Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships.""The most valuable functionality of the solution for us is that when employees stop working for the municipality, they are automatically disabled in Active Directory. Omada controls that 100 percent. They are disabled for 30 days, and after that time Omada deletes the Active Directory account. The same type of thing happens when we employ a new person. Their information is automatically imported to Omada and they are equipped with the roles and rights so they can do their jobs.""The identity lifecycle support is definitely valuable because we are a complex organization, and there is a lot of onboarding, movement, and offboarding in our organization. We have 31,000 users, and there are a lot of users who are constantly onboarding, offboarding, and moving. So, we need to make sure that these activities are supported. In old times, we used to do everything manually. Everyone was onboarded, offboarded, or moved manually. So, from a business point of view and an economics point of view, identity lifecycle is most valuable. From a security point of view, access review is the most important feature for us.""We don't have to go in and do a lot of the work that we did before. It may have saved us somewhere in the range of 10 to 30 percent of the time we spent on provisioning access.""It has a very user-friendly interface compared to what we are used to, and it is highly configurable. In the old solution, when we needed to do something, we had to have a programmer sitting next to us, whereas, in Omada Identity, everything is configurable.""User-friendly solution.""We are able to onboard new user accounts much faster by automating the process and standardizing our operations globally. Previously, there were many individual processes and manual admin interactions. We also see a lot of cost savings and benefits because through automation and standardization.""The best feature in Omada Identity is that it enables us to implement standardized employee life cycle processes so that we don't have to create them ourselves. We can then use the standard workflows. The breadth and scope of the solution’s IGA features also fulfill our requirements."

"Microsoft Identity Manager's documentation is good, and its end-user portal is user-friendly.""The product’s simplicity and integration are valuable.""Microsoft integration products are strong. That is what I like about the product.""The features that we find most valuable are security, mobility, and Single Sign-On.""The most valuable feature of the solution is the fact that I can use it to track who is sending which email, who is accessing which documents or which files, etc. These tools help me improve security within the enterprise environment.""I appreciate how Microsoft keeps adding new features to Microsoft Identity Manager.""Very powerful synchronization tool.""The most valuable feature is that it provides protection for our company documents."

More Microsoft Identity Manager Pros →

"Automated provisioning removes manual labor and manual provisioning.""Provisioning engine (on the back-end, separate from front-end components, that's part of layered architecture).""Self-registration and self-service password management are valuable features. The role modeling feature is also very useful. It allows you to model your enterprise role.""The most valuable aspects of Symantec Identity Governance and Administration are all the features, it is the most complete solution on the market. It has features, such as scanners and portals, it has everything.""The product is relatively easier to use than other identity management products.""Word mining and risk campaigns are the most valuable features of this solution.""The scalability potential is there if a company needs to expand.""Governance."

Cons
"The backend is pretty good but the self-service request access screen, the GUI, needs improvement. It's an old-fashioned screen. Also, Omada has reports, but I wouldn't dare show them to the business because they look like they're from 1995. I know they are working on these things and that’s good, because they’re really needed.""I would like more training. As someone who is new to this world, I don't feel that the courses Omada provides are good enough. They should also improve the documentation. It is difficult to learn how to use the solution by yourself""The web GUI can be improved.""If I had to name one thing, it would be the user interface (UI).""The account management integration isn't bad, but it isn't plug-and-play like Microsoft Azure. You need some deep development knowledge to set up the connectors.""The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it.""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""When the re-certification process is launched that makes Omada very slow. There are performance issues in the current version."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"Some valuable features might go unused because they are not well-documented or connected clearly in user guides.""The setup was difficult. The deployment process is not quick.""It requires a lot of improvements. Microsoft is killing this product and migrating some of the features to Azure AD. The last version of this solution was 2016. If it is going to stay and integrate with Azure AD, its integration needs to be worked on in terms of connectors, etc. It doesn't seem that they are improving it alone. Microsoft wants to integrate it with Azure AD, but the integration is still not complete.""This product was only launched two or three years ago and it is still in the process of becoming stable.""MIM's reliability could be improved.""The security could be slightly improved.""Microsoft Identity Manager could be more intuitive in terms of interface.""They have to improve the User Entity and Behavioral Analysis."

More Microsoft Identity Manager Cons →

"Integration capabilities with other solutions and formats, including JSON, could be improved.""The directory has room for improvement. Also, the dashboards and, in particular, the KPI dashboard that shows the current user’s information needs reworking.""Identity Manager has a lack of entitlement support, unlike other products that I have worked with.""There are several areas for improvement in Symantec Identity Governance and Administration. They have no proper documentation on how to do backups. They also have a lengthy workflow process where we have to make some configurations to manage automation in the rules and in our tasks which takes time. We have to manually configure all the configuration files, and we cannot export users because there's no export system in Symantec Identity Governance and Administration. What we'd like to see in the next release of the solution is for them to make configuration and integration with other systems their top priorities. We have many API systems to manage, so hopefully, if they make these enhancements shortly, we can directly connect with our API systems when using Symantec Identity Governance and Administration.""Symantec is only on-premises, not on the cloud.""In the next release, there should be provisioning of your certifications.""The development process to create this connector is not as easy as I would like.""The Identity tool needs to do more kinds of reporting for audit purposes. It doesn't really track any of the metrics that are useful to us, at this point."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Microsoft Identity Manager comes with the premium or community license. If the customer doesn't have a premium license, the reseller who sells the licenses of Microsoft to the enterprise can extend the license for the client."
  • "MIM is free with a Microsoft Azure license."
  • "The solution is included in the Microsoft E3 license and premium subscriptions of Azure AD."
  • "The prices can always be improved. I'd rate it a 4 out of 10 in terms of pricing."
  • "When comparing the cost, Microsoft Identity Manager is the best solution because it is free if you have an Azure P2 license."
  • "It is an expensive tool."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • More Microsoft Identity Manager Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Compared to other options, CA products are not that expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users."
  • "Pricing and licensing models are adequate and reasonable."
  • "The connector is free, and bundled with the product."
  • "I do not recall the approximate prices or licensing models, although I do so that it was priced per user number."
  • "The product has a good price in competition with another product with the same solution."
  • "Symantec keeps increasing the price. I rate its pricing a seven on a scale of ten."
  • "The price is flexible for our existing customers."
