We performed a comparison between Oracle Identity Governance and Symantec Identity Governance and Administration based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two User Provisioning Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance."
"User-friendly solution."
"Its best feature is definitely the process design. It is quite easy and straightforward to design a process."
"We don't have to go in and do a lot of the work that we did before. It may have saved us somewhere in the range of 10 to 30 percent of the time we spent on provisioning access."
"The most valuable feature for us is the ability to set up connectors to various IT systems and offer a wide range of supported connectors."
"Omada's most valuable aspect is its usability."
"Surveying is a valuable feature because it allows us to import data and see who has access to what data, for example."
"It has a lot of out-of-the-box features. It is flexible, and there are a lot of possibilities to configure and extend it. It is user-friendly. It has an interface that is end-user or business-user friendly."
"The support service of Oracle is good. We use it a lot and their response is quick."
"Password management is a valuable feature."
"Scalability-wise, I rate this solution a nine out of ten. Oracle Identity Governance is a scalable solution, without a doubt."
"I am able to request any access rights I need."
"The most valuable feature is the user manager certification that approves or removes user access."
"The most valuable feature is the set of out-of-the-box connectors."
"Its most valuable feature is its scalability."
"It helps provision the required accesses through policies, approvals, and whatever would be the business requirement."
"Using the implementation guide, I was able to implement the solution with ease."
"It is easy to use, and does not requires an extensive programming or development background."
"It's a very useful tool that has improved our client's security, from day one."
"Connector Xpress and Policy Xpress and the new interface."
"I've used it to manage users, create and update, delete users, change passwords, and assign and change rules."
"The most valuable features are role-based access and identity provisioning, which allow a single point of user access to multiple places."
"The product is relatively easier to use than other identity management products."
"The scalability potential is there if a company needs to expand."
"One thing that we are not so happy about is the user interface. It is a bit dated. I know that they are working on that, but the user interface is quite dated. Currently, it is a little bit difficult to customize the user interface to the need of the business, which is a little bit disappointing. It needs it to be a little bit easier to operate, and it should have a better user interface."
"The user interface should have a more flexible design, where you can change it to your requirement."
"If I had to name one thing, it would be the user interface (UI)."
"Omada's performance could be better because we had some latency issues. Still, it's difficult to say how much of that is due to Omada versus the resources used by our other vendors in our on-prem environment. Considering the resources we have invested into making it run well, it's slightly slower than we would expect."
"I would like to see them expand the functionality of the tool to continue to be competitive with the monsters out there. For example, they could add functionality on the authentication side, functionality that Octa and SailPoint have. But they should do that while maintaining the same simplicity that makes Omada a product of choice today."
"It is not possible to customize reports on Omada Identity."
"I would like to search on date fields, which is not possible now."
"The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it."
"They need to improve their backup strategy."
"This product currently uses a complex and old implementation. They need a single, user-friendly console for easy configuration. The Active Directory Services (ADS) integration needs improvement. They should offer non-Java coding options and simplify mapping."
"The user interface experience needs to be improved."
"The user-friendliness of Oracle Identity Governance can be improved compared to other products."
"An area for improvement in Oracle Identity Governance is that it isn't refreshed or updated as much. The only area that changed on it in the last five years was the GUI. The solution still has the same installation, troubleshooting, and configuration. Oracle Identity Governance is still very complicated when compared to other solutions. It seems that Oracle doesn't focus too much on Oracle Identity Governance in terms of making some improvements to it."
"The cost of this product needs to be reduced."
"Oracle Identity Governance, particularly version 12c, can handle multiple scenarios, but for a regular user, I found the use cases not that extensive, so this is an area for improvement. The implementation process for Oracle Identity Governance is also a bit more complex than how you implement competitor products, and this is another area for improvement in the solution. Technical support for Oracle Identity Governance also needs some improvement. Another area for improvement in Oracle Identity Governance is its documentation. Currently, it's lacking when compared to SailPoint. What I'd like to see in the next release of Oracle Identity Governance is a bit more scope for AI-based Identity governance. If the solution has built-in intelligence, that will give it more leverage. Another feature I'd like to see in Oracle Identity Governance in the future is the option for managers to provide access to others via mobile devices or phones."
"OIA needs to improve its governance features."
"Integration capabilities with other solutions and formats, including JSON, could be improved."
"It has a large footprint which you'd expect to be much, much smaller. Just to run basic services, we have 10 different servers. Also, if it were easier to manage, that'd be useful."
"The product has a lot of need for improvement. Our issues are being raised back to the vendor as enhancements."
"We would like to see integration with analytics. Also, for them to be more efficient regarding discovering and implementing new rules."
"They should easier and better integration with other software."
"There are times that it takes too long to generate reports and to run the assessment tools to collect the information."
"The product's technical support could be better."
"The drawback with the CA Identity Manager is they don't have a connector to HR systems like SAP, or PeopleSoft, or Workday. That's a major drawback with the CA Identity Manager. For that we have to do lots of custom quoting to get data from HR systems. And if they could connect it to GRC systems, that's good to have in an identity product."
