We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Using the Help Desk and Purchasing modules, they let us keep track of all the issues in our organization and analyze them for trends.""Our users have come to expect availability and quick responses, and we are able to provide this thanks to the Track-IT! solution.""Our efficiency has improved drastically due to a massive reduction in phone calls.""We can manually capture the assets available within the location.""As a department, we have been able to identify problems and resolve them faster because of the centralized database.""We use it to create and manage our work orders.""Using their problem management process, we can use parent/child tickets and set up public views for our problem work orders.""The customization of the product and reporting capabilities have allowed us to provide upper management the graphs (data) they request that helps validate specific needs that we (IT) have."

"I like the remote control, audit, inventory, patch management, software management, and monitoring features.""I like the Live Connect module provided by Kaseya. It is a powerful module. I also like the Agent Procedure module. We work with it most of the time.""When compared to what we were previously using, one of the most appealing features is that it combines remote control, patch management, and software management into a single portal.""Patch management was very useful. Backdoor access to the clients was also very useful.""The backup tool is highly useful, offering a fast and efficient way to retrieve and restore data.""The most valuable feature of Kaseya VSA is the ability to control laptops remotely.""The most valuable part of this solution is the security features that it offers.""The product's support team is very quick to respond, especially because the tool's technical team operates in the same time zone where I am located."

Cons
"Track-It! works great for a mid-size company, but anything over 700 employees, and trying to use Track-It! for any other areas of the business is difficult.""The solution is cumbersome to use.""The area where we would like to see improvement is in the asset management module.""The product’s current version could be easier and straightforward to work with small IT organizations, similar to the older version.""There are a few items that I would like changed or extra features that could be added to our current version of this software, but those are all going to be addressed in a future software update.""Their self-service is not user friendly."

More BMC Track-It! Cons →

"The agent-based monitoring solution can be improved.""Our main concern is related to security. Kaseya had a ransomware attack a few months ago, and it was a big concern for us because Kaseya was the main RMM tool that we were using. We faced a lot of difficulties accessing our users and systems. So, security is our main concern.""The solution is hard to use at first until you understand how it works.""The deployment process could be better.""It never functioned as intended.""There should be more Mac support. Whenever a new Mac operating system comes out, the support is very limited. It takes them a while to get things up to date. We're seeing more and more people move to Mac from the Windows environment for various reasons, but their support for Mac is very limited. A lot of it might have to do with Mac itself, but there are ways to improve upon that. That would be my biggest thing for improvement.""I would like to see improved virtual infrastructure management.""The UI could be streamlined. The menu has 18 options, but we only use three. It has a lot of redundant stuff. Software management, software deployment, patch management, etc., all do the same thing, but they're different programs and licenses."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "BMC Track-It!’s price is reasonable compared to other products."
  • More BMC Track-It! Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The pricing is quite good and we are satisfied with it."
  • "I think it costs more than ManageEngine."
  • "The dollar exchange rate in Brazil is very high, so the price should be better for our country."
  • "It depends on what products you want. Kaseya loves packages, and if you are packaging, it is more affordable. If you're not packaging, it tends to be a little bit more expensive than others."
  • "It is not expensive. Anyone can afford it. Most of the time, we get a discount for licenses. We had about 5,000 agents, and we received a discount on the price. There is only the licensing cost. If you use the on-prem version, you also have the infrastructure cost."
  • "With the on-prem, you buy the agent license. That's a one-time fee, and it varies depending on how many you have. You also pay annual maintenance on the number that you have. So, there are two fees involved: a one-time fee and a recurring fee."
  • "We pay a monthly fee, but it's a three-year contract divided by 36. They don't offer a true SaaS plan where you can add licenses monthly as you go. The cost is $7 per person per month, and we are paying about $1,700 a month."
  • "We were looking at a price of $22.50 cents per user."

    Reviews from Real Users

Kaseya VSA is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Some of its major advantages are that it’s easy to use, has a good Live Connect feature, and its unified portal.

A Team Lead at a tech services company explains what he finds most valuable about the solution: “The ease of access and ease of use was great. When Kaseya is deployed on the customer's computer, we have access to the customer. We just need the computer's name or ID, or sometimes, if the user has the same name as their first name, we can find them that way.”

"The most valuable piece of the puzzle for me is what they call Live Connect. It is the piece that allows you to support an end-user without having to take the keyboard and mouse,” says another Automation Team Lead at a tech services company.

PeerSpot reviewer Allan E., Director Of IT / Purchasing Manager at Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board expresses, “One of the most appealing features is that it combines remote control, patch management, and software management into a single portal."
