We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The solution is easy to learn and with it, it's easy to replicate knowledge.""Its integration with source control is very refreshing. There could be a little bit more maturity around how to do some of the features, but not having to go outside the app, not having a separate set of procedures, allows you to check in and check out right from within the app. You can make edits and uploads and undo your checkouts.""It really does have a great dashboard. It has Bot Insight, it has MetaBots, and IQ Bots. It has so many features where it can read a file and loop.""MetaBots are useful when connecting to websites or to forms with objects that need to be captured.""MetaBot is the most valuable feature. Other products have robotic functionality but MetaBot is a kind of functionality by which code is created... so business users who do not have coding knowledge can drag and drop.""We have seen more efficient processing and less number of errors due to quality control.""We have staff who have been moved out of the mundane tasks and are now doing value-added activities.""One of the features that we have used the most is an action in the Workbench called Object Cloning. We find that very reliable and very useful for implementing different business processes."

"The solution is easy to use and easy to apply.""The entire backend system structure is something that I found really valuable.""The solution has very good processes. It's very easy to deploy and has good reviews on it. It offers good automation and the solution has very good developers working on it.""From a solution standpoint, screen capture and tight integration with Outlook are valuable features.""The most valuable feature is the rapid deployment of multiple bots.""The ability to drag and drop various components and the customizability are good features.""Automation Anywhere has good document extraction features where it can learn patterns.""They recently released the newest version that has a good program flow, quality, and blueprints that are all good improvements to the automation. They also have good integration with SAP."

Cons
"We had several issues when trying to connect the different components, due to our firewalls. They were eventually solved by our internal IT and the AA technical team.""Regarding the UI, once you're in some of the screens there are fixed dialogues. They are a set size, so there's a lot of horizontal scrolls and vertical scrolls.""If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue.""The schedule queue needs improvement. When one task fails, everything else gets stuck, requiring manual intervention to clear the problematic schedule and trigger the other tasks.""There is room for improvement when this application is used in a Citrix-based environment.""We have a few issues which have persisted. These end up restarting the machine. We are hoping in version 11.3 of Automation Anywhere, our compatibility and infrastructure issues will be resolved.""If you work with image recognition and custom objects, there are stability issues.""The main things I've found that could be better are small things that can be annoying when you're using them a lot. I would recommend they add a feature where, if you mark the start of an "If" sentence it will highlight the end of the "If" sentence. That would make it easier to get a better overview."

"The stability needs to be improved.""I would like to have access to self-service support.""The solution doesn't have support like they used to. They need support. We have personnel of our own, but sometimes we need assistance beyond our own team.""I would definitely be wanting to see OCR features for improving the solution.""There should be more support for developing in environments such as Citrix and Linux.""I would like to be able to access BotForm using a mobile app.""I would like to see more process mining features to give us insight into them before we develop automation.""The new version is not very stable. Sometimes I can't use the recording sound."

"The maintenance is very difficult. We've only been using the platform for three months, so I'm not sure if that will continue, but right now it's an observation I've had."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even.""Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running.""Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has.""They're very flexible around pricing and licensing.""They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing.""We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases.""If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000.""It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Pricing and Cost Advice »

"Pricing for this solution can be better.""Our licensing costs are approximately $3,000 USD annually.""The pricing model could be simplified.""I think payment can vary but it's a re-occurring fee that needs to be paid every year.""An unattended bot license costs around $5,000, whereas an attended bot license costs roughly $1,500.""We pay approximately $15,000 USD per year."
