and aside from a test file have had zero hits. CrowdStrike has some additional features available (at a cost). One that I am looking at is device control for USB storage devices for policy enforcement. Syslogs are being absorbed by my SIEM as well.
