Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is available in all flavors. You can use it in the browser, and you can use it on an Android phone for which a BlueJeans app is available. I use an Android phone, so I only know about Android. So, you can join a meeting from the application installed on your phone or from the mobile browser, or you can use it from a laptop or a PC.""It is really easy and there are no complicated graphics or icons. It is simple and has an intuitive design. It's user-friendly over anything else I have used.""The quality of both audio and video is good.""The main advantage is the ability to host large meetings with up to 500 participants. The sound quality is also better on BlueJeans. I find it pretty intuitive and user-friendly."

"The share screen option available during conferences is one of the best features of Cisco Meeting Server.""The UI is user-friendly and very good overall.""You can use the Cisco Meeting Server to set up conference calls and virtual meetings. Those are the two primary functions of Meeting Server. Most people in the company are using Microsoft Teams, so we only use Meeting Server when we have an internal meeting for all staff.""What I like most about Cisco Meeting Server is its quick management. The solution also has a straightforward configuration.""Cisco Meeting Server is an easy and less complex solution."

Cons
"I haven't had any big challenges. The annotation feature should be improved. So if I need to mark something or point something out, it's there, but it's not that user friendly. Other than that it's fine. In terms of collaboration, I think there could be some improvement.""Its cost is very high. If you sell it in India, which is a price-conscious market, the prices should be as per the market competition. You cannot charge the rates that are applicable in the US. They should tailor it to the local market. It should be in line with what the competition is offering.""BlueJeans doesn't allow as much customization of your background in a video call, so that could be improved.""Screen sharing is available but there is no feature for remote access, to take control of another machine."

"A few features are missing on the Meetings app, like a recording function. My understanding is that you need to buy a separate recording solution. It's modular, so you have to enable some functions if you want to use them. For example, we had to enable the Mood function. Recording is the primary feature we'd like to see in the app.""This is a difficult solution to install and it should be made easier.""In Cisco Meeting Server, GUI is an area of concern where improvements are required.""What would make Cisco Meeting Server better is integrating it with Zoom and Teams so that you can connect or make a call through any of the two third-party solutions.""Cisco Meeting Server should include a feature to control another user's screen during a remote session."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I once tried buying it for myself, but it was very costly. It is quite expensive as compared to other solutions. With BlueJeans, there are carrier charges if you call the toll-free number. The customer doesn't pay for the call, but the buyer or the subscriber of BlueJeans has to pay for it. That is where BlueJeans becomes very costly, and that is where Google, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom are very helpful because you don't have to pay these charges."

  • "Licensing fees are billed yearly."
  • "Cisco Meeting Server has reasonable licensing costs."
  • "Price-wise, Cisco Meeting Server is a product that falls in a mid-range category."
