Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The inventory and patch management tools are very valuable.""The support from BMC Client Management is very good.""One feature I like, that was especially valuable during the pandemic, is remote control. Remote control grants administrators and support personnel access to the laptops and PCs of employees (who might be working from home) in order to fix any issues that come up as and when they come up, even without having to wait for a support request.""It's a scalable solution. We have deployed it for customers using 3000 nodes to those using 300,000 nodes.""The most valuable features of the solution are its patching capabilities and the help it offers when it comes to use cases, like prompting for the reboot after a certain period of time.""The most valuable features of the solution are patch management and software license management."

"Its scalability and the central point of XDR so that all items are centrally reporting to one solution are the most valuable features.""It provides comprehensive visibility into all client logs and seamlessly integrates with other products, such as CM.""Offers great application control, vulnerability protection, and behavior monitoring.""The most valuable feature is the behavior monitoring.""Trend Micro Apex One most valuable features are centralized management, ease of use, and help user management. Additionally, it can detect vulnerabilities in the end-users system""The features I found most valuable in this solution are the micro apps. I also value the dashboard that offers better visibility and helps protect machines from attacks.""The most valuable feature is the antivirus.""One of the better features, in my opinion, is that it also makes use of a web reputation. For example, if someone accidentally clicks on a link in an email that leads to a malicious website, they will block it."

Cons
"The on-premises version of BMC Client Management has powerful remote control functionality and decent compliance features, but these features both rely on the discovery tool in order to gain a complete set of insights about the endpoint's environment. Now, BMC's discovery solution depends on having an agent installed in each endpoint and sometimes the agent doesn't work properly, making it difficult to get an accurate understanding of the environment (including special topologies) even with BMC's discovery tool.""BMC Client Management supports only iOS devices. It would be good if they would support Android as well.""BMC Client Management could improve in the area of integration.""The solution needs to add whitelisting because many customers request it.""It would be good if BMC Client Management can perform vulnerability assessment scanning at the endpoint on its own and mitigate that. Then, we wouldn't have to rely on a third party VA tool. I would like to see this application move to being a web-based one.""The solution does not offer the functionality of remote access to users."

More BMC Client Management Cons →

"The Apex One endpoint sensor has room for improvement.""I'd like to see the different interface components combined into one, or be allowed to get to the agent management portion without having to log into the main console.""No product can ever be rated a ten out of ten. They are always improving on one aspect or another.""Trend Micro Apex One could include more in-depth endpoint protection.""I would like to see a sandboxing feature in the next release - which is currently something being supported by a third party - in addition to EDR capability on the cloud applications.""We had a few occasions where we had to turn off our clients' computers to upgrade the drivers.""The solution could improve by making the interface less confusing, it needs to be simplified.""I would like to see the initial setup simplified to make it less complicated, and the price reduced."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution is low cost."
  • "To use BMC Client Management they charge annually per node."
  • "BMC Client Management is a very affordable solution. There is one main server license which I believe is around $1,000 per year, and then there is the license for the actual solution. With the solution license, you can opt for a suite license where you get access to all the features and benefits, or alternatively you can buy any of the five main components of the suite license individually."
  • More BMC Client Management Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing and licensing are competitive with other solutions on the market."
  • "On a yearly basis, it's about $50,000. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
  • "I think that this product is expensive."
  • "It's well priced at a yearly rate. The price itself depends on whether the solution is full suite, half suite, or some other engine. It's different according to the consumer's requests."
  • "Licensing costs depend completely on the number of users or licenses. They have a specific pricing structure. For example, if you are looking for 100 users to be on the product, in the Indian market (we're based in India), the cost is nearly $2,500 to $3,000 maximum for one three-year license."
  • "The price is reasonable."
  • "Its pricing was good. It is very competitive with all the other vendors."
  • "Compared to other products on the market, I think that the pricing is reasonable."

    Overview

Client Management automates endpoint management and helps organizations control costs, maintain compliance, and reduce risk. From device acquisition to disposal, Client Management provides an accurate view of hardware installations, ensures device adherence to organizational and industry policies, and supports systems and software currency.

Powered by the Trend Micro™ Smart Protection Network™, Trend Micro Apex One™ is a highly-regarded, popular, locally-managed anti-malware solution that keeps endpoints secure from a diverse assortment of internet threats. Trend Micro Apex One™ is an integrated solution consisting of the Security Agent that resides at the endpoint and the Apex One server that manages all Security Agents.

The Security Agents respond directly to the server to which they were installed. They report event data such as threat detection, Security Agent activity (startup and shutdown), when a scan begins, when a scan ends, and update progress to the server in real time.

An organization’s designated IT administrators can control Security Agent settings from the server and are empowered to grant users the privilege to configure specific settings.

Trend Micro Apex One™ uses a host-based prevention system (HIPS). HIPS will create a virtual patch for unknown and known threats prior to the time when the appropriate patch is available or deployable. This will expand protection to important platforms and virtual or physical devices while minimizing the time needed for an emergency patch event and preventing downtime. UsingTrend Micro Apex One™, users receive next-gen XDR robust features to improve detection, response, and investigation proficiencies. Users are able to expand features over numerous security layers for improved comprehensive visibility and faster response to threats impacting their entire enterprise.

    “Automated, Insightful, All-in-one Protection”

Automation: The Trend Micro Apex One™ solution provides the latest advanced automated threat awareness and precise defense against the continual barrage of the latest threats, including fileless and ransomware. The multi-generational amalgamation of up-to-date processes ensures thorough and precise endpoint protection that optimizes production, productivity, and profitability.

Insightful: With Trend Micro Apex One™, users get useful, intuitive insights, increased investigative competencies, and improved visibility by utilizing an open API set, a next-gen EDR toolset, and powerful, robust SIEM integration. Users can choose to execute intensive threat analyses that go past the endpoints and provide additional support to the organization's security teams with a guided detection and remediation service.

All-in-one: In today’s aggressive, dynamic marketplace, organizations require threat protection that goes beyond basic antivirus. Trend Micro Apex One™ provides robust threat detection, immediate response, and thorough follow-up all within a single solution. Users can now do without numerous solutions and unnecessary devices and attain elasticity of deployment using both SaaS and on-premises deployment options.
