Find out in this report how the two IT Infrastructure Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The monitoring of the applications to let our business know when things are performing and that they're up and available."
"The real value is our being able to pull all the historic data that we need in order to gather every little metric and nuanced piece of information from a given device, a given piece of infrastructure, in order for us to generate alerts."
"Monitors the infrastructure asset and also monitors as an IT service."
"It gives an alarm when there's something going on, not just when there's an expected spike that happens every night on a server."
"I can use the Drag and Drop feature to build dashboards within minutes."
"Great out-of-the-box capability."
"It is easy to implement."
"We are able to go in and actually leverage the thick client for a nice easy drag and drop solution."
"The solution's initial setup process was easy...The technical support is good...It is a stable product, and we will use it for a long time."
"Easy to add servers and get them monitored and manageable."
"The initial setup is easy."
"The remote support automatically logs service calls and support cases with HPE, which is really good."
"Comprehensive dashboard, ease of use are key features."
"The OneView Global Dashboard is very user-friendly and it can be used for monitoring the power consumption and temperature of the data center and racks."
"Firmware compliance is one of the most valuable features."
"Gives the business interfaces to view real-time pictures of IT business services."
"DX UIM's reporting and customization need to be improved."
"In the UMP, certain devices will show up multiple times and they don't correlate correctly. That's one of the issues."
"Making a GUI with criteria such as selection by robot/hub/probe etc."
"The only challenge that I have with this solution is the reporting part. The users are not really comfortable with the kind of reports they are getting. Sometimes, they want to see reports in their own format. Customizing those reports with Jasper is not very easy. It could be because of the knowledge gap. If you have the knowledge of how Jasper can be configured to suit customer requirements in terms of reporting, it is good. There was a time a customer complained about one issue related to Netflow analysis. Broadcom has a separate model for that, but the customer wanted everything bundled together. It could also have IP management so that I am able to see or analyze IPs so that the IPs that are already in use don't get assigned."
"The UIM has no features through goods and services yet. "
"It needs a little bit more functionality in the Admin Console."
"The company has not kept pace with developments."
"We have experienced challenges with finding a mechanism to deploy the agents, but it's only on the first deployment so it's not a big issue."
"Specifically, it would be great if we had the ability to reapply the server profile faster."
"Integration could be improved. Sometimes OneView doesn't identify physical hardware."
"Does not allow for switch configuration other than through OneView."
"We've had a few issues. We just upgraded to the 3.9.0 version. We think that now that we are on that version, hopefully a lot of those things are going to go away for us."
"We've had issues, for example, with RAM."
"I saw, maybe three years ago or two years ago here, or in Barcelona, at the HPE Discover conference, a feature that you can update Clusterware with VMware. But the feature is still not live in production. Currently, you have to do all the firmware updates and then you have to do the VMware updates. So you have two reboots and it would be better if it was just one."
"The tool doesn't send automated alerts via email...We should be able to receive notification emails when a server or hardware issue arises, which would be helpful if someone is unavailable in the office."
"It would be better if we can add every HPE device to OneView, such as MSA, as well as the other servers like the DL server and ML server."
