We performed a comparison between BMC TrueSight Network Automation and DX Spectrum based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Configuration Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature is probably mobile device management. Small businesses are coming under greater scrutiny and requirements for compliance as time goes on. We don't have to worry about a VPN because we can manage these devices, control company data, and lock users out. If needed, we can remotely wipe devices and deadman-switch them."
"I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management."
"The solution has reduced the risk of security breaches by 30%."
"One of the most valuable aspects of Microsoft Intune is its seamless integration with Azure Active Directory, offering capabilities akin to Group Policy Objects."
"The most valuable feature is the policy CSPs."
"It's easy to manage."
"At the moment, Autopilot is the most valuable feature."
"Intune provides full endpoint visibility and IT control across device platforms. You can individualize it for your company with the Intune Company Portal app."
"The most valuable feature of BMC TrueSight Network Automation is compliance management, configuration backup, and configuration management."
"The log audit and historical configurations are the most valuable feature."
"We use it to back up configurations so the configuration management is valuable for us."
"The compliance management, patching, and OS upgrades are useful features."
"It has the best automation features."
"The backup and restore configurations are really helpful for a number of network devices, as you can automate them, then know what changes have been done, who made the changes, etc. So, it's quite helpful in the network management area."
"It is helpful if you schedule daily or weekly archiving for your config groups. Then, you can go by what are in those configuration groups, before and after, if you make changes. So, configuration management is really helpful in network management."
"This product has helped us because we can now do many tasks at once. Rather than copy one file to one device, we can do an entire group at one time."
"Spectrum is great for root cause analysis. It has excellent correlation event management. Spectrum's stability and scalability are also amazing."
"The quick notification of issues, quick alerting because timeliness is always valuable, it's very important for us."
"The solution's most valuable features are its integration with Broadcom tools and scalability."
"The product’s stability and robustness are valuable."
"Stability has been good. We really have not had any issues."
"We were able to standardize the internal processes across all internal departments, resulting in almost an elimination of non-standard process flows through our organization."
"It is very stable. We have not had any major issues in over 10 years."
"The Global Collections are what I found to be most valuable. With the Global Collections, you're able to organize and categorize devices into "folders," or functional groups and categories, so that it doesn't matter which SpectroSERVER those devices are on."
"There needs to be more support for Mac operating systems."
"Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally."
"Microsoft Intune's support for Mac devices is lacking and could be improved."
"Data leak prevention can be integrated into it. Currently, it does not have data leak prevention."
"There is room for improvement in integration and security as well."
"Microsoft Intune is not user-friendly to manage and has room for improvement."
"While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users."
"Reporting in Microsoft solutions is pathetic. With Intune, I'm getting a free inventory tool, but I don't get a reporting tool. When I go to Intune, I can see one machine's entire data in terms of the hardware and the software running on it, but I cannot generate a report for all the machines in the organization. The reporting is the only feature holding back the functionality that is already there."
"For customized compliance, it takes some effort to implement things. If the device configuration is quite complex, then you have to do quite number of customizations in the DNA tool for out-of-the-box compliance. These regular expressions have to be modified based on the requirements of the compliance."
"The product should be expanded to include more hardware, beyond Cisco and Juniper devices."
"I'd like to be able to get more devices into compliance with standards, but that means running additional rule sets and that takes time."
"We've been working with BMC support in various ways such as to allow for the high-availability components to the TSIMs to work together. There have been issues there. We've seen randomness in how other pieces of the software work. Integration with the Presentation Server and the TSIMs has been a challenge. The ports that are required for HA to be utilized were not clearly documented anywhere. In fact, they still aren't documented online anywhere, even though we managed to pull it out of some of their support people."
"BMC TrueSight Network Automation can improve by having a better UI. The overall quality of the UI could be better."
"There could be automated processes to retrieve the CVS and create a compliance tool."
"It is tedious to scale the solution."
"They need to have a single sign-on."
"We have a lot of different monitoring tools in the background, so orchestration has been a little bit of a challenge."
"It takes some time to learn how to use this solution."
"I think the management or configuration of devices needs some improvement."
"DX Spectrum is stable. However, now and then there are some issues, but overall it is good."
"The solution's stability needs improvement."
"There should be a facility to integrate with other monitoring applications that are currently running in the environment."
"Huawei devices are not properly supported, and there are incompatibility issues related to certain protocols."
"For my use case, incident coordination was an area of improvement. The internal software engine for coordinating outages could use improvement because sometimes, we used to get false alerts for unrelated devices. They did a really good job of trying to make sure that you got one major alert and any of the subsequent devices downstream were just additions to that, but occasionally, the engine wouldn't properly catch the right things, and we used to get a flood of alerts."
