Pros
The advantage of Automation Anywhere is that you don't necessarily have to come from a programming background.Automation Anywhere has surely helped our organization to shape its Digital Journey - It was our first RPA tool which helped us to perform basic automation which created Point solutions but has added tremendous value at the early stage. We were able to scale-up fast using Automation Anywhere due to its user-friendly AI and later on IQ Bots provided the required edge to handle the unstructured data.I implemented AA in different environments, the AA installation is the smoothest compared to other RPA software installs. The universal recorder is a kind of hybrid recorder that enables the user to record the data across devices.Movement on cloud architecture according to me provided by AA2019, will be most beneficial as it will be easy to use and will provide flexibility.AA has improved our digital strategy extensively and provided the required leverage to place ourselves above other peers in the O&G Industry. We were able to develop quick digital solutions by demonstrating the ROI and gain momentum by aligning the desired resources & budget from leadership. We have improved on IQ Bot collectively with the normal Taskbot that we use. How it got started was that we have a lot of scanned documents to input for our solution. So, I used to get a lot of scanned documents, and extracting or reading the data from those has always been a pain area. We always used to bring a manual person in to do it. Once a manual person did that activity, it was brought into Excel where I could run the bot. With the entry of IQ Bot, it now takes care of my scanned documents, which means IQ Bot does the OCR extraction and gives my data to the Automation Anywhere Taskbot. This means no manual intervention and end-to-end bot processing, along with a happy customer at the end of the day. We provide these services to multiple clients, so we have been doing this for all of our clients.Scalability is one of the best things about most of the RPA bots. Once you create one, scalability is just about multiplying them.

Blue Prism has a lot of flexibility to integrate with other enterprise applicationsBlue Prism takes good security measures and is user friendly. It's quite easy to use and easy to understand the process studio. The web-based designer is very user-friendly and easy to use.We started with a very small team and small projects. As the project started getting success with Blue Prism we have a large number of teams now just for automating all the business procedures. Larger time was saved after automating the processes. The most valuable feature is that people with zero coding knowledge can use Blue Prism very well.It is not just for coders, as you can have a diagrammatic representation of the process. The ease of use is really good because a lot of business people, who have some idea about logic and who can think in logic, can configure things, because there is no coding.

It is more secure for complex implementations. The most valuable feature is the ability to write custom code. The most valuable feature is the customizability. The most valuable feature is security.Blue Prism is able to scale up at an enterprise-level. It's what I used when I was working for a big bank in Belgium. The reusability of the solution is excellent. It's a superior feature - far superior to any other tool on the market. The ease of building automation and the development environmentAbility to see the blueprint of the design executed alongside the actual process.

Cons
Because we are very new to our process, so we're still sort of working through it.Automation Anywhere can be improved in certain areas specified in the cognitive zone where the information needs better OCR Engine + Machine Learning capabilities. Also, they can improve on the System Identified region function of the IQ Bot - Our team faced a tough time in handling that as we were not able to assign variable to System Identified Region as the IQ Bot tool wasn't allowing it.Bringing a DevOps model for bot implementation integrated through private bot store might be a good idea to improve the tool.SMTP mail features should come with migration options. All kind of VB scripts and Java scripts which we built using exiting version should support in this version.[They] should add more Analytics and Intelligence related capabilities.Additional features should involve the Cognitive Section where we need more Advance solutions involving ML & AI.I would like a couple more features where I can talk and the line comes up automatically. I can just put on a mic, like in "Ok Google". With "Ok Google", I can tell it to please open an Excel spreadsheet with the header read. If this is there, then I don't even need to sit on a computer, I can just dictate my commands and it will automatically come up.Some things that I do not see as of today are interactive chat or video interface. These are things that I will look for in future. I saw something like picture recognition, but something like a video or voice recognition is something that I'm looking for in the Automation Anywhere platform as an end user and even as a reseller.

I have been speaking directly with Blue Prism's engagement manager about making the solution more web-based. It's not quite there yet. Currently, the latest version is still under the beta version, so, as a customer, we don't have access to it. They are making it much more web-based, but for now, everything you have to log into requires an enterprise server — It's still more client-based than web-based.The domain in regards to cognitive abilities and the use of processing activity needs improvement. They have added this capability, but that's not really big in the public. It is more also available for gold partners. So they should improve the user activity for the public or even the regular customer.I don't like that it is so limited, anything that you do feels limited in your capabilities.I would like to see machine learning functionality integrated with the automation. They improve more in OCR, to read text more correctly, currently can say OCR in blue prism only works for less cases and is only effective 50%. so mostly OCR's of Blue prism is very less used and other API's or tools are integrated with Blue prism for OCR techniques. If this solution had a framework for exception handling then it would be very helpful. The assisted automation functionality needs improvement.Blue Prism has been a little bit slow when it comes to the commitments on their roadmap. They had some delays last year, so I hope they make it up this year... For example, they were launching a Decipher tool. It was delayed by more than a year. It has still not launched.

I wouldn't call Blue Prism user-friendly. It's one of its downfalls. They would benefit from having drag and drop functionality, for example. It would make them a strong competitor in the space. There needs to be less reliance on coding for customization, similar to Microsoft's Power Automate.I would like to see a web-based control room, rather than the one that is in-built with the desktop version.Having more AI functionality would be an improvement. The vendor does not make their pricing clear when you are searching for it, which is something that needs to be improved. They should improve the user-friendliness and they should change their business model.I personally would like the solution to be supporting more languages.Lacking advance features like CIO and optical character recognitionThere's a need to deal with unstructured input with RPA.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Costs savings have been seen by employing bots for multiple shifts instead of people. If we talk about the automation RPA. it definitely has worked very well for us. I'm talking about giving good savings, about more than 180 FTE savings, after implementing more than 200 plus bots. It has worked well. As an organization, it has supported us very well, and also for our customers. It saves on the quality of work, because the quality can be bad when somebody's doing it. If a bot does the work, it's faster and comes with good quality. These are two important things along with the cost saving in the long run. That's where the value is.We have seen ROI on one of the process, but not on the other processes yet.The licensing cost is approximately $4,000 USD, which is a seed license. The certifications are free of cost. There are a lot of savings in terms of effort and time as well as costs. Automation Anywhere automates a lot of processes. It allows an organization to save the efforts of a lot people. It saves a lot of time because people can't work a whole day (24/7), but Automation Anywhere bots can.We are interested in saving manual engineer man-hours. So far, we have saved $100,000.

With Blue Prism, there are no additional feesWe have a three-year contract that is paid on a yearly basis.Blue Prism is less expensive than some of the other RPA solutions. The licensing fees are low compared to other tools. Our licensing fees are approximately $5,000 USD per year. The pricing is really good for an enterprise-level solution. It's quite scalable and it's quite comparable with the market.Compared to other tools on the market, it is one of the most expensive.Other than your infrastructure, in terms of servers that you have to set up, I don't think that there are any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.

Annual licensing costs were somewhere between $5,000 - $10,000 for the development tool. For the control tower, I think fees were about $50,000 annually. There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive. We pay about $15,000 per quarter in licensing costs. We don't have to pay for any other extra costs. There isn't, for example, an extra cost for technical support. We just pay the licensing. The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years.Pricing can be negotiated in situations where there will be heavy usage.
